Thank you very much for showing your lesson behind the scenes! 😍 It really helps me understand how I'm going to teach my students in a couple of weeks 🙈 I'm a bit afraid
I will have a full class of 25-30 Chinese students for a whole hour per lesson via internet so I need to find lesson plans and styles especially for each semester.
This was an amazing video!🥰 Within a few weeks I will have my first ever English class as a teacher with Chinese kids, between the age 7-9, beginner level. I am not experienced in teaching at all (I'm a first year English teacher major at the university) and English is not my first language either. I have no idea how to start the teaching, how to get close to them, how to explain the things to them, what topics to talk about. Can you recommend me books for teaching English for beginner kids? And do you have some tips for me? Thank you so much for your answer in advance😊
Hi Zsofi, I'm so ext for you 🙌 I don't have any book recommendations however I recommend modeling other teachers. Watch how they teach and you will pick up your own style and confidence in front of the students. 🙏👌
Hey Christina! What a lovely video, you are such a great teacher! I am going to begin teaching English to three complete beginner kids very soon and am looking very hard for some kind of curriculum book to structure my lessons around. Do you happen to know of such a book? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Rupert👋 thank you so much. Are you teaching in school? The platforms I use to teach online provide the lessons for me so I don't do any lesson planning or create my own curriculum. Sorry I can't be of any help but look online for teachers who are in the same domain and maybe they can help 👍🏽
Hey hun hope you are well. Sorry we haven't been able to visit you for a while we were in Bulgaria then Malta were we got stuck due to Covid and flights we're cancelled. But great to catch up with you again. Can't believe we missed your live stream but will do my best to catch up with you again on the next one. Stay safe and catch up again real soon God bless.
Thank you so much! I just started my TEFL course. Im wondering, if there's a schedule/plan to follow in terms of lessons? Are lessons provided or do you have to come up with your own lessons? Do learners ever have to take tests? Maybe im jumping the gun, since im still very early in my TEFL course, but im just trying to understand what the process is from beginning to end with teaching, lessons, testing, grading, etc? Please help 🙏🏼
Hi Charelle 👋 yes, there is a schedule to follow. The course is organized in sets of lessons and quizzes. If you pass all the quizzes you will get your digital TEFL certificate that you can download and print out. It's pretty simple and straight to the point. Hope this helps 👍
Hi Jessica 👋 yes I would recommend starting with a good understand of how to teach English as a second language. You can do this with a TEFL certificate and then start offering spoken English as a service on platforms like Preply. Here is a video to help you with this process. ua-cam.com/video/xX54mesQMtg/v-deo.html

Do you have any tips for advertising and acquiring more students? At the moment my actual lessons are going very well and my students and their parents seem to really like me. But it's when it comes to getting more students that I fall short.

Hello Christina, I heard on one of Ralph's videos that you have a nursing degree. I'm an RN with 30 years experience, 20 of which are in critical care, thinking of retiring abroad in about 3 years. I'm trying to look into ways I can make some extra money to supplement my retirement if needed. Teaching English is obviously an option, despite the fact English is my second language (I'm fluent in written and spoken Spanish), but I wonder if I could use my nursing experience as well. Which would be more profitable and less stressful? lol As you know, money is not everything and there's no price you can place on a stress free life. Thanks!!!
Hi Juan, Yes I graduated with a BSN.🤗 To answer your question, a nursing job will be more profitable although it won't be stress free. There so the option to be a traveling nurse, where you are contracted to work in different countries for a period of time. By the way, English is my third language 🙌 and a long as you have a neutral accent you can teach for many companies. I think what I've learned here is that managing the money that you have is so important. Making money is great but your quality of life will depend on how you spend your money and time. I thinking you should look into how you want to live your life on a day to day basis and the experiences you want to have when you retire. With that mindset you'll be able to focus on lifestyle which will allow you to make the best decision as to how to supplement your income. I hope this helped 🙏 and let me know if you have any questions or video ideas 😊
Christina Clesca I thank you for your answer and time. Your answer is very helpful.
