    Great video, tip for people struggling with 06:30 you can you a deep socket, either a 10mm , 13mm or 15mm (I forget the size) but that is deep enough to reach down onto the nut without rounding to loosen it a few turns.

Fault fan on constant. 1st relay- wrong item. 2nd item fitted, but not the fault. 3rd was sensor- not at fault. 4th final thermostat 🤗🤗 at last! Enjoyed your vids pal. Being truthful like the item you got helps us no end. I replaced the water pump a bit ago. 👍👍

    Left and right is always determined when sat in the car so the left-hand side would be the passenger side and the right-hand side would be the driver's side and also when draining the system never try and drain from the tap on the rad because if it cracks and leaks its new rad time especially on old cars when most of the plastic is old and brittle.

    Just had this with my car changed the 2 temperature sensors fan was still on. Then changed the resistor. Fan was still on. Bought a new thermostat comes complete with housing unit £17.89 of eBay stuck that in myself pure easy 3 bolts. Seems to have done the trick. My fans off. Warning light is off car running like a dream. You also have to top up coolant so buy 2-3 litres as you lose almost all of it when changing the thermostat. X

    didn't see you turn your heater on hot when you started the car ... that's why your water wasn't circulating around the system properly. But I'm sure you turned them on when you went for your drive ... which solved it for you!

    I hope you can help me, but I have a x reg corsa b that is leaking coolant via two bolts at the bottom of the engine by the drivers side wheel. If I tighten the bolt and it doesn't stop leaking, where do I go from there? Also I don't suppose you know what those two downwards facing, torque head bolts, are called do you? Would be helpful for torque settings. Thanks.

    What is the function of the sensor adjacent to the thermostat housing for ?
    Mine has a slight oil leak when I feel it at the bottom,I don't know if it's a seal or gasket at fault,but I get a small drip or two on the garage floor from there sometimes.?
    It doesn't appear to be related to the rocker cover,it's just a niggling thing that annoys me because it runs down & around the engine sump.
    Thanks for the video,thumbs up.

      Hi, that is the oil pressure sensor that does often leak slightly. You can buy them cheaply but beware, they are soft metal and can snap if too much force applied.
      I think I did a video on replacing it if you search the channel

    Hi there,
    I have the same problem and I'm wondering is it worth getting a new expansion tank or used one since I don't drive the car that much anyway because maybe in the future I might replace it with a brand new one. Can I replace it myself and do I have to be really careful to remove the retaining clips from the other pipe. Also I don't know if it's worth replace because I have checked the antifreeze since I have not topped it up a lot and it seems fine to me. Should I replace it anyway just to be safe. And also the fan is blowing could this be the issue. Cause when I top up the antifreeze it runs out as soon as I drive off and gets to a boiling point. Please let me know as soon as possible please.
    Thanks

    Hi. I wonder if you could please help me. I have opel corsa D (2010, petrol, A12XEL engine) and the problem is that the coolant boils. I'v changed thermostat, coolant (also unblocked the system and pipes using special liquid) and nothing helped. I know that thermostat doesn't open. The hose right after thermostat is always cold. The water pumps seems to work (during this summer I've been driving without thermostat - had only the boxing - the coolant didn't boil and mentioned hose was warm). Can it be, that thermostat in this specific car opens (and closes) electronically (not only mechanically)? It would mean that I have some issue with car software or temperature measurement. Is there a possibility to unplug some pin and make thermostat open mechanically? Maybe you would have some tips, what should I check? What could cause the problem. Thanks!

    • @evieemaya88
      @evieemaya88 3 роки тому

      Hello. These thermostat are not opened electronically, they are controlled by the temperature of the coolant aka antifreeze. Now Corsas thermostats run pretty hot , about 107 degrees before they open. Inside the Corsa on the dash you can get up the ' hidden menu' that tells you the coolant temperature (type in on UA-cam Corsa D hidden menu' - but basically you have to turn car on - press and hold the button on the right steering wheel stalk 4 times - wait for the menu to change on dash - then press the button another 5 times.) This number should get to 107 degrees and radiator fan turn on at aroun 109 - 110c. Let it get to 107 a few times, you should feel the bottom radiator hose get hot, if I doesn't then you lost likely have a failed thermostat. My hose was staying cold like yours but I had to just wait a few times as the thermostat STARTS to open at 107c but the the car cools it back down quickly as the fan turns on at 109c. So just let the car do it a few times

    • @raimus2
      @raimus2 3 роки тому +1

      @@evieemaya88 First, thank you for the response. Somewhere I read that thermostat should start opening at about 95c (fully open when about 107c) and the fan turn on at a bit higher temperature as last. Running temperature like107c is pretty hot, yes. But during the summer (outside temp. 20c and more) I had almost 117c very quick and fan was running. Now, when outside is about 0c I have coolant 107c. This idea of electronically control of thermostat was suggested by my mechanic (the software/driver issue). Thermostat was changed and tested. What's more, the coolant boils when it reaches 107c. The coolant should have 137c boiling temperature. So maybe there is too low pressure in the cooling system? Or the coolant temperature sensor is false?

    • @evieemaya88
      @evieemaya88 3 роки тому +1

      @@raimus2 No a problem :-). What happened with me was my water pumped had failed, coolant starting leaking from there. As preventative maintenance I also decided to change thermostat, even though nothing was wrong with my original OEM one. Upon refitting, I tested both thermostat stats old and new in cooking oil and my readings for them opening was about 107c, I was using a digital thermometer and laser themrmometer to check this. (bear in mind who know how accurate they were - but point was they both were reading around the same before thermostat opened up). It wasnt connected electronically then, just opened up at the desired temp. Now I have read to that they open at 90c, 95c, 105c and so on and this is why for so long i was back and forth with my car, maybe they vary on models, mine being a 1.2 sxi 63 plate. I did a whole write on this on the Corsa D UK forum , and Vauxhall Owners Network forum and the corsa.co.uk forum (which you may want to join to get more help) as It can drive you alittle mad. My point is when tested manually they open as they should when reached there specific temp range. Now what also could be an issue is a faulty coolant temp sensor , becuase if that is reading wrong and tell your car it is 117c but really it is 90c say, the thermostat wont open but the raidator fan will kick in. I would suggested joining these forums and speaking with other corsa owners who may experience same issues.

      If the coolant is boiling either the thermostat is faulty and stuck in the closed position or your coolant pump is not working. Check both and replace.
