  • Sorry about the long delay between videos, been busy with a lot of stuff.
You only have 2 options when doing this S54 housing swap on an M50, and that's to use a step down banjo bolt, or drill and tap the existing hole. This video is about milling out the S54 Oil Filter vanos feed from M12 to M14 THE RIGHT WAY to accept the M50's M14 banjo bolt.
You need to be super careful to drill the hole really straight, otherwise it'll leak like a sieve.
Big thanks for Cameron from Third Coast Autoworks Euro + Importer in the US for getting this housing over to me in AUS with ease and super fast :)
The turbo build is slowly but surely getting there, and i'll get some more video's up soon hopefully!

Did you use a 1/2" endmill to drill it? It is only .008" bigger than 12.5mm. Sorry if that was in the text and I missed it. Do you happen to know if the oil thermostat in that housing is replaceable?

dvracecom sorry mate, not 100% sure what size drill we used, but it was the correct drill to accept the M14 tap. I left that up to the machinist who knew what he was doing. Regards to the thermostat, I believe you can replace it as you can see it in the back of the oil housing, but haven't attempted it myself

Why couldn't you just buy a banjo bolt adaptor kit instead of resizing your filter housing this seems like much more work than just getting a M12 to M14 banjo bolt
