My honest review after two years of constant use is that they are Utterly rubbish mattresses. I'd rather recommend marshmallows in a sack. It gets ridiculously soft after 5-6 months.

I have a domeo memory foam mattress, hasn’t dipped at all in 4 years. Brilliant mattress and so comfy. They are cheaper than these apparent top of the range ones
I've been turning my memory foam/pocket spring mattress every two weeks religiously since I got it about fifteen years ago and it's only now that I'm having to replace it (hence my checking this review out!).I'd highly recommend doing this as it helps lessen the very 'dips' featured. Same here I got rid of mine at only 2 yrs!! It got so bad and then to top it off I took the cover off to wash it, at low temp and then air dried, and it was a complete nightmare to get back on, the handles ripped off and the mattress became completely lumpy after this!! Horrendous!!! Complete scam Now bought a hypnos and have never slept so well
Thank you very much for your feedback and the first video. I bought this after watching your videos. I do agree, it does not smell as strong as other memory foam products. May God bless you both. You are a lovely adorable couple.
I've bought the Emma recently after watching UA-cam reviews on all different mattresses and I liked your review on it. I fall asleep straight away and having such good night sleeps it's so comfortable
Thank you so much for the review I just bought mine today. As for the smell it does have a foam rubber smell but it's not a problem at all. I will wait to enjoy Emma...
Finally after 4 years and 2 Emma mattresses later, they have collected the 2nd one and the manufacturer is in the process of refunding the original cost. The collecting company told me they collect more Emma Mattresses than any other make, so that tells a story. I now have a Brook and Wilde hybrid for the past few weeks and that appears to be very sound indeed. Far more substantial and with a degree of proper springs.
Hi Rich, I've had one for exactly 4 years and never been happy with it tbh. My partner detests it! What did you say to them and how did you contact them? I have tried to contact them about 5 times online and never had a response!
Oh so glad you manage too get a refund I didn’t they changed the first one got another one still on good just gave up they told me I was too late ,what a joke lol .
I am in the same position, the only difference is that I was not able to take refund - my newest replacement is ready for sell and I'm going to buy different brand.
The raised bit is a known fault with the mattress and will not go, only get worse to the point it wakes you up if you lay on it. I had three mattresses that all had the fault and finally trying to get a refund which is taking a lot longer than their advertised 3-10 working days
I'm thinking about buying one and was interesting to see how you felt about the mattress after 10 months. Video was really helpful, I'm convinced now to buy my first foam mattress.
I’m getting mine tomorrow! 🎉 Thank you for your awesome review! 💖 I live in my caravan all year round and needed something softer than the existing one. But can’t get room with any other comfy madras but found this one vacuum packed thick madras. 🎉
Mine is horrible got a massive dip where your backside goes so if you try to side sleep you roll back because of the dip. Total waste of money. Wished I never bought it!!
Thanks for the quick response. I am on my 2nd hybrid. I weigh 12st 8 and my wife about 7. My side just sags and has become so soft. I feel I am rolling uphill to get to the other side of the bed. This 2nd mattress they replaced last July has only been in use for 3 months last year and 3 weeks this year as we are not always in the UK. It was great to begin with but now its lost much of its support very quickly. I am not sure these are built to last even if though they give a 10-year warranty. I see that the original is supposed to be firmer, so if they replace again I will be asking for the original. I am not sure that these foam mattresses are not much more than bit of a gimmick that makes high profits. They must take 5 minutes to produce a couple pieces of foam fitted into a zip cover. No quality compared to a more traditional type of mattress thats for sure. With no means of communication except email its not great customer support. At least with a shop you can talk face to face about an issue. Thanks again for your reply. Regards
@@m4speedway Sorry to say I do not rate this mattress very highly as it has exactly the same issue as the 1st mattress. Initially it is very comfortable but after just a few weeks in use there is sagging and a depression on whichever side of the bed I sleep. I weigh twelve and a half stone, so not very heavy yet the mattress becomes deformed quickly. I have turned the mattress around (not over) and within a few days sagging occurs. The result is, if I were to roll to to the opposite side of the mattress then its like rolling uphill and conversely if my wife were to roll onto my side then its like rolling downhill, as she describes it. This mattress does not support properly after a period of use. As far as memory foam is concerned then it has a short memory. I have actually gone to the trouble of placing equal weights on the mattress in the area of where the torso would be and using a level measured the depression from one side to another and clearly the depression is greater on my side by a considerable margin. The lack of support can easily be felt simply by depressing areas of the mattress with your hands and no matter whichever side I sleep on after a very short time the difference in resistance is easily felt. I actually feel as though my torso is lying in a depression which is akin to a hammock. I do not recommend this mattress unless you are very much lighter in weight. The depression in the mattress can also be easily seen when we get out of bed in the morning and the form of the mattress has not recovered by the end of the day.
