I still use my White’s V3i. Haven’t found another machine with stereo mixed mode, polar plot, size analysis, 200 tones, 190 VDI scale, color screen, visual display of the multiple frequencies, or simultaneous multifrequency with ALL the frequencies. The Leakquinox only uses two frequencies at a time in multi mode. I have a Legend on preorder and am hoping it is waterproof and at least half as good as the V3i.
you could make deus into "mix mode stereo". this wasn't made intentionally but I found interesting way to do this. you need to downgrade deus firmware to for example v4 (both remote controller and headphones) and then upgrade just remote controller to the newest version, or vice versa. now headphones and remote controller won't be compatible to each other but it will be compatible to the coil. what you can do, is to put different settings in your headphone except freq, for example change recovery speed, change audio tones, ground balance etc, and at the same time have different setting on remote controller, for example gold program, iar 5, recovery speed etc. just move the right headphone back or front so you can listen the sound of remote controller. Everything is based on microprocessors in headphones and remote controller, so they analyze data from the coil differently and give you different outputs. Now you don't need to listen for both everytime but if it's iffy signal, you have additional information from remote controller on different settings. OR you can buy additional headphones, put the same coil in it, make one headphones from two headphones somehow and you have mixed mode stereo, don't ask how, I don't know, but it's possible to have same coil on two headphones, try it. Basically on one ear you can make settings for shallow targets, fast recovery speed etc, while on other for deeper targets. If you could make this, no newest detector would outperform this, for extra 250 bucks you would get much more inches in depth. Just bring two headphones to the electrician and ask him to assemble two controller pieces together. Ask Jim to borrow his headphones and test it by connecting one coil to two headphones
OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!! THAT IS GENIUS!!!! Best comment on my UA-cam channel ever man!! This is what we need on the Deus II, or Deus III. It took me a couple minutes to understand your setup and logic behind it. And just think how hard it was to research and develop this dual channel audio back then, Now we can replicate this technology in a digital format. This is what innovation is all about man!!. This modification is probably not possible with any other existing digital machine. It makes this modification much easier with the Deus because it has a wireless coil.....EXCITING!!!
@@PaystreakSuperfreak they won't make these type of headphones for deus II or deus III (which might come in 2030 anyways), it would be too complicated for regular or new users, cuz they would need to change settings on both controllers. But yes, it could work because controllers are getting data in wireless
@@PaystreakSuperfreak Also, you could use two adapters on the two controllers and plug two earphones and put one earphone in left ear and another earphone from other controller in right ear, actually never tried this, but might work
I got a V3I about 6 years ago still use it a great machine it out does my Nox 800 I just wonder what Whites would be coming up with now if they was still around I've been using Whites sense the 1970s.Thanks for the video buddy keep up the good work.
Hey Paystreak, do you remember a detector from way back called the Vantage? I had a Vantage AD-14 and the feature that set it apart was that it had two detecting circuits in one detector. You could set each side differently and toggle between them with a tactile button on the handle grip. I used that for a few years in my youth and it helped GREATLY in trying to determine the dig / no-dig decision. Having the button on the grip made it lightning quick to switch at the edge of a swing, then back again on the other edge of the swing. The 'nox thumb board control is close but more awkward.
I just used my nox800 for the first time today around my house. I've never metal detected before, all I was digging up was nails and a bottle cap. I don't know the first thing about metal detecting, but the tones on the nails seemed squirley and weak.
I was thinking exactly this when Nokta showed the Iron meter on the Legend.... I thought that's great, but can I hear that in stereo audio? Makes so much sense. The great thing about the Legend is that new features can be released on future firmware updates.
As far as coins are concerned your first mistake was to reject the 1$ coins. This meant that you never got the 2$ coins or like in some counties even 5$ or 10$ equivalence. I swing in Canada and though I agree that eventually all or most physical money will be phased out in the next few decades meanwhile I just LOVE that I can go out and find 1$ or 2$ dollars in one hole or sometimes even multiples of them. Another great thing is we got rid of the penny so the smallest denomination will be a 5 cents and up. Well at least till we get most of the pennies out but at least no new ones are being spilt since 2014. The government is even talking about getting rid of the 5 cent coin. Now if only they would go for the 5$ coin and beyond before we go all digital. Anyways hope you Americans get on the ball and lose the nostalgia for useless currency and for your sake embrase these changes. It really makes detecting more pleasant and more profitable. Your videos are both entertaining and educational, keep up the good work.
Hey a little off topic but my Wife was walking past while playing this video and she said "wow, that looks like a really neat house" talking about the color of the siding.🤣
Can you go back to the v3i if you still have it and try to give a good demonstration of it. Would love to see a back to your roots video from you rather than the usual deus every day video?
Old coins are not be replenished, so relics are important to, we need certain iron , I like relics, cooper, brass etc. so better separation and depth I like. What frequencies pick up certain metals, so let me ask you this what are you looking for everything, coins, relics for me to better understand, appreciate it
I live in Oregon as well ..i run the MX Sport..what is your opinion on that Machine. I love the fact its water proof. But i am not sure i am using it correctly in the settings. Would really appreciate your input on how to use it to the best of its ability..and curious what part of Oregon are you from.
Garrett would ruin em... not to mention they would over price it as well... all their machines are last decades tech at next generaion price... think about it ...the average (possibly lower than average) At pro should be 299 AT THE MOST !!,
I LOVED the mixed audio on v3i. I bout it when it first came out and was my only detector for years. Back then I was raising my 3 kids and couldn't afford more than one. Loved and hated v3i. I'd probably still be swinging it we're it faster and better in iron. But there were places it did fantastic. My first detector was mxt loved it too. Hope your great my friend! Love the front porch talks!!👍👍👍👍👍
How do I figure out if I’m picking up a gas line or something I get so nervous on signals that are similar in a trail n sometimes literally just an old trail n never have any idea so feels like defusing a bomb digging some of these targets
Gas lines and utility cables are buried far beyond the detection with our hobby detectors. Usually utilities pipes and cables are buried at least 18 inches deep...most at 24 inches deep. I have non desire to dig deeper than 10 inches anyway. You will be able to tell if a target is very long....it is an old steel pipe.
How much tones can your brain differ freak, it’s like saying there are 50 birds chirping how you going no, really maybe I’m slow but certain metals I’d think 20 tones is enough tell me
Try the Whites XLT with tone ID in iron.

A serious talk from the front porch. This must be serious.

Nokta claimed the same thing about the firmware update for the Anfibio.......FALSE CLAIMS!!
Still got my Dfx with mix mode.👍

If Garrett would update the V3i (faster, telescoping shaft, waterproof, etc.) they would have the best detector of all of them.

Before new year I hope
