- Sweet Transit, a new train transport sim by Factorio's 3D Artist and developer, Ernestas Norvaišas.
REALLY have been anticipating this game, so I decided to do the basics off-stream with a normal long-form video. - Ігри
"We need more wood to make more people because people obviously come out of wood..."
I mean, he's not wrong...
🤔😯😏🤫
Actually based
Solid conclusion
wood solid confusion
@@georjiep4338 Nice emoticon sequence!
Factorio + Trains
Factorio
Trains
The trains in Factorio: "What am I, CHOPPED LIVER?"
It looks more like Transport Tycoon but you build the city directly too
AA, I really just wanna say that I love how you format the vods, always prefacing with some context and a voiceover.
Thanks! Yeah I think I'll try to keep doing that - appreciate you mentioning that :)
A train sim that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to play?
Yeep - around $20 pretty good deal 🤝🤝🤝
it's not. Have you not seen the pointless restrictions they have, turning the game into busywork tedium instead of actually focusing on expanding and increasing the complexity of the network?
This is by a dude who has worked on factorio. And despite not being a train sim game, factorio train system is orders of magnitude more advanced without even getting mods involved. it is immesurably frustrating to see a great concept, by a dude who worked on one of the greats in the genre of "logistics", screwed up to this degree.

What a sensible response. Have criticisms for a thing? Invalid, make the thing yourself before having criticism!
@@robj4078 Don't worry about him, that's the kind of person that shuts down a coal mine and tells workers to "just learn to code lol"
this reminds me of my previous home. there was a train track directly behind the trailer and it would shake my entire bedroom every single time the train went by. my cat would freak out and hide in the bathtub when we first moved in, but he eventually got so used to it that it wouldn’t even wake him up. i really miss that home. i still live close enough to the tracks to watch it go by every day, but it’s not the same. i’d never imagine i’d become emotional from train transportation, but here i am. this was a really good video 1000/10
The silliest things can remind us of home. For me it's traffic and the smell of fertilizer, because my parents live on both a busy street and closeby to farms.
@@veradrost9654 the sound of semi-busy traffic (i.e. not highway) and buses driving by are the reminders of home for me.
... Wow.
Shortly after the birth of my first son my wife and I had to downsize. We ended up in an apartment stone' s throw from some railroad tracks.
Aside from a squalling baby keeping me awake, the regular eardrum-bursting horn (which is completely necessary in the middle of the fucking night) was just enough to spice up a busy night before a day's work.
@@isaacsanford6340 my dad snores very loud. loud enough that i can hear him when i’m in the other side of the house. because i grew up with that, i rarely wake from loud noises. when i moved to that trailer, the train passing was very similar to my dads snores. the only difference was that it happened during the day and the night and it shook my room. i would be pulled from whatever i was working on or i’d be woken by my bedroom rattling. i sometimes had friends over and their reaction to the train passing for the first time was always funny. it definitely made my life a little less dull
@@queenthot1438 One small thing your father can do to combat that is to place his tongue on the roof of his mouth, in the soft palate. It's tongue-shaped. It's where it goes. This will serve, over time, to strengthen the underside of his chin. Here's hoping he doesn't have an excessive number of those.
That aside... I guess a lot can be said about backgrounds. I always run a fan so as to drown out as much of the bullshit noise of the world as possible. I can't go camping easily, but I never had to adapt to trains and snores. Oof.
4:15 "Part of the joy of this game is in being bad in it before doing everything in an optimized way", this is one of my favorite aspects of games generally. The exploration of the play space, the free and raw creativity of playing with a new game. Looks like a promising game! I'll have to check it out some time
Edit: After watching the entire video, I'll add that this game seems to have good pacing. It seems like a few times as soon as some new content or mechanic became "unlocked" was right when you needed it. A train car that transports new cut stone, or a new resource type added right when things were starting to stabilize. This game loos very well paced, or at least the first hour of gameplay looks good!
I gotta say, I'm a huge fan of this format, your narrative style, and the bluesy piano music this game chose to include. The combination of the mellow format, your naturally soothing voice, and the immaculately composed soundtrack makes the perfect viewing/listening experience.
When you want trains to be able to take branching paths if one is blocked, like say different tracks at a station to prevent them lining up even if there are available platforms, you need a Chain Signal at the junction where you want it to pick. Otherwise with a normal Rail Signal it will just wait until the way it wanted to go when it left the previous station is emptied.
Factorio + Trains, this seems like an awesome combo :D
Factorio + Trains is just Factorio.
