Very cool video - this is the 2nd I've seen of yours. I bought my first Mac Mini in early 2020, one of the new M1's - and still have it today! Hands down one of the best computers I've ever owned.

Hi, nicely done, but you could have doen it faster, easier and for similar costs if you just had put in nvme drives with a $7 adapter and just left the old harddrives in not mounted. That’s how i did my mac mini and in my case the harddrive was still ok so it can be used to store data. So for those that do not want to take the whole mini apart this is an easier proces as only the bottom cover needs to be removed.
Hm, that’s an interesting idea, but still I will need nvme drives which are a bit pricy comparing to 2.5” sata drives
Kingston 250 GB NVMe drives are US$20 each. There is the added cost of the adapter, but this type install takes literally just 10 minutes, even for someone like me who doesn't do this often. Mind you, if the HD is broken, it's better to remove it. However, often times it's not broken, just missing an OS. If it's a working HD, you can just leave it there for extra storage or backup.
So was that ASUS just a display /monitor ???

Great job as usual. It was a bit confusing to see how you buy 3 ssd’s first and then try if that works. I’d buy 1 and try in all 3 mac minis and after confirming the problem is with ssd I’d buy 2 more ssd’s. Although, you are the master and you must have been very confident in a root cause.
60 bucks is not that much of a risk, besides I have lots of other tech where I can use those :)
