When I was a broke 14 year old son to a single mom who worked all day I used to tie a string to a hook and tie both onto a sturdy branch. I used to catch fish all the time using worms I dug off the ground as bait. When you are hungry you will quickly learn how to lure fish and be patient sitting in the same position for hours.

Even at pressured lakes, panfish are easy to catch, but it is definitely a plus when you can find a secluded pond! Hop on google maps and look around for some spots if you need more!

This is the "baitcaster" model. There is one with an actual reel and people catch fish all the time. I'm sure you've seen it by now.

I have it spooled up with 5 lb mono but you can switch it around if you want! 🎣🎣
What’d you use?
Small curly tail grubs and trout magnets work well.
What is that speed
The reel has a very low gear ratio, so the speed is not very high and probably can’t handle huge fish.
