No. Do I have to pretend he’s a good person to like his music? No. Do his personal choices change the sound of his music? No. We don’t know Tim and we never will. We can appreciate the music anyways
No, we don't "need" to separate anything. Who made that up? It's such an empty, meaningless thing to say. People don't have to support anyone who does something that goes against their morals. They don't need to line this criminal's pockets because you love some songs he sang.
Even in how he speaks about his previous members, there is a level of pettiness. He names Josh leaving, but doesn't name Nick or Jordan by name. Also primary songwriter doesn't mean their wasn't contribution from Jordan, Josh or Nick. On the Wovenwar records, they are credited with songwriting, so I very much doubt over however many years, they didn't write their own parts. What still bothers me to this day, is that he is the common denominator for why everything fell apart, but makes out that it everything to do with them, and nothing to do with him.
I don’t care about what this guy did he did his time and as I lay dying is my favorite band they got me into this music. I just want to see them make music.

The majority of people that claim to be Christians are full of it themselves. 99% chance that when you get to church the person next to you are a hypocrite. When I was a kid working in a restaurant we used to have a set of pentecostal preachers that would come in and eat lunch and then sit around and drink wine for several hours. ( Referring to the comment section , not the video itself) Whenever i see people hate or criticize Tim for his past mistakes , it makes me really sad. You guys don't know how thin the thread is between sanity and insanity . Imagine what he was going through back then...Mind you, what he did was more than wrong . There are times in your life where evil leads you astray from your path but the thing is that there's always a chance to redeem yourself by becoming the best version of yourself and living an honest and peaceful life , your past does not matter. Tim payed the price for what he did . I've heard people that loved AILD say that they stopped listening to them because of Tim's personal life. Grow the fuck up , music is music. just that . If i enjoy listening a riff from AILD's old records , i just DO . Anyway i am glad to see that he is a better person now . Every one deserves a second chance in life . The only thing that matters is what you do to make other people's lives better. And i think he still does that with his music.
HE TRIED TO HAVE A WOMAN MURDERED. The way you freakshows act like he got in a fight at a bar. Goodbye.
Why were you gone Tim?? What could you possibly have been up to? How's traveling to other countries going?
I was optomistic about your path forward tim. That was until i watched this video. Everybody knows you and phil didnt write everything solely by yourselves. You are a talented dude, but at least make it clear that the others had a strong presence. Nick, josh, jordan and all the rest played their parts equally as well as you do.
@Sussy Apes but hes claiming that only him and phil wrote the songs, which is entirely incorrect.
I'm pretty sure Jordan had a big part in writting,Tim and Jordan built the band. Nick is an excellent guitarrist I don't know if he wrote anything, but being that talented I assume he probably wrote all those solos and what not.
@Sussy Apes point #5 in its entirety. Check out at 5:13 in the interview
@Sussy Apes bro the ENTIRE video he just kept saying "him and Phil" lmao
@Sussy Apes anyways...
Bury us all has to be their best song. Fucking brutal
Worst song on An Ocean Between Us imo, it’s what stops the album from being 10/10, it’s at a 9.9 for me because of that.
@@jacks910 what? I love all the tracks on that album but that on had to be the darkest and heaviest out of them all. Solo is gnarly
@@markolivares6943 It’s a solid song for sure, but included with all the other tracks on the album, it doesn’t compare to the heights of those other songs.
@@jacks910 I agree 👍
Not anymore. BURDEN!
They're still a thing?
Do you regret trying to kill your ex-wife or regret the fact that you hired an undercover cop instead of a real killer?
If you actually knew the case and what really happened you would have seen he was set up by his then wives brother. It wasn't even his idea. His wife's brother came to him and put the idea in his head. Read the interview right when he came out then you would see he was setup

I had tickets to the show in KC and I cancelled after the entire band quit. I love Tim and AILD will forever be my favorite band. But they’re done. Tim needs to go on and do his own thing… he’ll definitely have us fans
Tim is as I lay dying. He owns the rights to it. Plenty of bands have changed lineups over the years. Just because you don't like the lineup right now doesn't mean that they aren't who they are are now.
@@robertzil1801 true. The new line up is actually really awesome, but just because it’s awesome doesn’t mean it’s still the same band. To say “Tim is AILD” is kind of dumb though, no offense.
@@erickerstet but he literally is. He is the one that started the band. Tim and Jordan have sole rights to the band. Well at least Jordan did idk about it now
@@robertzil1801 right. Just because I start a band doesn’t mean “I am the band” 😬🤷♂️

Dude you look like Jason Momoa
I see a lot of comments talking about Tim as person. Here’s the thing we need to separate the art from the artist. I love As I lay dying. Do I know anything about Tim personally?
They don't need to line this criminal's pockets because you love some songs he sang.
you should probably find different music to like
I completely agree
Even in how he speaks about his previous members, there is a level of pettiness. He names Josh leaving, but doesn't name Nick or Jordan by name. Also primary songwriter doesn't mean their wasn't contribution from Jordan, Josh or Nick. On the Wovenwar records, they are credited with songwriting, so I very much doubt over however many years, they didn't write their own parts.
What still bothers me to this day, is that he is the common denominator for why everything fell apart, but makes out that it everything to do with them, and nothing to do with him.
As I Lay Bulking
As I Change Lineups
How much of AILD is actually left? 80% of the bandmembers which defined the band quit..
60%* Phil stayed
Kinda hard to believe anything this guy says anymore.
Somethings off about Tim. He has some weird thing going on with his lips. Doesn't seem right
it's probably the fact that he tried to kill his wife

If the hitman he hired was not an undercover cop, his wife and children's mother would be dead now. This is no different than being a murderer. The guy is pathetic.
it’s refreshing to know the people who are normally role modes don’t really have to be or don’t have to have led perfect, sinless lives. that being said, i think it’s far better to pardon Tim for the sake of art then to continue idolizing people like lil nas X, cardi b, meg “Thee” stallion, bad bunny….
it's no coincidence that you pardon a white guy who tried to kill his wife and condemn a bunch of people of color whose only crimes are like... being happy

Why did you try to have your wife killed?
She was gonna take the kids
@@kingjoseph5901 That doesn't justify killing her. Plus she was taking them because she felt he had become dangerous, meaning she was scared of him. He proved that by hiring someone to kill her but the person he hired was a fed and had him arrested.
There is no justification for what he did and he himself has admitted that he could've sorted things out differently and admits what he did was horrible so people who defend him are defending something he himself doesn't even stand by anymore. Parents split up all the time and separate but most don't try to have the other killed for it. So there is no excuse.
I was a big fan but sorry to say, this As I Lay Dying band is literally dying, as their name suggest.

This dude tried to have his wife murdered. Anything he says is just moot. Oh and also claims to be a Christian
The majority of people that claim to be Christians are full of it themselves. 99% chance that when you get to church the person next to you are a hypocrite. When I was a kid working in a restaurant we used to have a set of pentecostal preachers that would come in and eat lunch and then sit around and drink wine for several hours. After about three hours of them drinking they would sit around and talk about how the “Jews and ni***ers‘s are taking over the world.” That type of talk coming from people of that type of character fits the bill perfectly for a so-called “Christian”.
