What kind of water system was that you have to filter water
Absolutely LOVELY! I would give ANYTHING to have my Granny's house. She lived in it for over 50 years and was a well-loved teacher and principal. When we moved her out, as she began to require full time care, people stopped and asked if they could come inside, because they had driven by the home for decades and just wanted to see inside. How badly I wish I had even ONE of the beautiful crystal doorknobs that were on the interior doors. 😥 Her home is still standing, but was purchased by an investor and the area is now commercial. I am so thrilled for you (and totally jelly 😉) that you will have the pleasure of spending time with another generation in your family home! Congratulations and beautiful job renovating!!!

It’s AMAZING what the 60’s/70’s did to our parents and grandparents with their avacado green and harvest gold (🙄) and carpet over gorgeous hardwood flooring! We have a turn of the century Sear’s Craftsman that was carpeted throughout and to my husband’s shock but ultimate joy, I took a butcher knife to the carpet cuz I wanted to see what I suspected was underneath it. That was 25 years ago! We have gorgeous hardwood floors and a few Pottery Barn rugs, but not too many because I love to see the wood, that shine to this day even tho kids ran all over them! :)

Beautiful 💙 I know y'all will love it. Our heat comes out of the ceiling as well. My mother-in-law always complained about how her feet and legs were cold. We thought she was just blowing smoke because we bought her this house, and it wasn't all she wanted. Well, now we live here, and guess what? Our feet and legs freeze in the winter. My poor mother-in-law. So, when we renovate, we are putting heated floors.

You have done an amazing job with your grandparents house! Where are the hanging gourds? Your grandparents always had gourds hanging... also, the house seems closer to the road that what I remember... but you know, when your little things always seem bigger and farther than they really are...
I'm so happy for you. I know how much your grandparents meant to you, and I'm glad you get to always have them with you in your new home. Praying everything comes together peacefully for you. Just remember, everything works out in the right timing! Also, glad your dad's parents are safe. My Dad is in Crystal Beach, TX and they were without power for a week. Your home is beautiful! I love that you renovated and it was your grandparents home. (We had to sell me childhood home and it’s still upsetting to me) The color combos you chose are so perfect! My childhood home was built in the 70's for about 35,000 near a lake in a small town, my parents sold it for 170,000 over 20 years ago and it just resold for 400,000 about 3 years ago. Today it would easily be 450,000 or more, it's not THAT big, average 1970's three bedrooms 2 baths. Just a GREAT location, the American dream. Being middle class now, we could never afford to live where we grew up poor, lol. I remember being 18 and them talking about selling over the taxes and fear of upkeep, but they could have kept it, we all could have helped, but thought it was a good time to sell, it wasn't. They pay over 1,500 a month now in rent to stay in the same area. As a Landlord that's fair. Landlords are not who set the costs of rentals, the government does with requirements and renters rights, rights to basically trash the place so landlords NEED to raise the price on everyone to recuperate losses and pay those high taxes people keep voting in.

I absolutely love those closet doors, that is exactly what we need for our storage closet and laundry area that’s in our mud room. Everything is gorgeous! The music reminds me of the show Justified😁

Beautiful job on the Reno! Besides your home I noticed the tiniest bit of gray on your hair. Years ago after I changed my eating I also decided to stop putting chemicals on my head. I have been “silver” for over 7 yrs & the freedom of not coloring is wonderful.
I’ve been dye free now for over a year. Embracing my silver 🥰🥰

Take a brush and wash that wall may get you the aesthetic you’re looking for. I’ve shown some houses that they’ve done that with and that worked. Gorgeous home! That is my style of dream house, too! Absolutely love the white and gray, the floors and shiplap walls and brick. I never liked red brick, but ever since watching Fixer Upper, have been obsessed with painted brick. The farmhouse sink and fixtures are so beautiful. What a stunning, cozy home this will be! I’d never want to leave! Those crank windows in the breakfast nook/seating area are fabulous! So jealous 😍

I love your house!!! One piece of advice....we had that same reverse osmosis system and after 2 years it started slowly leaking and ruined our entire kitchen and living room.
We now have a berkey water filter which is the best tasting water.

We have reverse osmosis in our old house, never had any issues at all! Hopefully we won’t this time as well. We do have a Berkey too.
One good thing about being meat- based is that we always have room in the fridge.

So nice to watch this video and get back to normal after the ice storm here in Texas. I know first hand how important that wood burning fireplace is going be. That’s how I survived the storm. And hubby was out of town so I was by myself. Glad your grandparents are doing good

Your house is perfect! Perfect for you. We dreamed of living on a lake and bought an almost 100 year old cottage gutted and remodeled. Smaller rooms also, But that being said, the property is far more important to me. It’s cozy. Eating meat, means I don’t need half my kitchen stuff. My favorite room of your house is the renovated carport. What a great idea. I can’t wait to see the plants hanging and the boho look. The windows are spectacular ! You and Ken have a really nice mix of ideas. I loved that you shared with us. God bless you and your family as you move onto this property.❤️
