You would have better luck using a j hook for active setting like that. Circle hook is not meant for active setting and can easily slide out without hooking the fish if yank like that. Circle hooks just need some pressure applied, thats why they are often used for passive fishing with higher drag to set itself. Change hooks and success rate goes up a lot.

That contraption looks dangerous! Circle hooks are great for "bait and wait" fishing. And they always catch the corner of the mouth for easy hook removal. I prefer a small brass khale hook for this type of fishing. Or shrimp on a jig head. I hook them Texas worm style through the tail. I think you should use smaller weights, but I'm not there and that current is strong. Keep posting this great content. Duuuuuuvaaaalllll!!!!!

Looks to me like there needs to be some improvement with the design. First. The spikes included are not universally stable. The spikes provided don’t seem to set deep enough into the sand to withstand the mechanical hook setting power and pops out of the ground all the time. There should be longer spikes for sand and a flat platform included to set rocks on top of or a single solid pole to slip between rocks if you’re fishing riprap or rocky shorelines. There really needs to be some kind of extra counterweight at the butt end of the pole for stability as well. I also agree the pole should be detachable from the anchoring post. The concept seems practical, just don’t think the design was thoroughly thought through for real life applications.

I can't believe Karen's first thought was stepping over, instead of easily walking around. Amazed at her thinking.

I’ve noticed that the first few times you baited your rod. Your bait should cover the tip of the hook. If you don’t do that, then the fish will come from behind and take your bait.

It would be much better if you take off the stike and use a regular rod holder for a better ground and fiction power, nice video through.

looks like it would be better in a muddy riverbank with a heavy lure, could maybe let a plastic lure trail behind it too.

Dude since using a rod for fishing I would had a sand Spike for that rod what's up you do get a hit it's going to get cold in I will stick it in the sand like that

@ClickOnProfile117 what do you mean a gift and I was saving those are the wrong stance B for that rod cuz you know if you get some big on that ride. Ride is going swimming you get one of those nice sand spikes and make sure that thing is in deep but if you get something big with that thing with the rod you guarantee you won't lose your rod I got like 6 sand spikes I always make sure my rice not getting nowhere if I got a big blue fish on

I would tap the spike in more and back a little so tip is higher not at a 90 to the water.
