Thanks Gary. Altbergs are made in Richmond. Fantastic boots, they do made to measure too. Amazing craftsmanship. Thanks for the pinpointer tips, invaluable.
lol I was digging a few holes like that the other day, you know when u get a good signal dig a big hole and then bugger the signal disappears. It’s not in the spoil it’s not picking up in the hole, as it’s been moved by the pressure to the side. Just got to trust the detector and keep rummaging in the hols to find it.
Wow! Absol. *Loving* that PinPoint/Shrink method Gary!! This cud be the 'Holy Grail' for me... 😆 Seriously tho', I've been using the PinPoint mode to try and gauge depth, but only by looking at the width of the rectangle after the 1st push... Of course, this doesn't discount tiny objects near the surface - but that method of yours looks like it could differentiate between the two... Gonna be owing you a coupla pints if this works mate!... 🙏 😋 🍺🍻 Take care, thanks again!! an' I'll report back if ya like? Ttfn, Bobby 🐭
@@The-skillschool Thanks G, you're on matey ✊ Just while I'm on: D'you know if this works for Deus 1 P/pointer mode mate? (I'm luck enough to have both machines... ☺) Tnx again Gary - awesome work my friend!... B 🦝
Thanks Gary. Another useful tip. A few days ago i bought another Deus 11 so i can have 2 . I am going to use it on the beaches most of the time as my main beach machine. That bit of lead, I knew it was lead as soon as the numbers were told. I find lots of lead in the 70's on land. But you cant always take the chance it is something else. The next target at 59 / 60 i said button and it was. 10.50 , Thats a long Gold chain LOL The next target i said Iron and it was. I find that Iron seems to come in at the late 70.s or early 80's and give a slight buzz. The next target i thought big lead or a coin. It was a big button . So close. I am finding the Deus 11 a lot easier than i thought the Deus 1 was. I think its the tones.
Nice info Gary, and nice to know I am not the only one who can take ages finding something in a deep hole! - Love the hat too.. My son works for them in Oz :)
Hi there Gary, enjoying all your informative videos. Have you came across “iron ore’s “ in the ground? used 3 different garret detectors and the sound they make this iron ore’s is extremely nice till you dig up and then the sound changes to a mixed iron sound…Curious if deus II see them as iron or does the same false signal as all my garret’s. Best regards
Hi thanks for your message. I have found large blons of Iron it is a product of Iron smelting. This will confuse a detector if deep. The Deus has more options to help identify it.
Great will try pin pointer technique nest time out, and yes Altberg are the best boots ever, had mine several years and never any blisters, too good for detecting though, use my old 20 year Brasher boots!
Hey Gary - jus' reporting back here as promised... I gave it a good go on Friday, an' tbh I haven't got to grips with it yet. I'm sure I need to keep doing it and develop a 'feel', but so far I'm just finding that pretty much *every* target shrinks on the 2nd press of the P/p button... It's possible my whole P/p technique is wrong tho' - 'cos I always swing the detector 2 or 3 feet to the side before I his the P/p button for the first time - this is because I always found it worked better that way. (If I hit the button right over the target, then it sometimes wouldn't give me a P/p reading and beep...). Any ideas mate? Tia 🙏 B🐭
Thanks Bob This method relies on the target being large(ish) coin sized. Hit the PP button while on top of the target, keep it static and press again. One tip is to keep the coil pressed onto the ground or as close to the ground as possible, don't lift it.
@@The-skillschool always that chance, at least it had shown the capabilities of the Deus 2 which I know people have their doubts. It's just a matter of trusting your detector and it's capabilities! :)
So that is detuning like you do with the MI6 pin pointer? I normally never mess with pinpoint. My coins in PA, USA are between 2 and 6 inches. Great video as always. If you ever come to the USA and are in PA, I would love to talk and detect together. Thanks for expanding my knowledge. 🎉🎉
@@The-skillschool great videos, keep them coming 👌Be good to see a simple specific easy 2 tone programme for small hammered with what you think would be ideal settings for ploughed and rolled fields as lot seems like stuble or pasture. Cheers

how do you charge the m1-6 pinpointer for the Deus II metal detector
Unscrew the cap and plug in the USB cable.
Thanks Gary, great video, impressive clear signals with the D2 at depth.
Nothing like digging a few deep targets to warm you up on a cold day! 😊
Thanks Neil, heavy frost again this morning.
I'm out with the Hayling Detect Club, let's hope it warms up.
@@The-skillschool Good luck today, hope the sun comes out and warms the proceedings up a bit! 👍🏻
Probably a daft question but does the Deus 2 lite have the same functionality as the more expensive version?
Yes pretty much the same although you can't submerge it, no speaker, no XY profile, same features and performance.
Wow, I can't wait to give this a try. It's gonna feel like I have xray vision!
Thanks DB 🤝👍
This Is a Great tip 👍, We are all going to need a bigger shovel 😅
You got that right David
Does this method for determining depth work with the Deus 1 also?
Yes it does, I will show it on my next Deus 1 pasture video
Nice one Gary you should have dug that long pipe... I mean long sword 😉👍
I know, perhaps next time we are on that field
Glad you didn't give up on the last target, any id marks?

Won't it detune the target if you are right over it, regardless of depth?
If you keep pressing the button it will totally detune it eventually.
Put deep programmes in, then expect to go deep 😂
