everyone talking about noel and karnak but no ones talking about THE RICKY, space age bachelor man was so good oh my god like i felt that energy in my soul
Holy moly this adaptation is amazing! Versions of the characters are so good and it makes them feel as the age they were! The stage design is also incredible! A great use of the space they had and I love that the band is all rats!! I’m honestly so impressed

Really loving this version! Cast is solid. Somewhat unrelated, but I’ve always felt like there is a scene missing that should be between ballad of JD and new birthday song. That transition is such a jarring tonal shift.
I feel the Ballad of Jane Doe has always been missing a few scenes It goes from Jane being a silly joke character to singing the most tragic song in the entire musical. Then straight to New Birthday Song. It feels very unfocused
The Sugar Cloud choreography scratched my brain so good with the Constance’s vocals I can’t explain it and I absolutely adore how well the harmonies come together in this tutorial especially in Sugar Cloud. The harmonies were top tier all throughout it.

I was a little skeptical of the female Karnak at first but she was AMAZING! on another note, I never understood why Constance hated being called nice that much.
NOO i finally thought another production was going to do Fall fair suite version of the intro like the original. Don't get me wrong this is amazing but it just sounded like it would go in that direction 😔

i really admired so many aspects of this production but it makes me sad to once again see a production where they take away Ricky’s disability. There’s so many things that are amazing in this production but that script change is one that just changes certain themes.
Its a hard choice. Keeping Ricky’s disability the way it is in the original is very ableist, but getting rid of it completely creates other issues. I’ve only seen one production manage to do it in a respectable way (until they fired Ricky’s actor because his disability was inconvenient one night)
It killed me when the audience clapped early during noels lament. Not once. TWICE. 💀
I swear this happened in the McCarter version too
