What Is Your Guilty Pleasure Song or Album? | Rockers React

- Опубліковано 20 жов 2020
- You can't listen to heavy music all the time, can you? As it turns out, even our favorite headbangers like the occasional pop song, country record or ambient soundtrack in the mix. So what is their "guilty pleasure" song or album? We posed that burning question to Pantera's Philip Anselmo, Halestorm's Lzzy Hale, Motionless in White's Chris Motionless, Knocked Loose's Isaac Hale, Spirit Adrift's Nate Garrett and more. They had some great and surprising picks - but none of them felt guilty about them.
What's your "guilty pleasure"? Let us know in the comments.

“I don’t think genre matters, it’s just good songs or bullshit.”
WELL SAID.
Sounds a bit pretentious.
@@Ninjamanhammer why, is alike a film or any art, good oor bullshit.
@@zeitok8 Because everyone has taste. No one just like everything that's good. This kind of statement makes it clear you don't acknowledge your own taste as subjective.
@@Ninjamanhammer genre loyalty is pretentious, just saying you like other kinds of music that's good to you is rational. Music isn't that segregated, lmao.
Boutta bump some T-Swift and slipknot
"guilt is for catholics bro" DAMN RIGHT
Im catholic, but fuck what the church says, music is music _|m|
@@eboyyobe2381 are you even Christian at this point ?? 😂
@@limi. nah man, i love the lord jesus christ (no joke) but i hate what the church implies man, they dictate things in some way or another which restricts what we (catholics) love... PEACE YOW
@@eboyyobe2381 no judgement 🙌🏻
@@eboyyobe2381 The Catholic Church doesn't say what music you can or can't listen to. I know priests who listen to classical music, some who listen to Christian music, and some who listen to heavy metal. Different music resonates differently for different people. As long as the music doesn't lead you to sin, enjoy the beauty of the different styles of music 🤘
Should've been titled, Rockers Overanalyze What "Guilty Pleasure" Means.
it's good though to question the validity of such terms and whether you agree with the message that is pushed when you use it.
@@kNowFixx it’s pretentious
@@GG-kn2se that's your opinion :)
Damn right. They know the meaning and should just shoot right away. In stead trying hard to sound cool with Garage philosophy
@@kNowFixx It's my opinion too, the guys weren't being honest and they overanalyzed what guilty pleasure means to evade the question. The only one who gave a straight up answer was the girl from Halestorm saying Hanson. I expected better from these guys, not politics.
I don't feel guilty, but is weird having a pop song next to a death metal song when I listen in shuffle
Ikr. Meshuggah or Behemoth then don't be cruel by Bobby Brown 😂😂 it happens. I listen to anything I don't care.
My Spotify algorithm loves to follow bad Bunny with some edgy deathcore...
I go death metal straight to classical all the time.
@@unai49999 I have country songs like clint black - killin time next to metallica and death then right next to green day and roddy ricch.
Going from bad brains to a string quartet cover of Radiohead to kid cudi to at the gates to blink 182 was an odd one for me lol
Phil, in every interview, looks and sounds like he's just woken up lol
@@dropbearchupacabra7683 Ambient* as in the music genre. But no ambien seems about right too. Or he's seriously stoned ...
@@kohlfrog I was gonna say - more stoned than just waking up! ;)
🤣🤣🤘🏻
He's high.
David Bowie is never a guilty pleasure. It's just a pleasure to listen to.
Amen 🤘
Lmao
Yes !!
And the worst thing is that he's taking about his last album, that is one of his greatest
i find weird that he thinks listen bowie is "guilty"...wtf
In a few more years Phil's voice is going to be too low for the human ear to hear.
Hell yea, Phil's normal talking voice is the heaviest sound in metal! lol 🤘🍻
Lol!
Two Dudes are crazy about not feeling guilty.
Don't make them feel guilty about not feeling guilty.
they are posers. lol
douchebags
haha!!
Yeah, just answer the question dude. Why so complicated?
The actual metalhead really never cares much for what people think, they love music but love metal a bit more.....hence the openess
I wholeheartedly agree. As a metalhead myself, I see no issue listening to artists such as Eminem or Kesha.
Most metalhead threads/ forums say otherwise. "Rap = crap", "go listen to Bieber" and "you like this? This isn't even heavy!" are all very common phrases
@@WCUmetalhead It is rather unfortunate...but I suppose most communities are made up of close-minded people, so I'm no stranger when it comes to bullshit on the internet such as what you described.
@@KittycatKye oh lord
Agree. To hell with what other think. No need to dwell on the subject. Bunch of fakes
Jar of Hearts is an excellent song, idk why you'd feel guilty about that.
Ya it's pretty dope
Totally agree, Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri is awesome .