@@matthewsle Well I did buy a type of Hybrid and it was the Brook + Wilde Elite. This is really worth a look. Very comfortable, comes in 3 different levels of firmness. 12 months trial and is a bed in a box type. Really exceptionally good compared to Emma. People who collected the Emma told me they collect more of these and the Simba mattress than any other make. From my experience I am not surprised.
correct they dip so the only part of the bed you can use is that dip (yet they use this to their advantage by saying it moulds your body into your sleeping position) yet basically what its doing is rendering the rest of the mattress as useless,..i had a nectar that i returned as it gave me a bad back and it made me sweat(never experienced this on any other mattress before) , totally put me off full memory foam all together, . but thats just my experience and memory foam suits others,
I tried this out earlier in John Lewis but I found it too firm. Not sure if it's one of those things where if I persevered I'd find it more comfortable. I much preferred the Hybrid, soft and cosy.
Do t know if it’s just me but bought a Emma king sized premium mattress and I feel as though Ive had some decent nights sleep after years ,it’s a bit weird to my other mattress as it’s unbelievably firm so will take some getting used to but so far so good ,impressed so far
I'm 100kg and it makes my back ache now. It started off fine so I think the mattress sags over time and just under a year later, alas outside of the trial period, I'm looking to replace it. I think longevity will be a problem for these mattresses especially if you're heavy. Buy cheap buy twice as they say.
Felt way to hard for me, it’s like sleeping on a plank of wood, don’t sink in at all. And mine had a strong smell even after a week I can still smell it. Emma has sent out a soft layer so hopefully that will make it better
I’ve ordered a hybrid last night but looking at that dip 10 months in kind of regretting it should not have dipped that soon let’s home I’m wrong. Thanks for the review
How has your hybrid mattress lasted any dips? Is it comfortable? I'm on a sleep trial of a memory foam mattress which is v comfortable not hot (not an emma), but I'm now considering a hybrid mattress as I'd like a firmer support when pressing into mattress to sit up as I have a lot of painful medical conditions. What's the comfort support level of your mattress?? 🙂
@@m4speedway so far I’m pleased with it it’s firm compared to the simba which I found to be too soft. The Emma is worth giving a go each to there own you can return if not happy. Good luck
I had a memory foam mattress a few years ago and when we tuck the cover off to wash it. You could see the moisture in the mattress, parts of it was turning green. It wasn’t an Emma mattress, but it’s put me off buying a memory foam mattress ever since
I bought 2 years ago one for my daughter. She likes the mattrass but when I bought it, I didn't realise that you can't turn it to sleep at the other side. But it is important to turn head to feet regulary. I wash the cover every 3 months on 60 or maybe also a little bit more if she got a bloodstain in the mattrass, I know the advice is 40 but 60 is important to kill dustmites and the cover isn't shrinking. I like my own mattrass much more, but matrasses are a personal thing. I think Emma is indeed very good for 2 people sleeping in one bed because it is indeed not bouncy but still not too firm.
Those dips are really really bad. Comfort wise but also for your physical health. Seeing this makes me think about returning my 2 weeks old emma mattress because if i can expect dips like these then its a really bad mattress which will cause serious problems in the future
@@jamesjfj1342 so why which have them as best mattress for the last 5 years i think cant be that bad ive had 3 now me and my 2 kids and we all love them
I’ve just had my Emma mattress delivered today and I really hope it will be better than my current spring mattress. Figured foam would be better as the springs act as a conductor to the wireless connections! Absolutely shocking to find that out so hoping this will help my health.
I spin mine around not flip... I found after a few months I start getting shoulder aches and pains.. Spinning the mattress stops this... Apart from that it's excellent
I want a mattress that I could get used to instantly and one that won't dip. I've had other low quality mattresses and even though it bounces, there's no dip
I have had to send my Emma Original Mattress back. Little did I know until owning it, I am what can be classed as a 'hot sleeper'. I wake up several times in the night to kick off the covers because I get completely overheated sleeping on this mattress. It's a real shame, because the mattress is very comfortable otherwise.
Read on which that they recommend that you rotate the mattress every 30 days for the first year… too avoid dips etc… then once very 6 months…then once a year after that
If its dipping your Emma has had it. Just had a battle (much more expensive memory foam one) with a mattress maker and retail store and they agreed finally to replace but its taken me 4 months to get to that point on a mattress with a ten year warranty and it coming up 5 y o. Manufacturers have been so slow about it and initially refused to replace but retailer intervened and we got agreement to replace. However we went out and bought a full one layer latex matress (has certification) of our choice. Talk about chalk and cheese. Pain gone. No coughing. Sinus issues resolving.
