- Today I got my first glimpse of real Ireland or perhaps the old forgotten Ireland on the backroads between Tinahely and Gorey in County Wexford.

Wow so Beautiful all the land ❤️ and the animals
Your videos make the time fly when I'm on the treadmill Derek 👍
Welcome back Derek. I'd say it was hard to turn down the few pints on a rainy day
Cheers Pete and yes. Funny story: I received a message from Callum that night (the other hiker). A number of punters bought him pints in the pub and the barman offered him to sleep in the shed out back of the pub. He was delighted and slept in the shed 😂
Great video, Derek
Your such an inspiration I know i can speak for everyone and say we all really appreciate these videos thank you.
I appreciate the kind words and support 😊
that was a monster trek today Derek, thanks for bringing us along for the journey
Yeah it was by far the biggest of this walk but actually felt pretty good! My pleasure Patcher 🙏
Derek, I found your channel a few weeks ago and have since binge watched all of your journeys already! Just love what you are sharing. It is so uplifting! All the best😊
Well done derek great to see all the familiar sights of the wicklow way .. amazing trail ..
That's some walk Derek. You must have really wanted to get there. I'm sure they're looking forward to seeing you. Enjoy!
Yeah 41km today! My brother was going up to Dublin the next morning for work so I pushed on to catch him before he left :)
Hi Derek,
I just completed the Wicklow Way 10 days ago, starting from Clonegall and was blessed with the weather. Pity I missed you on 'The Way' as I would have loved to have met with you.
Keep going with the great outdoor videos.
The Slieve Bloom Way is also a great trail, athough shorter in distance and the vista may not be as spectacular ( in particular Glenmalure to Crone Woods) however, it is more off road and off the beaten track!!!
Enjoy yourself and be safe.
Brian.
Cheers Brian and sorry to have missed you along the way 🙏
Nice walk. Nice trip. I have subscribed to your channel now ❤
Cheers for the sub!
Well done Derek, Go n-éirí an bóthar leat.
Hello you! 😊 Just love your adventures. lol smell of manure!! My Mother used to say that too. It would bring back happy memories of her childhood and I think of her when I smell it too.
Haha although I am joking about the smell…..I just love cows 😂
@@DerekCullenOutdoors lol now I know where my nutty genes come from! She was not joking. 😜
Will meet you in corlea trackway when you come to Longford, loving the videos!
Cheers. I look forward to going back to Corlea !
Great stuff! I've been living in Hollyfort for the past 23yrs! haha!
Haha really. I don’t think I went through hollyfort in the end but it sounds lovely….as I said in the video 😂
@@DerekCullenOutdoors it's a kip! haha 😂
Is that a Leonard cohen hat ? I see it has his unified hearts logo ?!
Going well. Do you have different thoughts this year.❤
Great videos Derek.
I don’t remember you using the poles in previous treks (though i could be wrong on that).
Any reason you’re using them this time? Do they help much, and how?
Yeah I have always used poles and would not consider a long distance walk without them. I tried hiking the first 6 weeks of the pct without poles in 2018 and suffered tremendous injuries. I then began using poles and the injuries stopped. I also realized just how much easier on the body it is to hike with poles. Using poles also helps prevent you from leaning forward and staring at the ground as you hike (which many people do). Honestly, I cannot recommend them enough 🙏
@@DerekCullenOutdoors I never noticed them before, they either blended into the background or maybe when you were filming they were out of shot. Or I’m just not very observant!!
Best of luck with the rest of the trip.
How do you know where to walk?
There are markers/signs on this trail 🙏