Christina Perri alone is dope. Such a beautiful voice.
If you look at me some people would think oh he’s a cholo “gangster” cause how I dress. But jar of hearts I FUCKING LOVE 😂 I don’t give a fuck lol her voice is just great
I've never heard of it. Will have to check it out.
im a simple man
i see chris and i click
ME TOOOOOO
That’s the only reason I’m here 🤷🏻♀️
Me too!!!
ME TOO
Big fan of Chris Motionless. He's always well-spoken, articulate, and has interesting views. But regardless you can tell that people who listen to metal tend to be intelligent.
I think it's more that we tend to be able to be deep. Or don't see being deep as bad, or what have you. Intelligence is something that one can't change, I don't think music taste is something that correlates with that. Being open to look at things from different angles, and being open in general is something one can work at.
On the other hand, most of us were fucking obnoxious punks when we were young, it's one of the things that drives people to confrontational (towards the general society) peer groups.
I am now patiently waiting for a MIW cover of Jar of Hearts 👀
phil anselmo should do asmr :)
He'd just sound like Jocko, except talking about music and life instead of war and leadership.
Love his voice
Say Sike right now
He probably wouldn't even know what asmr is lol
approved
I remember I hosted a party and I had a Dying Fetus song played next to a Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame song. I initially went to change it, but, everyone including the metalheads said "What the fuck are you doing? This is a good ass song." There's no such thing as a guilty pleasure anymore.
So Chris Motionless like Christina Perry?
I like him even more now, how wholesome!
Selena is my "guilty" pleasure. Im a metalhead at heart, but you can't go wrong with someone as amazing as her!
Quintanilla or Gomez?
@@rolandverde8771 Quintanllia for sure! Im not a fan for cry baby singers lol
I agree with Roland. Selena Quintanilla is an icon, but Selena Gomez would definitely have some guilty pleasure songs. I actually like a few of both Selena's songs :D
Chris Motionless wearing a kittie shirt talkin about jar of hearts when i have a literal tattoo of a jar of hearts on my back cuz the song...... IS. THIS. HEAVEN.
Jar of Hearts? Loll not sure if I know it n I'm not going to look it up, well maybe🤔😂
When Anselmo talks my iPad vibrates! 🤘🏽🤘🤘🏿
I would totally have a beer with Chris Motionless, Phil Anselmo, and the dudes from Spirit Adrift!
Chris doesn't drink!
@@dmccreedy3539 Just a soda with him would be totally cool as well.
Health guys too lol
Josh, defending himself: “She’s a swedish babe”
Lzzy 100% agreeing: “It’s okay”
Loved that❤️
80s pop because it reminds me when I was a little kid and my older sister and her friends would babysit me and everyone was singing along to every song
80s are the best!
funny, its exactly the same for me. remember most of the songs from my older syster, and have such a strong case of nostalgia when i hear some of the stuff
Till she had to refresh the diaper
Well said
Granted, radio formats were already fragmenting in the '80s, but it was probably the last decade where Top 40 stations played multiple genres.
Ellie Goulding. You wouldn't think it if you saw me, black hair and sporting my battle vest most places I go, but I f'ing love Ellie Goulding. To me, she just has an incredibly relaxing singing voice.
Nothing bad about listening to people have incredible voice, I love lady gagas tunes haha
Nothing but respect!!!
Fax bruh I’ve been a closeted fan for a while
She's good, she does have a great voice
It is funny how they all evaded actually answering the question
I mean they all names songs.
@@Ninjamanhammer what?
@@AP-gc5ss Each of them name guilty pleasure songs.
@@Ninjamanhammer yeah but they are not actually guilty
@@AP-gc5ss Because guilty pleasures aren't a thing. You shouldn't feel guilty about liking a song.
I'm a Metal head at heart, but I tell people I enjoy pretty much anything from Abba to ZZ Top.
My shuffle can go from Motorhead then right into an Enya song then to some old school rap song.
Abba to ZZ Top ain't that far.
Cliff Burton liked ZZ Top, oh, and REM.
I'm a simple girl, I see Chris Motionless, and I click.
GEEZ SAME. 😂😂

it's because they are a band made of a manlet, californian asian, and overgrown neckbeard. what did you expect?
FINALLY! Aqua's Aquarium getting some love.
So underrated I feel
Oh, yes, I am not the only one who really loves "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri - great song! Not a guilty pleasure, just a great song.
Mos def a guilty pleasure my guy.
@@monwhooperinvasive8064 Only if you're an edgy teenager lol.
The dude from Halestorm mentioned The Cardigans. I love The Cardigans!
