The perfect amount of guitars is

This is the kind of mathematics i like.
Noice!

"Every guitarist needs a Samurai Jenny by his side." That is a great quote. Love all the clips, you're a great player and I enjoy your versatility! Thank you
It's awesome to see a guitar player I admire talk and play some inexpensive guitars and treating them like any other instrument in his/her collection. Thanks for all the (indirect) encouragement on my guitar journey!

Hi samuraiguitarist and samuraijenny! After watching this, I wanted to tell you about my wife. I just wrote this to a stranger asking opinions on purchasing a Les Paul. While writing this I thought I should share it with you also. Read if you want. I know it’s a little lengthy.
Hey Paul! I’m Philip from CA. If it has to be a USA, this probably won’t help you, but I’m just going to leave this here anyway. Cheers! There are collector pieces and player pieces. Also there are Epiphone, and Orville Les Pauls. I know Gibson is #1 but have you seen all 2020 Epiphone reviews? it’s pretty crazy. First of all, the headstocks! Right!?! The first one that caught my eye was the Worn Purple Classic. Then I saw it at a store, I almost bought it. It has the worn finish that for me feels so much better to play. And it was purple! I did not buy it because I have too many guitars. I like non traditional colors as well as the classics. The next one that caught my eye, the Joe Bonamassa Black Beauty. Wow! BLACK!GOLD!THREE!CUSTOM! And, these 2020 Epis are brand new which means they’re available at easy payments with zero interest! I did not buy it because I have too many guitars. I didn’t come as close to buying it as the purple Classic but i was really thinking about it for a while. And finally the Caribbean. THIS THING IS AWESOME! it’s got all the features, and I couldn’t stop looking at it. I asked my wife to buy this for me!!!!!! I showed her the payment plans and SHE SAID YES!!!!! Now I had the “excuse to myself,” I’m not buying this one, it’s a gift. I added the Caribbean to the shopping cart and waited for its stock arrival date. I wish i could say I did not buy it because I have too many guitars. But the truth is, i didn’t buy it because it never came back in stock. Also, it’s good that I didn’t buy it because have too many guitars. My wife’s cool. I gotta show this to samuraig. (He just posted some cool stuff about partners and guitars). Anyway the Epiphone 2020s. They are ALL so worth it. I would go for one of these if I didn’t have too many already.
Just by how nice they play, the parts used, and the headstock. I really would like a 2020 EPI. But I know I do not need it.
Another observation. Remember these are all opinions and I do not mean to harm any with them. It’s just my personal observation, but when speaking of big brother G, most people say a lot of the newer products under around the 1.5k mark aren’t that great, and we seem to be paying for just the name. BUT, in my personal experience, I own a Series 2 M2, and it plays great. I love it. I believe that’s the most inexpensive USA to ever be sold by them, and I have no complaints. I know that it technically isn’t a Les Paul, but I’m referring to the makers. If I was looking for like a special, or worn, studio, or jr, and couldn’t really try before I buy, I would want one made in the 90s. Again, that’s just my opinion. And I just really felt like writing tonight. I hope you end up with an AWESOME Lester Paul.
My wife’s name: Jennifer.
Oh no, he’s wearing the Cursed Train Wreck shirt again. By this, I mean it’s so bad you just can’t look away.
True
Cool guy so I won’t say what I think of people who wear a shirt with their own picture on it, maybe if you’re not moving merch ya gotta do something with it? 🤓
@@rustyaxelrod hahaha I'm sure it's just a subtle merch shill, or maybe he's making fun of himself because it is a cursed train wreck of a shirt. Also, if you notice around 9:21 or so the shirt wrinkles in such a way to distort his face into looking like he has a giant forehead and no nose xD

Thank you for sharing your guitar collection with us! And YES! It IS wonderful having your own Samurai Jenny!
SamuraiJenny is awesome - the candid banter between both of you is very natural & adds great quality to many videos - she should b in more videos
Wow. Quite the collection sammy G. Love to see a guitarist who is able to use each instrument, even some older inexpensive ones, to there full potential each capturing their own individuality.
I'm in the 1 in 10 too - the Reverse-V looks incredible. I imagine it's a total pain-in-the-hole to play, but worth it to look that awesome
I've played one, and you HAVE to use a strap or it slips off your legs when you sit down. You can try to rest it horizontally on both legs, but thats really uncomfortable
man, you have SO much room for activities!!! congrats on the new place. keep on keepin' on!
That tears it! Seeing your strats makes me actually want one.
Thank you for these wonderful videos man. You rock!
Sammy: we have to track down Tyson.

