I've seen Heart slay Zeppelin tunes a couple of times in person. I think Robert Plant would be well advised to never share the stage with what is arguably the greatest ever female rock voice. Or in other words, even now who, male or female, would she not blow off the stage with that voice? Quite astonishing, really.
Almost any band or musical group from the 70s and whose heyday was during the 70s is *_infinitely better_* than quite possibly nearly every musical act around, today. Hell, this isn’t even a conspiracy theory-it’s just straight-up common sense.
OMG My first time hearing this! I knew Heart was talented from their music! But cover this song and NAIL IT, that talent on top of talent! Thank you Heart!❤
Even Plant himself modifies his vocal lines for live performances... Ann's amazing vocals and superb performance from this truly fine band are great to see.
Heart is basically Femme Zeppelin. They had their share of proggy moments (especially the odd 5/4 and 3/4 time changes in Barracuda), could do folk, metal, and blues, and with an amazing vocalist (Heart has two...Nancy is WICKED underrated as a singer!).
@Chewy Ltd This is a perfect example of why Ann was one of my biggest vocal influences growing up (I'm a singer myself... and ironically, one of my 2 bands still performs "Barracuda" today, lol!)
@Chewy Ltd That is so amazing! And btw, I've always really liked Mike Reno's voice. I mean, how could I not - Loverboy had some really incredible songs! And I imagine that like most people, my favorite would have to be "Working for the Weekend" - but I mean, hell, I still put that song on a lot of my playlists now!
The band Heart was my hero when I was in middle school in the late 1980s. I tried to make my voice just the same as Ann Wilson's at that time. :) When Heart had a concert in Panama City in 2013, my husband and I went there and it was just like a dream come true. Their music was the same and so great, and I just felt so much passion back. I was in my only thirties. All others seemed at least 50's. The power of music is great because I saw all the people feel the same way that I felt in there.
My goodness, they crushed this. Wow. Yes, they're Led Zep fans. We all are. First, you need a guitarist that can play this. There are so many guitarists who want to, this is do-able. Then you need a drummer who can play this correctly. That's a bit harder. And then you need a lead singer who can handle this, and that's not so easy. It's not easy at all. And then you have to have all three at the same time. That's why covers of Led Zep at this level are very scarce. Pretty much nonexistent. This is as good as you're going to hear until something like this lineup comes along again. I'm not holding my breath. I probably won't live long enough to see another.
I've seen Heart live doing Zep. It's very hard to speak these words...they were almost better than Zep. This coming from a HUGE Zep fan. Heart was just that good. And thank goodness, they didn't do the Swiffer commercial. Good on them for cashing in on that song!!! Seriously!!
I have seen Heart many times. They always throw in a Zeppelin tune in the mix. You can clearly see their influence. One of the great 70s bands. Nancy and Ann rock.
Annie Haslam needs some credit. Five octave range and at least as long a singing career in Renaissance, forerunner of several prog rock bands. Ann Wilson has 3 octaves but agreed she can use her voice for loud rock like a velvet covered hammer.
Years ago, my girlfriend took me to a Heart concert. At first, I was not amused. But, for the encore, they came out and did 45 minutes of Led Zepplin! My God! I would have paid double the ticket price for just those 45 minutes! They DESTROYED IT WITH ZEP! Fans were going absolutely crazy! It was fantastic! Rock and Roll, Black Dog, Battle of Evermore with mandolin into, it was all there!
I've been listening to heart since I was a wee lad, and they just keep it rolling! Led Zeppelin is my favorite! These girls are the next best thing! Love them!
Saw these lovely ladies in 1978 ln Dallas at the first Texxas Jam...cranked a few Zep tunes....place was going nuts!! Love to hear Heart doing Zep tunes....only ones who do them the way they should be.....😎
I saw them play in August of 1977 and they did Zeppelin's "Rock n Roll" as part of their encore. Amazing! They've always said Led Zeppelin was a big influence on them, it shows.
@@DavidWilson-yj3si Listen to Dreamboat Annie, Dog and Butterfly, Barracuda and this amazing Zep cover ..... tells you all you need to know about the depth and brilliance of Ann Wilson's incredible vocal talent.
I just love how Nancy admires Ann. Just look at her the moment Ann belted her first note. And every now and then during the whole song. I love the Wilson Sisters so freakin much. 😭
My wife and I saw Heart during this tour in Moncton NB. They just blew us away (this was at least our 5th or 6th time we have seen Heart ... going back to 1976, 1977. I even saw the open for ZZ Top in Vancouver!
There is nothing that Heart can not do.....and they do it all so well.....saw them live on the beach in Daytona in the 70's.....needless to say.....what a great show.....louder than loud.....
Over the years, I have found myself trying to figure out, how can I even express the feelings I get from Ann Wilson's singing. You've done a really good job of describing it here. Haha, just, amazing.
These two women definitely know how to rock and roll and their taste for playing great cover songs from groups that are legends they hold their own👍👍👍👏👏👏😚😚🎸🎸🎸
Wow !! Awesome Awesome Awesome is all that anyone can say !!! I started watching and I swear I was transported into the concert with them ! Heart started pumping like I was right there anyway what an awesome voice and I always get them mixed up but the guitar is so powerful and she can really play the dam thing WOW !!!!
I think that Ann was and still is Beautiful. So is Nancy. I love their relationship and the love for each other Ann got one side of the family genes and Nancy got the others. Their book is Amazing. She may have lost some of her range but she still has a powerful voice. She was 62 here now she is 70. Last year they went on tour during the summer.
The Wilson sisters are rock super stars...both are so good looking and absolutely great performormers....I love black dog and they hit it out of the park. I am Canadian and seeing the big maple leaf there...hell ya...O CANADA

