In all the videos she's in, I can't remember ever hearing Clair ask for or gracefully recieve criticism, constructive or otherwise. She's either seeking affirmation, or asking for someone to help her modify equipment. I'd imagine its at least in part due to the editing, but I don't know for certain.

@@vjn4955 being a chef is 100% stressful/tedious. Especially in front of a camera. I was an executive chef for almost 10 years. Even did catering. I would have loved if someone gave me honest, genuine, knowledgeable, specific criticism. Nobody ever wants to tell me anything other than "it's delicious" and that lack of input honestly sucks. I want to get better and I can't if people aren't honest with me. And if you're going to put out recipes thousands of people are going to try, you need honest opinions other than your own.
Claire: “Sumac”
*Brad has entered the chat*
@Just me he really is
Every time someone goes to the spice cabinet, I think to myself "Ohhhh what about sumac?" in Brad's voice.
I honestly wanted to hear more of Christina’s input and ideas moreover than Claire’s. Not saying that I don’t love Claire & all of her wonderfulness, but Christina’s part of this duo and it felt like Claire took over 75% of this project when it should be 50/50.
I agree so much. I love Claire and her ability and passion but she can be a little... entitled or my way or no way sometimes....
Christina is obviously a bit camera shy and Claire was probably just trying to supplement 😊
Claire needs someone like Molly or Brad who can match her energy. Or Carla who has the "mom's talking now" energy. Christina tends to be passive in most of the videos.

FOR REAL THO
LMAO THIS!!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING????
“I don’t need lettuce at Thanksgiving” - Chris. That is an entire mood. The whole Molly moment was awkward hilarious. Agreeing with other comments, Claire is wonderful, but it felt she dominated the episode and Christina didn’t get to make her input heard. Food looked amazing though
I had a similar thought with Claire vs. Christina. It was the least balanced as far as how much each talked/was shown talking, but I will say that Christina doesn't have her own show nor does she (I think almost ever) do cooking demonstration videos, so my thoughts were that there's just a lack of front-of-camera experience that could really be in play here.
I think next time Claire should be paired up with someone who is as assertive or more than her so there will be more of a collaboration than a dictation. I felt that Claire took too much control and Christina just took it as they came. I'd love to see a collab between Christina and Chris tho, or maybe with either Molly and Carla.
Right? They should just let her butt heads with someone as dominant. She seems to bounce off well with Brad and Amiel that I've seen so far.
I think there's a reason Claire usually works alone lol
I'm not done watching yet but is it likely that Claire just took the lead being the more senior character and probably a more experienced chef?
Or priya
Carla might be too much for her also, except she does come off nicely with the back-to-back with celebs, but idk if it's with another chef
I'd personally like to see Christina with Rick or Priya

I wonder if Christina knew they were remaking Molly's recipe the whole time and she just had Molly slowly break it to Claire as her own passive aggressive revenge.
Would explain why she asked out of the blue
Christina's not stupid but definitely afraid of questioning Claire
She is one of the head editors (kinda like that) who taste stuff and make it. She must’ve known Molly’s recipe then
I think more likely it was just that Molly's presence was enough for her to think, "Wait a minute, didn't Molly do a Sprouts recipe?"
I’m annoyed that they didn’t go with Apple cider vinegar in terms of accessibility when it is accessible. And Christina loves it so much!
it's quite expensive though? Maybe that's what they meant. ( I say that as someone who has it every morning haha, but it's more expensive than using lemon/lime)
I think its bc it was the specialty brand apple cider vinger specifically that was not as accessible
It was an agrodolce, which is not the same as an apple cider vinegar. It’s a specialty product.

Sofia Brown I was literally just making a joke bc of Christina’s reaction to Claire’s statement of “just hear me out.” You can clearly see how frustrated she is. Of course Claire wasn’t doing it on purpose or to be malicious... I’m aware of that. It’s just her personality. I’m the exact same way as her...super controlling and opinionated and I know more than anyone how hard that is to control and put away when working with others. I wasn’t trying to attack or offend her, or anyone else. It was just an observation i found in the video, and I was trying to make light of it. I feel like the whole time, with a minor few exceptions, it was her opinion overpowering everything made in this video. Christina made it clear multiple times she felt like she wasn’t being heard. No need to argue, it’s just my personal opinion. If you feel different, good for you.
The only that can handle Claire in a team is the one and only Brad Leone 😂
I think thats because Clair has to handle the video, the cooking, and Brad all at once so she can't be as assertive as she typically is lmao.