It's such a delight to see musicians doing great in life! Way to go brother and please make a new series where you serenade your family with different guitars at a campsite while the fire crackles in the background
I like how honest your videos always sound. just discussions with friends
Baby samurai! Sending love to the fam. Your family makes me happy.
you can make impressive music with only one guitar but man as a compulsive buyer myself I must say it, sometimes inspirations comes in the form of a new guitar
i’ve been waiting for this for too long.
Thanks so much for for this entertaining and actually wholesome video!
Very interesting to hear the stories
It is awesome having so many guitars. I have tried to get all the different types you could get.
We are BOTH missing a Selmer Maccaferrie Gypsy Jazz "Petite Bouche" guitar which I will have one day.
Thank you for sharing and yes, many of my guitars came to me. I did not ask for them but somehow people knew what I wanted.

Great video! So nice to get this little peek into your family.
I used to have about 40 guitars at one time as well, but then i made a conscious decision to trade quantity for quality and have been much happier ever since. Of course I'm not saying that is what everyone should do, but it worked for me.
Sammy G throughout this entire video: “So this is my guitar*”
"Anways this is my other guitar"
That video is so wholesome!!! I love it 😍🥺❤
Congrats sammy G! You guys are my favorite youtube family, and your baby is adorable :~)
I had 2 guitars and my missus made a rule, “1 in 1 out” ... that rule lasted a week, I now have 6 and she hates it
You really need to add a PRS into the collection, would've been awesome, they are beautifull looking, very well made and some of the costum ones has some unique touchs to it, besides, of course, the amazing sound, you should look for one some time man, Love your vids!! 🤘🏼
What a beautiful house! Congratulations on the new place Sammy G :)
I just saw your Paul Davids contribution... nice work! Impressive. Thanks for "playing along". ;)

I'm lucky enough to have a supportive other half as well. It's just great to have someone who understands how important instruments are. 👍👍
Love how GuitarJenny was freaking out with you about the guitar slide!!! :D
The reverse Flying V rename: *the falling v*

My heart broke when I saw the art and lutherie. That was my first guitar that I got as a grad present from the money my dad gave me. I stupidly sold it to some old dude last year for 140 because I was short on money, and I regret it often :( if I'm not mistaken that is the wild cherry
I have exactly half the number guitars you have and am now inspired to add to the arsenal. Rock on!!!!
Dude. That Reverse Flying V is amazing! Same with the reverse strat. I've found the style of guitar I never knew I needed 😂
The number of guitars you need is always what you have +1.
Words of wisdom from Music Is Win!
One acoustic, one or two electrics, maybe a bass guitar... that's all a guitarist really needs. For a touring musician, one additional backup guitar. Anything beyond that is just a waste of money.
@@rookmaster7502 Rook master more like rook mASSter amirite
@@jwaj No, I just believe in spending money wisely. Buying 20 guitars is just as foolish as buying 20 microwave ovens.
@@rookmaster7502 You do you I guess 🤘
This makes me feel better about having ‘only’ 9 guitars
Makes me want an electric guitar more than ever
Same, 8 goin on here…🙏👌
Enjoy your videos. Glad to see I'm not the only person that's holding on to a late 80s fender USA strat. Their great as far as I can tell sound good and play great .
Man, I've scrolled passed this video over and over feeling like this'll be one of those "look at all the cool guitars I have!" that's likely to go in one ear and out the other. But, wow, it brought a lot of warm genuine smiles in my face.
My mom asked me one time "Why do you need so many guitars?" (I have 8). I answered her "The same reason you and Dad have 3 kids.....each one is different and unique and each one is good at something" (my brother, organizing, myself, being creative, drawing, designing, my sister, great teacher).
You can "NEVER" have to many Guitars. You're collection is so much larger than mine. I only have 11 Guitars 3 are acoustic, and the rest are electric. And 1 well used ( bought from a second hand charity shop) ukulele. It looked sooo sad sitting on the floor collecting dust. So it came home with me, and is played most days. It's a Toy Story but for a musical instrument.. . . . . . but that's not enough. It's never gonna be enough, I just love Guitars !
You have some stunning Guitars Sir.
Use "erm" well
Oh and congrats on the new baby
Kind Regards

My dad has a Fender F-35! I've spent so many hours of my youth learning to play that thing. It's not particularly great but it's pretty sturdy and makes for a great living room guitar.
I remember that reverse flying-v! Glad you're doing well man!
omg, the video of you as a baby melted my heart! (my wife and I just had our son a few months back, so baby stuff hits different now-a-days)
I've done the paper-clip challenge with a friend, I actually ended up with the guts of a JCM800 combo!
Edit: I've restored the combo & my friend still has his broken lawn mower.
This is so cool haha!!! But probably you would have better worked in that time, and earned your money on that way, or wasn’t it that time consuming?
Dude you're just such a cool guy, and you seem like an awesome dad, don't stop being life
That's an amazing collection Sam. I'm surprised though you don't have a banjo or regular uke. Also there was an interesting looking instrument in the background. New idea for a video "instruments that don't belong in the guitar classification"
