"Guilty pleasure" is for nerds who need justification for enjoying music
Truer words haven't been spoken. Since I abandoned the "guilty pleasure" mindset I've expanded my musical horizon and started enjoying more genres of music (and enjoying them more) than ever before.

"Guilty pleasure" just means you love something that you realize is stupid and/or plain bad but still love it anyway, and not much guilt involved, you people need to stop taking things so seriously
Technically "Careless Whisper" can never be a guilty pleasure cuz it's a pop art masterpiece. A classic like that could never be the source of any guilt.

I'm with Corey. I'm so done with the metal elitism. Listen to what you like and don't be ashamed of it.
So true. Ive never been apart of such a toxic music group before. All of my friends who listen to pop and rap all like to get down to some rock every now and then but my rock friends absolutely refuse to admit any likeness towards and genre that isnt rock.
Used to be in that camp til I found K-pop and now I'm trying to find all the bops I ignored growing up because I was insecure about listening to music that wasn't macho enough
Why not? There are so many pop/hip hop/rap listeners who do the same. The metal genre is almost dead and the few who listen to it have the right to be proud of it.
Rishabh Vailaya You’re in the wrong country if you think metal/rock is dying. Come take a trip down to New Zealand and its all anyone ever listens to. Even on the pop radio stations they play rock from New Zealand bands.

I used to have this ”guilty” feeling listening to non-alternative music when I was younger but now that I’m more grown up I realize it’s all just music. Every track you listen to doesn’t have to have a profound meaning and significance to you or have deep lyrics, it can just be a song you like. I still listen to songs by artists I dislike, either for something they have done/are doing or for differing opinions, because it’s just music.
I think a lot of that feeling comes from ridiculous attitudes in school.
In my school anyone who liked metal was picked on and made fun of. From what I've heard, it was a common experience in UK schools.
I once was at a meet and greet with metal god, Devin Townsend and asked him who his guilty pleasure musical artist was. His response:
“I don’t ever feel guilty for listening to music. If I like it, I listen to it.”

most musicians listen to all music
Talented musicians don't really listen to pop no.
David Näslund Pop is so important. Just listen to Hey jude, Say Say Say or Beat it.
Most musicians listen to music.
TuVecinillo69 Excuse me I was unclear, I was rather talking about pretty much everything that came up during the 2000's

i never got the toxic genre loyalists... why couldnt u appreciate other music? every genre has gems in it. i may be a metalhead first and foremost but love blues, hip hop, jazz, Michael Jackson, ballroom music etc too
Careless Whispers for me. Still have it on my playlist. Reminds of a different time.
“I met his mom and I told her women have 3 holes in between their legs”
Marilyn Manson

Vanillacup «A bit weird»... its Marilyn fucking Manson. He started weird. Thats why i love him. Hes an intelligent guy, but also jokes around a lot.

This hard rocker ( me ) likes the Pet Shop Boys.
Anne Murray, lol.
Very is an excellent album
Good choice. They're on my list too. I also like listening to Duran Duran every now and again. ^^
We keep that on the jukebox for profilin' purposes... we also have Seal 🤣
I like them too I also like erasure they're songs are underrated.
Thank you 🙏 for your support SLASH.
I like how this hard rockers are not ashamed but their fans get offended if someone plays anything Pop 😂
Wow. I did not expect that Slash would have that voice. I expected him to have a really really deep voice.
regular29 I didn't expect him to speak in complete sentences.
Slash is actually very intelligent.
mosquitobight It's quite surprising he speaks in mere words instead of guitar solos.
yea after his words on Get In the Ring, you'd think his voice would sound different. Plus his loudest words are in guitar solos, pushed through overdriven Marshall stacks
Lost Clouds people expect axl to have a higher voice and slash a lower voice but it's the complete opposite haha
"Everything from Abba to Anthrax" well thats not a very long list there Cory
Ab-An LOL
Needed a minute to get it 😂😂😂 great comment btw

He's all over American Hi-Fi though!
"Too stoned...Nintendo..."