Josh is a very well rounded musician
Man why is hanson guilty pleasure? They write some dope ass music! They ain’t the boy band that still writes MmmBop. They’re so good
Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. I love a variety of music but that is the one song i will legit turn down the speakers in my car to listen too cause I am ashamed. No idea why because it is such a BANGER.
Omg, Natasha Bedingfield is an artist that seems to be forgotten, but she has released multiple bangers. Pocketful of sunshine, these words, unwritten, angel, love like this, all tunes that are catchy as hell and total bops. I take any chance I can get to stan Natasha befingfield.
"billy elish or whatever"😂
It's so great and wholesome to see these artists open their minds and explore other genre's of music. Music is subjective and not everyone can vibe to the same thing. Great video!
The fact Chris and I love the same song makes me so happy.
I like your Leon Kennedy photo!
i cant explain my love for chris motionless dude
Walter B you’re gross🤮
Same. Ugh.
Ugh, he's so beautiful
I love Sade. A hot candle lit bubble bath with some Sade playing in the background..YES!
Careless Whisper. Plus I own 2 Vanilla Ice albums.
Careless Whisper is gold. Love that.
Ninja Rap!
Is one of the Vanilla Ice albums his nu metal one?
Samantha Fox, a Page 3 girl turned singer and Traci Lords, an under aged porn star turned singer and actress are two of my favorite artists. That Mortal Combat riff that's played at sporting events is a sample from Traci Lord's song Control.
My guilty pleasure is certainly Kickstar my heart by Motley Crue!
I'm mainly into rock and metal, and sometimes Celtic pieces, but I've listened to Melanie Martinez on occasion... She's not really a "guilty pleasure" artist if you love that kind of music, but as a metalhead, listening to that indeed makes it a guilty pleasure in a way.
I'm a true blue fan of heavy metal, alternative rock, and industrial music, but I love synthwave, 80s pop, and outlaw country
The humbleness of The Halestorm members and Phil speaks so loud!
Heh, I didn't expect Blind Guardian as a guilty pleasure. Stuff like "I kissed a Girl" or "Backstreet's back" maybe, yes. But Blind Guardian? Why would someone be embarrassed for that?
Chris Motionless' pick with Jar of Hearts by Cristina Perry. Right there with him on that one...she's an Amazing singer/songwriter 🎶❤🤘
It’s only a guilty pleasure cause people wanna make you feel guilty for enjoying it!
I agree
Jar of Hearts. That’s a real one 🤙🏻💯
Anytime someone asks this question I'm always reminded of the scene in Tommy Boy where "Superstar" by the Carpenters comes on the radio.
When phil talks my whole phone is vibrating
Phil is my guilty pleasure 😂
Chris wearing a Kittie T-shirt is life 😭
5 years from now, Revolver will still be releasing new content from these same interviews.
It's really cool to see how diverse other rockers are in their musical choices. Now I dont feel weird that I go from soul music to Slipknot in one sit down. 😂
Phil feeling guilt of not having Nick Cave's new record is my everything
Yup people at work trip because I have a lot of different genres of music just mashed together.
James Brown, Slipknot, Willie Nelson, Gap Band, Geto Boys, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pie Tasters, Peter Tosh etc....... and my phone plays songs alphabetically so it's a crazy Playlist when it's my day for music
This video is so wholesome and I'm here for it
It's fascinating to see what others like listening to. In moments like this we learn more about each other than any other circumstance
I'm a metalhead and I have some guilty pleasure music like 1980's freestyle/clubhouse f
and synthwave
Many metalheads that I know of are into retrowave and good synth.
Me too.
The Cardigans are 100% awesome, 100% metal
I was sold as soon as I saw Chris in the thumbnail 😍🔥💀🤘🖤
Yo I can feel Phil’s voice throughout my entire body.
Synthwave is definitely a great genre that a lot of metal heads have gotten into.
3:30 Same here. Idk it just so chill to me. Windir.
I love how all of them responded
Most people are surprised that musicians listen to pretty much everything, but in different ways and for different reasons. Example, I listen to current pop and hip hop music so I can hear the production techniques.
I am a huge metalhead and I usually listen to really heavy bands, but 1989 by Taylor Swift is one of the greatest albums ever.
YES
no its not
@@Nichwar19 lol
Gou seriously need to listen to more music! NOTHING she does it even good. Go grt your ears checked THEN your brain!
Mika. All the way. Dude's great. And I DO feel guilty about it.
I dig old school Classical music... Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Strauss, Frédéric Chopin ... it's pretty much where Everything Else came from anyway!
Jar of Hearts!!! Love that Metal song!
yooooo i forgot ab jar of hearts. chris throwin it back to 2010 for the second time this month
Supertramp Breakfast in America! I freaking love that album.
