i love the explosion of love these ps2 games have been getting in the past few years. These 2 games (and journey to jaburo) were my childhood day off binge if i didnt want to watch Gundam series. Great Video all in all! Plus plus love how you found some of the "secret" what if gameplay events.

I got way way more fun with part 2.. encounters in space. The gameplay was faster by a mile. But games was fun. But encounters blow my mind. It felt like zone of the enders the 2nd runner. I have to replay encounters in space

I really need to play ZoE. I already like MGS and mecha but just haven't jumped into them yet.

@@FiresideGamingReviews Oh, you will love it bro. The story is really good. The first one is way shorter then the 2nd runner (part 2). Part to has a better story & gameplay. But both of them feels so much like Gundam

I was already considering checking them out this year but this is another good argument for me to do so.

I remember disliking EiS for some reason, but it looks more fun than I remember, so I think I may try it out again. Maybe it'll hit different now

I hope it does. I might be in the minority but it really stuck with me.

I thought the controls and mechanics of Encounters in Space felt gross and strange. You're the first person I've seen who liked it more than Journey to Jaburo. Encounters in Space did have many neat concepts though, like the KOEI style custom pilot trainer. I can still play Journey to Jaburo's Tactics Battles, but the last time I tried Encounters in Space, I only played for an hour at most. I think another area they messed up on was the team vs team mode. Encounters in Space should've had a mode like Tactics Battle, such as a Musai surrounded by asteroids and plenty of suits versus your team. Team vs team only is like if you only had the Blue Destiny and Alex battles. It was still a nice experience when I first bought the game, but I always felt really let down with Encounters in Space.

Interesting that we have such opposing opinions on the two games. I've never actually talked with anyone else about them as this was my first time playing them. Back around their original release, my friends and I were playing Federation vs. Zeon instead.

@@FiresideGamingReviews I only got to play Federation vs. Zeon once with a friend. Some people still say it's their favorite Gundam game. I'll need to get it one day for the full experience. I was lucky enough to find myself a copy of Zeonic Front in 2010 for $4 at a GameStop.

@@frost8077 It's a lot of fun but I'd say Gundam Battle Chronicle is my personal favorite. It's Japan-only on PSP but easy enough to play without a translation. There's also an expanded version called Gundam Battle Universe that I have no experience with but it has more suits. As for Zeonic Front, I've never made it too far into the game. Always got stuck on the mission with the RX-78-2, Guntank, and Guncannon.

@@FiresideGamingReviews Japan also had Lost War Chronicles on PS2 that was like an improved Journey to Jaburo. It's funny how many Gundam games were on the PS2 and how they all differed greatly from each other. I can't think of any other series that continually reinvents the wheel like Gundam games.

@@frost8077 You're not wrong. Gundam games really just continue to change things up every chance they get. I didn't know Lost War Chronicles was a game. I read the manga fan translation years ago and enjoyed it.