Look at Nancys face throughout this live cover of Zeppelin.....She is in awe of her sisters performance.....Priceless video.....
Ann certainly appreciates that Nancy can handle anything Jimmy Page throws at her.
I saw that also, the look of admiration for her big sister and that amazing VOICE!!! ♥️💯🔥
The only person who can sing in Robert's Plants register is a woman! Great cover, you rock sisters!
Exactly what was going through my mind
Ain't that the fuckin truth???
And she's better. Some rock fans need a dick to get off. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Steve Perry could do it!
absolutely right !!!@ proven from many songs she performed...... applaud !!!! .. love these the 2 great women.
Nobody does Led Zeppelin better than the Wilson sisters!👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
The only band ever to do true justice to a Zeppelin song.
Great White does Led Zep justice also, my friend. Check 'em out
Not sure about Great White, lol.
Tool, however, does a good job with NO Quarter. But yeah, Heart kills it every time they cover Zeppelin!
Please, The lyrics is for a male singer 👻

It's not HEY HEY BABY !! ITS HEY HEY MOMMA !! And that one word is critical!!

@Gichanasa No. No way ....some words are perfect and critical for the song . I love heart but no just no .
These girls should have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the very first wave. Seriously!
Went to their concert in Dallas. Imagine my surprise when half of the concert was Heart other half Led Zeppelin!
Heart started out as a Zep cover band before they ever cut their first LP, so this kinda makes sense.
My first concert was Heart in 1986 and I was blown away when she sang this after singing for 2 hours. Still the best concert ever!!!!
With Heart, you not only get one of the most sublime and amazing rock bands every you get the best Zeppelin cover band ever.
timeless ageless no one can touch that voice.-- great
She is soooo aweeeesome. What a beautiful voice.

The best rockers, period! No female qualification necessary or desired!

Led Zep couldn't have done it better even 10 years prior. Kudos to two of the baddest performers of multiple decades. Lots of Heart.
Ann Wilson , the greatest female voice in rock . Wow she is powerful !!!