3:28 This would make a lot of sense considering how insanely depressing the new Knocked Loose EP is, just listening to A Tear in the Fabric of life is such an emotional and intense experience. It’s just pure grief and anger in music form.
I've always liked "Spice Up Your Life" by Spice Girls. My mom would occasionally play disco and "The Cup of Life" by Ricky Martin.
Loving a song is one of the most truest, honest thing a person can have for themselves.
David Bowie _ Black Star..
Artist should take notes..
"Jar of Hearts" - I love that song.
I'm happy to hear that Chrid Motionless listen to rap and he named some rappers I listened to.
I enjoy any music that makes me emotional with both metal or pop having the ability to make me feel that way so you do the math
I love that most on the video are wearing other band merch, I think it’s really cool lol
While I am mostly an old school metal fan, I can listen to most things. I grew up on Motown and soul music. Happy to say that I saw James Brown live and it is still one of the best concerts I have seen. It’s okay to like, or not like, any type of music. It’s whatever music that elicits emotion in you.
No one should be guilty of any genre. All music came from somewhere. And this is why music unites people
This dude really hits us with TOY BOX! omg the memories
phil anselmo is literally doing vocal fry. he's definitely a singer.
I listen to mostly metal and KPOP, so my Spotify is generally all over the place, but it makes a nice change to jump from one to the other :D I don't feel guilty about that, it's got so many jams
WOW. Phil mentioned Jacula. Man that was the underground dark before my time. They have some really cool shit. Bravo phil.
@@levis_4444 Man i got no clue. You can find it here on the Tube. As far as looking for it to purchase, I dont know. Id imagine somewhere. I was aware of them as a child do to my fathers friend owning their albums. This was really underground stuff in a time is super conservative days. This was very dissident in that time. Like if your parents caught you jamming to it, they'd have you drowning in holy water at church that night and your room blessed. Go and try your luck on the internet. If its scarce you can always download it. Btw, Jacula is not for everyone. They are the origans of " dungeon synth " progressive synth rock or whatever. Be ready to step outside your comfortzone.

@@levis_4444 Youre very much Welcome.
I really like this kind of videos.
It shows as that there are some stupid boundaries that actually don't exist.
I mean Metallica singing Diamons from Rihanna and John Famiglietti saying that he loves Aqua. What's the problem?
There's a lot of irrational hate in some people and you can see it in some comments.
It's XXI century: No one should feel guilty about listen to any music genre.
Man, I agree with all of them. Tbh I would be listening Walk by Pantera and suddenly, change to Naima by Coltrane or listening to Dunkelheit by Burzum and then suddenly change to aquarium by Boards of Canada. The more I grown up the more I discover new albums, songs and artist.
My music taste has varied over the years. I grew up hearing reggae because of my mom, then I got into rap and then I started listening to limp bizkit which got me into the whole heavy distorted guitars...... And now I'm a huge slipknot fan
But I also have space for some electronic music, I like chilling out with some deadmau5 in the background
I saw Chris motionless and I clicked
"Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, it's so cheesy, but I dig it
Respect to Chris for the OG Kittie shirt! 🤙
Lzzy Hale and I are about the same age so understandably we have the same "guilty pleasure", Hanson. Except I own every album, haven't missed a tour since 1998, and have no shame about it.
"I listen to rap stuff like eminem and NF"
Hmmmm
Hmmmm
I was like "😑"
Ah yes, underground rapper Eminem
🙄🙄🙄
LMAO!!!! Right!!! All these "SO open-minded" metalheads going off about how they like a lot of stuff and then proceed to list the most popular/generic songs, WHATEVER! Pfff. The only one that actually surprised me was the guy who said Aqua aquarium haha because that actually was pretty random, good album though!
There is this Swedish pop artist, Molly Sanden. And i occasinaly listening to her single called Det bästa kanske inte hänt än. Dont understand what she’s saying but love the way she sing it and the beat.
I go from the most extreme metal you can possibly find to smooth jazz in a heartbeat. No guilt here.
One of my non-metal guilty pleasures is old school Reggae, or a lot of 90s pop and weird stuff. Been in the mood for some Bob Marley and UB40 tonight, actually...I listen to a variety of stuff but I am most into death metal/thrash, etc.
Among my numerous heavy metal titles on CD, cassette and vinyl, one will find titles by Andres Segovia, George Benson, Burl Ives, Jaco Pastorius, Al DiMeola, John Scofield, Julian Bream, Lena Horne, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Rosemary Clooney, etc. My advice is to be open to as many styles of music as you possibly can, because it will broaden your horizons.
Phil was thrilled being included with those folks looking back
I love that Chris is wearing a Kittie shirt - badass.
2:01 a real fan. Even knows about Toy box.
