I am looking at Winston-Salem & Greensboro NC and Greenville SC, and I have to say that this looks more beautiful and more like a "real city!"
    Great job, Greenville!

one saturday i went to down town in columbia and the other i went to fown town in greenville there is simply no comparison that greenville full of people and columbia is supposed to be the state capital it seemed like a ghost town

You must not have been on Main Street that Saturday then. Look up Saturday on main. Plus, it depends where you are. Columbia is so spread out with many different districts. Greenville is compact and everything is close together which gives it its charm. Greenville is an excellent city and has come a long way from when I grew up there when it was a mill town.

Columbia is a hood with out the USC and the State Capital. Downtown is actually very dangerous for a while. There was a lawmaker from Illinois who was shot there. Stay away from Columbia.

What side has the best neighborhoods?
    North, south, east, or west?
Weve been looking in the low 200s

In the north, Montebello. The Eastside is covered in good neighborhoods from the expensive Thornblade to much more affordable Botany Woods. The south has the most historic and prestigious neighborhoods surrounding Augusta Street/colloquially called Augusta Road like Alta Vista. Southern suburbs of Mauldin and Simpsonville very nice especially Five Forks. The Westside may fit more into your budget around the up-and -coming Village at West Greenville and Arts District. Hope this helps!

I thought this was a peaceful area. Evidently a lot of rude blasting noise from rude people in cars.

A peaceful area in 2024 is some Midwestern cornfield in the middle of nowhere.
