I just cleaned my pc. I took it outside and after blowing out the dust, I think I seeded the clouds along the entire east coast. It hasn’t been sunny in 3 weeks!
You might want to upgrade to a more modern case with some more airflow and install some more fans as it will improve the cooling. Speaking of which, the front intake fan and rear exhaust fan weren’t spinning, you might want to check that out
Corsair 5000D Airflow gang?! Literally the best case I ever gotten, it did a mighty job. I moved recently to a dual loop liquid cooled system. In perspective, I had a RTX 2070 before, in MSFS at medium/ high graphics with an i7-9700K i was getting okay FPS(I disable traffic in flight sim as it hinders FPS the most) My thermals were around 75-80 degrees with a undervolt set on 837mV, 1575Mhz. On my new water cooled system, using a Z690 Waterforce, I get thermals around 40 degrees, not using any undervolted settings. Oh and yeah I have everything on max, except for traffic obviously(it’s the FPS killer in MSFS.. easily +30fps with all of it turned down)
An all core Cinebench run sure, gaming won’t be a problem, even flight sim. There are bunches of videos with $35 coolers showing gaming doesn’t thermal throttle (Hardware Canuck 13900k myths video for example). If the goal is to irrationally keep temperatures down, so your computer will last 20+ years, sure. This assumes no overclocking, of course. :)
It really depends on the case with such a cooler. That piece of garbage case (aka be quiet! Pure Base 600) will suffocate that CPU and GPU even in Minecraft
Tbh he should have got the 7800x3d, it's better for flight sim But idk how much streaming eats cuz I never tried it but I'm sure 8 cores is enough for streaming The other thing that concerns me is that I think his ram might be a bottleneck, idk what speed it is
.....getting the "Druckluftspray" out and blowing the dust directly all over the open tower! 😂😂😂😂 Gotta love @Swiss001 ❤ Glück auf brotha! Schönes Wochenende!! 🇺🇸 🇩🇪 🍻
Good build, but have fun thermal throttling. That cooler will not tame a 13900K. You'll need a REALLY good 240 or 280mm or 360mm radiator. Or, a good Noctua air cooler will do too. Also, your intake fan is not spinning. Unless you set intake fan to completely disable in BIOS, but I heavily doubt it still wouldnt spin up under load.
His PC could be potentially running better if he cleaned out the dust. Problem with dust is that it can clog your radiator or generally just make airflow in the case worse. This can cause PC to overheat and thermal throttle in order to not cook itself to death therefore you can have lower fps in games.
Nice rig! Just a couple things to consider though. First of all, that CPU cooler is not gonna cool your 13th gen i9 very well. This new generation of CPUs have been known to run very hot, so I'd definitely recommend a much larger air cooler like the Noctua NH-D15 or an AIO (280mm or larger for that beast), just so that you have enough thermal headroom. Secondly, I would look into getting a PSU upgrade at some point, and although it may not be necessary now, it will be helpful in the long run when you eventually upgrade your GPU. Apart from that, you should be good to go!
@@Nojus123 it’s not too low, when he put on the cpu cooler the thermal paste should’ve spread around the cpu so there’s no need to spread it across because that’s what the cpu cooler does
Hey Swiss! I wanted to let you know that you definitely need to put more thermal paste on because it is going to turn into rubber and crash your Sim and your computer and it probably will break your brand new CPU. Also, can you please give me a shout out I can waiting two months. Thank you and enjoy your new PC.
I was wondering when this video was coming. Msfs looks like it's getting pretty hard for your pc to run. I'm happy for you that you are able to get a new pc, and I look forward to the new content with it. I also just built my new pc, specifically for flight simulators.
0:50 To minimize the dust inside, you need to run with a slightly positive pressure in the cabinet. Let's say that you have one more fan for intake then exhaust, and your cabinet will be as good as dust-free during the next years :D
Seeing Swiss001 building a new computer for himself with absolutely no experience makes wanna feel proud for him Also, somehow that's a lot more dust than my grandpa's PC
Swiss, you might need to invest in a more proper cooling system, the new CPU can get very hot. I recommend something like a new case and maybe a liquid cooler to help with that.
That is really really cool. No more lagging issue..for now. I assume that you used the money donations from your past livestreams from a few days ago or so. Well done👍
3:14 “some of the mods i did to this PLANE” lol, btw glad you upgraded your pc, I think it was after a comment i posted one one of your latest videos. Btw great video keep it up 👍
I had the exact same problem. Even though i had a GTX 3060TI, it was bottle necking at the CPU which was a really old Intel I5 6600k, which made MSFS run like balls. Swapped it out for an Intel I5 13600k and its now running like a dream in 1440p . Averaging 60fps in ultra. Happy future flight simming
As an IT/cyber security tech, I think he missed the thermal paste since whenever you take off the CPU cooler, you need to reapply thermal paste. If you use the old themal paste, you get significantly higher temps. That and the fact that he's running an i9 13000 series CPU, he better make sure his new build doesn't throttle or even worse (especially mid-stream) the PC shuts down to prevent the CPU from melting. But regardless I'm glad to see he did upgrade so he won't break another monitor
I was wondering when you would upgrade! Your PC is now slightly more powerful than mine. Though I recommend keeping an eye on your mods cuz I found those to slow down my game.
You need to connect the case fans. Without those on, your pc will thermal throttle. Though some configurations will make your computer dustier. LTT has a guide on building computers that you can watch.
my friend has an i7 10700 which is very similar to the i7 9700k and runs an amd rx 6700 xt in msfs perfectly fine, so I was initially confused why the 9700k would be lagging so bad. Even I myself don’t get that bad of lag on my gtx 1650 laptop in msfs

@@sSteppingStones I disagree, mine ain’t an i9 but it’s an i7 10700kf 5ghz paired with a z590p and I do have power issues where the cpu spikes with too much power, down everything I could do in my bios and AC yet it still has temperature issues with the spiking, but my NH-U12a saves it with ease, Cinebench ranked in at like 60 degrees Celsius, I’m not saying it’d work on every i9 but I’ve seen people test it on i9 and it has held up just fine, like the guy said above the NH-D15 works well, the 12a is like 3 degrees hotter or even less
