When I purchased my 06 Deluxe fuel injected, previous owner had put on all Willie G parts. Including gas cap. When I saw this fuel gauge said finally can match. Except Harley Davidson didn't make the fuel gauge for 06 softail. #$%$#$$
I need to investigate why mine is always flashing red. I did not install it, so I'm curious (since the ORG was a 1/4 turn and lift) and this one was a push and teeth grabbed - what's the process for taking this out so I can check the wiring and such?
In this video it did not look like you had to move the tank out of the way. How do you get up in there to unplug the wire, there is no room unless you move the tank slightly out of the way. Did you do this step and not put it in this video?
As I remember it, the wire was held up to the inside of the tank by a metal clip. I just followed the wire up until I found it, then unclipped the wire and it gave me all of the extra wire to work with that you see in the video. Your tank may be slightly different in that configuration?
@@contact4mwy7 I have a 2011 Heritage and have the Same fuel gauge as the one you installed. Did you have to loosen any of the fasteners on the tank or no?
@@scottderibin6549 We didn't have to raise or loosen the tank. Just had to remove it from a metal retainer clip between the tank and the frame. If you have better access to it by raising the rear of the tank then do so, carefully.
@@luisnava9644 no I just use the odometer trip setting So I got the cool flashy skull cap but it always is on the empty light all the time I just quit messing with it I just think they changed the wiring from 00 is what it is
This video was super helpful! Thank you so much for this! My husband was able to install this exact gauge on my 2002 Heritage Softail Classic!!👍
Thank you for letting me know! Happy riding!
Awesome video! You just saved me hours of aggravation! Thank you!

I no longer have access to it or the directions.
@@contact4mwy7 no worries. thanks. someone suggested just rocking it back and forth while pulling up... and that worked.
There is a removal tool for the wires, but if you buy it from Harley it will probably be $150.00.
Mongo Deuce lol, probably! I fussed about with that evil connector with everything I could find handy and still no go! Thanks for the comment.
I've seen this on numerous fxcwc bikes... only it says it's not compatible with fxcwc... so what mods are necessary to make it work?
I would have to go by what it says on the box or in the paperwork. Otherwise it will be trial and error.
Nice
Thanks!

Will these work for a 2005 harley davidson fatboy
I don't have that information.
Mine doesent have the yellow wire on the bike
It lights up but goes right too empty ?
Is the gauge listed as fitting your year and model bike? Something doesn't sound right in the wiring.
Same
Did you find out why?