Specifically web curated videos, Gourmet Makes, It's Alive, Reverse Engineering, Back to Back Chef, One of Everything, Every Way to Cook, Pro Chef Tries, Andy Learns, and Test Kitchen Talks, are published whenever editing is finished. However, since this season of Making Perfect is about Thanksgiving Feast, the date videos are published is a result of both combined. BA's Thanksgiving issues come out in October and traditionally, all the recipe developing starts in July which is when they filmed this. I'd assume they finished the editing of all episodes in this series, and just waited for the publication of Thanksgiving issue to release the videos.
kamela13 story of my life 😭😭😭 clients being late is the bane of my agency existence
Claire and Christina halfway through: This is by far the best way to cook Brussel sprouts
Molly: I’m gonna ruin these women’s entire careers
"This has really been fun, you guys. I think your energy is great. And, good luck, I mean..." ~ Molly Baz, mic drop
I love Christina! She's so gorgeous and funny! I know Claire is most people's favorite but I'd love to be friends with Christina.
Molly: *answers simple question*
Christina and Claire: *dies of laughter*
Molly: ?????
every time my eyes are blessed with claire saffitz 11 hours are added to my lifespan
But then you spend 11 hours watching claire videos so it evens out
If you think about it every shot change is another instance of this, so theoretically if you watch all the videos you could live forever
This tea......
Every time I see Claire I lose about 30 minutes of my life.
I can't believe the bargain I'm getting!
@@TrashHeapCustodian nah every time you blink
claire: “I think we make a good team”
christina: “yeah, claire dictates and I follow”
Molly seemed ever so slightly pissed when she found out they replicated her recipe.
25:05 "Okay, well...this has been fun, you guys. I think your energy is great...and good luck."
25:11 Claire even seemed to have an awkward expression right afterwards before brushing it off.
Andy: lets do sweet potato
Rest of them: Yh let’s NOT do that
Adnan Kadri I was so confused when they shot that down! I’m a big fan of sweet potatoes at thanksgiving, would rather have them over mashed potatoes but that’s just me.
@@colef2222 I mean, they said that they already had enough starchy foods in the mix, so that's why.
I mean it’s a lot of starch. If I have to choose between sweet potato and rolls I’m gonna choose the bread. 🙃
I feel like most people do sweet potato too sweet - in some kind of syrup, with marshmallows on top. I like sugar, but taht's just too much.
recoil53 I feel the same, but at the same time I love ones my mother makes, but I usually eat them as a dessert. Too sweet for the main meal.
When you are in science class with your partner and it's Claire and she takes over the whole assignment and still get full credit too
Lol... some people just wanna hog all of the sunshine.
And you manage to get an A when being only a C+ student, so the words I think you're looking for are "thank you."
Can’t believe Christina was not paid for appearing for this. Love her. Pay her fairly.
Can you elaborate on that more
Are we not going to talk about the fact that they didn’t even CONSIDER other vegetables besides brussel sprouts!?
right? they could have developed a delicious veg side with carrots, green breans or broccoli, for example
No.
It's like asking if they considered sashimi instead of turkey.... 😜
Those shorts, “flavor town”, guy fierri possessed Chris’ body
Oh god, like the American Dad episode :O
Just needs flip flops and tats.
Mans aint even dead but here he is possessing our beans
His next blindfold on his show should have backwards sunglasses holding it on his head 🤣
maria pizza lolololol
Claire: "I think we make a great team!"
Christina: "..Claire dictates and I follow." 😕
joepesci15000 true
Lmfao
exactly!
I think she said 'do things'
Christina is obviously a bit camera shy.. so she is probably fine with following! 😊
based on y’alls comments there will not be a season 3 of making perfect lmao
And you were right!
@@johngolden3598 Lol I mean I guess directly quote another comment
It's just sad to learn that Christina was not compensated for this video.
grrr doesn't surprise me, look how they constantly disregard her!
Did not realize Christina and Claire would have such clashing opinions 😂
Claire: We make a good team!
Christina: Yeah.. Claire dictates and I follow
30:35
I feel like a lot of times in this video the parts where they discussed their opinions and both agreed was cut out and it just has the parts where Claire explains what they’re going to do. So it seems like Claire is just taking over but really they already agreed off camera and Claire is just stating what they said.
Chris is my entire mood. I’m missing a Mac and cheese though :( That’s one of the big things at Turkey day with my family. That and Parker house rolls.
I've (thankfully) never seen Mac and Cheese at a T-Day dinner. Ever. Mac and cheeze was something we only saw when the parents went out to dinner and needed to throw something at us kids before they left. We ate it. We never really enjoyed it.
@@tanikokishimoto1604 that's a really stuck up response to someone telling their family tradition.
@@tanikokishimoto1604 Sounds like your parents didn't know how to make mac and cheese, because it takes an entire day and can't be "thrown at kids" quickly. 😂 Poor you.
@@gladitsnotme right. Sounds like the parents whipped up some Kraft macaroni and threw it at them. Not at all the type of mac and cheese we eat at Thanksgiving. The sides in this BA series honestly suck. I hope they redo this next year.
Yeah thankfully I've never seen Mac and Cheese at a Thanksgiving dinner. I hate homemade mac and cheese, I'd rather have the boxed stuff. I dont understand the hype of Mac and Cheese. My siblings love when my mom makes it and I'm just like soup it is UwU
Christina: This has been the most challenging thing yet
Claire: first time?
I was annoyed by how much Christina was freaking out and "giving up". She was overreacting and it gave bad vibes throughout the video.0
@@dt6623 that is just her personality... you are just irritable.
@@dt6623 i mean every person who are stressed to the brim will be like that at some point
Claire: I want to choose ingredients that people can easily find at their local grocery store.
Me: Don't worry, nobody is putting that much effort into making salad on Thanksgiving.
Nahla Aly and pomegranate molasses?!?
And date molasses and custom-gene squash... I know!
Or on any day
Yeah i would eat it if I was at someone else's house but im not making that lol, ill stick to turkey, cranberry sauce (not theirs), potatoes and sweet potatoes, stuffing and pie!
honestly watching this series is fun mostly for the ideas they present, there is plenty of stuff i would never make, but the techniques and other stuff are fun.