Its Factorio - everything but trains. lol
It seems from steam comments that it's actually a good train managment but bad city builder mechanics
HI TRUPEN!
i think its more like Factorio + Anno
Your voice makes me want to fall asleep but at the same time it intrigues me enough that you could upload a 12 hour video about the most boring of stuff and I'd still watch it without being bored or fall asleep.
I wanted to scream when you built an entirely new rail line trough the middle of the loop instead of doubling the much shorter track between the coal mine and the warehouse lol
This has been a really nice change of pace, just a long relaxing video. Love to see more videos like this
Oh my god, those train horns sound exactly like the Roller Coaster Tycoon ones. You can't imagine how much of a nostalgic feeling that gave me
Today's VOD brought to you by the word "Granular" :D
Please try Open TTD! It is free and maintained by a community with a ton of mods. It’s great.
My thoughts exactly. Such an amazing game!
Omg. I had a brief flirt with OpenTTD about 12-14 years ago and then completely forgot about it. Time to check it out again!!
I just tried it but couldn't see the hype... the interface is the worst I have ever used. Copy a line? Have fun. Instead, maybe give Simutrans a go - its another TT clone but... different. Also freeware open source goodness.
@@Dunkelseele The interface sure takes some getting used to. But saying it's bad because you can't copy a line is just ridiculous. The game is not easy and you shouldn't just be able to place things where-ever. It's not meant to be played like that. Despite its age and clunky interface, it has more depth than most games these days, and probably some of the best railway mechanics.
My god Open TTD is fucking amazing. Every train game I play I compare to it. So far the only one to come close is Factorio for me.
I'm such a fan of your longplay content. The PZ challenges made me fall back in love with the format, and your take on it is relaxing and entertaining, don't stop!
This was really fun to watch you walk through, I hope to see more of it!
I can always count on you to make a good game recommendation. Really enjoy your videos
I’m so entranced by the way you explain things that I didn’t realize I was watching the vod for a while
Factorio + Trains = Factorio. It has trains xD
Honestly loving the long simulation game playthroughs. Even more than the shorter videos on your main, despite the less polished story telling narrative. Wish more would come sooner! Keep it up!
Man if only there were trains in factorio
Ikr
Somebody needs to mod it in!
god can you imagine getting run over by one. Ugh.
Factorio [has trains] + trains.
Must be alot of trains
Oh my, logistics game. I do like logistics.
AA, the pace and timbre of your voice sounds laced with anxiety. Your presentations are marvelous.
When you're having fun, we're having fun.
I love the variety of games you cover Mr. Amphibian
Oh, those houses and the general art style remind me a Lot of Anno
As someone who love OpentTTD, this looks right up my alley
Cole Train Runs on Whole Grain, Baby! Whoo! Was what I was thinking from gears 3
Bless you Ambiguous with these long videos ❤️
Lovein' the long-form vids!
"I haven't had a train Crash yet but I'm Really looking Forward to when it happens." The way this was said with next to no emotion was horrifyingly hilarious.
I am thoroughly enjoying this longform content. Thanks!
Would love another of these. You have a very calming voice.
When I noticed that you didn’t have your coal train dropping coal off to C H I C A G O, I was STEAMING.
That was the first thing i noticed when he mentioned sending coal to Chicago. He built them but didn't use them for most of the video lol
This review generously paid for by the potato merchants guild of Chicago.
i didn't knew you had a vods channel, great video AA, this game looks very interesting.
I had no idea you liked to play with basically a more detailed version of Model Railroad building. I totally get it - it saves the money and space of a physical diorama and allows for private nerdsim satisfaction. No judgement - this looks like fun and also like Factorio style games. Keep 'em coming :)
love that you are making coltrane references
Great video, keep up great work, im looking forward for Kenshi 2!
got halfway through the video before going to steam and getting the game, hope you're happy
When you were talking about making another train to take coal to the warehouse and what to name it, I immediately thought of John Coltrane as the best name possible. I'm glad you thought of it too!
definitely keen for more videos like this
this long format was nice but I am still looking forward to one of your cut highlight style videos of this game; like seeing you go from starting to 2000 people will be cool
Reminds me of a cross of Factorio and OpenTTD (which I see the Yogs play in December)
At least one, maybe more, of the Factorio Devs developed OpenTTD Packs early in his career. So its not really a surprise.
@@MytronixOfficial that's cool.
Fantastic definitely want to see more very soon 😊👍🏽
30:05 epic voice crack. Love it!
Great video mate! Remember, even if what you doing in the game may not be optimal, logicalizing with that smooth voice makes it all OK!
Thank you for providing a good guide for this new game i picked up!
people on the track gave me images of those old black and white scenes of a villain in a top hat and cloak with a long mustache tying a damsel in distress to the track.
