About time! Phil is a very underrated guitarist. Tightest there is.

Happy for Phil he is a monster songwriter. I didn't know Peter was involved with Charvel so that was a nice little easter egg to find. I will have to look more into that!
Not a floyd guy but for this I'll make an exception. Been waiting for a Phil sig for so long. Congrats, well earned.
I think you can block them no? Ive heard alot of people like the floyd bridge blocked better than a standard bridge. You can always unblock it again if you want to dive bomb
Phil mainly played the rhythm guitar parts live but started taking over the leads when Nick left so i am not really sure if he always had a floyd or not.
As I lay dying will forever be one of my fav metal band and this guy takes lots of credit for that! Love from Taiwan 🇹🇼
Will be picking up one of these next year. Been looking forward to a Phil Signature for quite a while as he’s one of my favorite guitarists of all time, let alone a riff God and makes AILD the powerhouse that they are. This guitar really looks great! For years I've wanted a So-Cal or a San Dimas with the heel joint of a DK24.
or a strat with the dk24 joint. i wonder why they still do those heel joints that start on the 8th fret!

Very cool, I like the design - curious however why you did not go with a 24-fret - and would like to hear a little more about the pickup - how it functions and sounds with different amps and settings
It’s similar to an EMG 81 in the active mode, and similar to an EMG 57 in passive mode. I think the sound quality is a little better than EMGs, but I’m not really an active pickup guy. I have an Ibanez that came stock with Fishmans and I replaced them with Dimarzios.
I just wish it had 24 frets! Regardless, this is the perfect superstrat
Love it! Just wish it has a single coil in the neck and a back plate (those style bolt ons just look so ugly to me.) The headstock logo, silver burst and inlays look so good though!

You must be thinking of Nick Hipa because Phil has been in AILD since 2003.
@@bucknasty69 I'm aware. Nick was the lead guitarist, and better guitar player, and the best member.
@@joshsmith7033 Ken Susi is a good replacement for Nick as a lead player. His work in Unearth is kickass. He can shred. Phil wrote most of their coolest riffs anyway.

Phil pretty much writes most of the riffs and is definitely the more technical of the two
