Guy-Manuel seems to be the introvert side, whereas Thomas seems to be extrovert part of the duo. This type of combo often produces amazing results and success. For example: Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs of Apple; Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates at Microsoft.
For those who are wondering which robot is talking. Thomas, the Silver Helmet, is the one mostly talking through the whole interview. Guy-Man, the Gold Helmet, does not talk much since he is really shy, but he starts talking at 8:40 and 9:02

Apparently guy man is focusing on his passion of aliens and sticking with French House, while Thomas (who has distanced himself from his DJ friends - implied by Thomas Edwards) is focusing more on video/film
From what I've heard Thomas developed hearing problems back around 2002, mostly due to him being an advid DJ at clubs and the like throughout the 90's and early 2000's. While it did get better over time, in the last few years its gotten much worse and was a major factor in daft punk retiring. It would make sense for him to have moved away from music in order to pursue other projects he's interested in.

Glad Thomas is pursuing what he loves, they gave us some fantastic music, I'm intrigued to see what he does in film.