This looks like a fantastic mix of Transport Tycoon and the Anno games
Normally I play Rimworld, but this game looks interesting. Thanks for sharing 😊👍
Adding a single passenger car to the potato loop and maybe some others that stop in town would help moderate the passenger trains load, or a second loop of workers.
Interesting to see your method on a wholly new game. See, I would always build things like the train stations or other central buildings first. And then build the housing or production around those areas. But you seem to be doing it the other way around.
I will definitely have to check this game out. Though as a person I usually want to wait until the full game is released. Since I am bad at returning to games I've already played.
I want to call this "Trainno 1800" It is very similar to anno 1800 but with emphasis on trains instead of steam ships. I like Anno 1800, but you can only use trains to transport oil cars.
The paradox of a one way loop has broken me
Yes yes, Build the things, put it next to the stuff and add a nice whatchamacallit too!
this looks like a cozy yet challenging game
Will defs need to check it out! :D
pls play this again i was glued to the screen the whole time
NICE! GET IN MY STEAM LIBRARY!!!
I like that the music is kind of like in Trains & Trucks Tycoon from 2002. hardcore nostalgia
I’m sure you have heard this before but you do make me laugh. You are a funny chap - and I say this unironically. Keep up the good work you ambiguous amphibian you ☺️
Oh no, I thought we'd start seeing 6 way intersections and rhomboidal town design
Ey very nice video i like that content
Wow a train game that let's you build other infrastructure than just the trains? Awesome!
i feel that i have a dire need to play this game now.
Hey i know you dear sir.
The game feels pretty nifty, but I can't get over the fact that tracks don't really curve.
with the updates since your video, the train checks for fuel when it arrives at a station and just before it departs. also Warehouse now has roads to give more room to expand and add stations.
I'd make the gap between the platforms 3 wide so you can have a bypass route, if both slots are filled with the Proletariat train and the load/unload train
I desperately need a new openTTD game with modern graphics.
Maybe Transport Fever 2?
This game looks like it’s gonna be unplayable because every time I play it I’ll fall asleep from the soothing soundtrack and sounds.
The game mechanic where it equally spaces out multiple signals if you click and drag is *brilliant* - I wonder how well it would work in factorio.
Kinda reminds of Railroad Tycoon, except that you also build the cities you service.
For the wood route , why not "Woodstock Express" ? XD and you should use the chain signal at the start & end of your intersection & train station to have a better flow and space between your train , the tutorial in the game is pretty awesome, i STRONGLY recommend it to everyone how want to use signal before starting in the game :D
More of this please 💜
This is like railway empire, which i really liked.
Tupac laying down some sick country rhythms for the soundtrack.

The city building reminds me of the Anno Games
Reminds me of the Aunty Donna board game.
Trade one wood for one wood, which means you have a wood and win the game.
this game is anno+factorio. You should play anno
4:20 Oh yeah, exactly. When you're soo good at the game that you start optimizing the fun out and are left with tedious efficiency.
I am buying this RIGHT NOW
hey dude this is great
This reminds me more of Anno + Factorio
50:10 aww i can listen to your heart how cute
Its prety interesting how here you got one way tracks going in a loop with detours to the side i wonder how big you can make a system of this type before it becomes ineficient, i think there has to be a reason for most trains irl to go 2 ways its for sure more eficient on complicated routes but i wonder how much more dificult is it to make a system like that in this game
train robberies would be an amazing addition to that game, just my opinion.
The opportunities for puns are endless.
Yeah. That tracks...
they turned factorio trains tutorial into a standalone game
game looks neat :)
oh look, its trasport tychoon remake. löooks fabulous to play
Lionel trains on the Nintendo DS was basically just like this
This gives me big Anno vibes
Reminds me of Mashinky. Personally, I am really looking for the spiritual successor to Pop Top's game Railroad Tycoon. Most games focus too much on micromanagement and not enough on managing the business.
Please give us more of this game
That graphics reminds me of They are billions
love this game
Man…I haven’t watched the video yet but I know what game this is and I have to say…my favorite thing as a child, even before vidya was that I’d mount simulated train supply lines with my grandpa motorized train models, I’d make whole runs between my little cities bringing resources and simulating an economy…I was four years old when I started doing that, then I discovered trading simulation games of all kinds which simulated supply lines(patrician or rise of Venice or port royale for example) and then I discovered city builders of all types and Then i got into railroad tycoon style games where you ran trains and supply lines…now this game…this game is a mix of all those, it speaks to my autism on a spiritual level.