We bought ours from Lidl, we have had it 8 months, incredibly uncomfortable, I have resorted to sleeping on the floor as this is more comfortable until we can buy a traditional mattress, my wife still sleeps on it but the dip is now unbearable for her as she can no longer turn in bed now! The mattress is very hot in summer months and the smell has still not gone completely after 8 months. Beware of not buying direct as Emma do not offer any customer support if bought from Lidl! When we get a proper mattress we will cut this up to make outdoor bench cushions and a dog bed.
You need to know the real truth: If you do a bit of research, you will find that nearly all the new names - Emma, Eve, Matt, Simba, ... - in the mattress industry are fast growing tech companies that have no clue how to make quality mattresses, and are just in the business for making quick money. They use foam that no one has ever heard of, and offer only a 'one type fits all' model. How can this be the right mattress for everybody, no matter if you are light or overweight, small or big, have artritis or sweat a lot in bed? With these mattresses, you never find any certificates. They might use synthetic glue (that's why they smell when unpacked), which is not good for dealing with moisture. Are there any toxic products in the mattress? Is it a fire hazard? Since there are no certificates, it's hard to answer these questions. The cover is made of 100% polyester, also useless for dealing with moisture, and can be washed at 40 °C, which will not kill bed bugs (you need 60 °C for that). The way these mattresses are tested is often by repeatedly pressing something mechanically into the mattress and see what the consequences are after a few days. The body temperature and skin moisture of a sleeping person have a big influence on the effects of compression and wear, but these factors are not considered at all in the test. While these mattresses might score very good on durability in the mechanical compression test, it is totally unrealistic in real situations. The only positive thing they have is their price (that is why they often score 'Best Buy' prices). They are so cheap because the quality is so bad. There are already dents (which is destruction of the foam bubbles) in the mattress after 10 months. In five years time this mattress will be damaged severely. To get the mattress in the box for shipping, they are compressed very hard to reduce them in size, and wrapped airtight in plastic to keep them compressed. Most foam mattresses are designed to withstand a person of 120 kg. To get the Emma mattress in the small box, it is compressed by putting a pressure of 150 000 kg (yes, you read that right, one hundred and fifty thousand kg) on it. And it stays wrapped up for weeks. Ask any mattress expert out there what this does to a foam mattress, and they will all agree that this does irreversible and serious damage to the foam. So if you want a good mattress that will last for, and gives you comfort for a decade, be prepared to spend a bit more money on it, and don't buy one that comes in a box. It will do you good in the long run.
@@onzy2972 The best thing you can do is go to a real shop and test some mattresses out. Everyone is built different, sleeps different and has their own sleeping characteristics. What works good for me might not work for you. If you are looking for cold foam, Ravensberger (German), Royal Health Foam (Dutch) and Tempur (Danish) are reputable brands. Look for a HR (foam density) of 55 or more. Go to at least three different places and try to see through the sales talk they give you. Wear clothes with lines or squares and ask somebody to look if the lines are straight while you're on the bed in your preferred sleeping position(s) , or let someone take a picture so you can see for yourself how much your body is bent or straight. If you have a heavier build, the slats under the mattress also play a role, and can compensate another 10 to 30 % in straightness. Slats have lost their stiffness after about 10 years, an if you are a heavy person, it's best to replace them too after that time. There are many videos on testing mattresses, with plenty of tips and advice. Good luck with finding your best mattress, Onzy.
The Simba got a really bad dip either side. They replaced it and same thing again. Got rid of it. We now have the Remfit 600 and it's been amazing. No dips and far more comfortable than Simba. Might be worth trying after the Emma.
We bout remfit ortho 500 which is the firmest remfit mattress its really comfortable but its tooo heavy!!! I cant even change the sheets without my husband's help! Is you remfit heavy too? And what about emma and simba weight
Hi Mr & Mrs T, thanks for the great review. It's so hard to find honest feedback sometimes. And it was quite funny too. Can I ask, how is the mattress going now, about a year along? Thanks and kind regards, Richard.
What it’s like in the summer for heat? I have a memory foam mattress and I hate it because it makes you sweat even though it says it’s a cooling mattress however I am tempted for this Emma but need to know what’s it’s like for keeping you cool?

Interesting. I bought this memory foam mattress after reading all the fantastic reviews. However I sent it back because it was absolutely terrible. Like sleeping on a park bench. I persevered for about 30 days to see if it would improve. It didnt. It felt soft and squidgy with the hand but sleeping on it was sheer hell. I was crippled every morning despite Emma stating you will get the best night's sleep of your life!
I bought a emma mattress super king size. Had it around 4 years. We wake up with terrible body pains , never had a good night's sleep. Cant wait to throw this piece of crap away...
After 4 years with mine I have the exact same issues. Have aches and pains and not getting a good night's sleep on the Mattress. Plus the side you sleep on sinks adding more to the discomfort.
Hiiii !!! Loved watching your review!! I just wanted to ask as you’ve said that you’re of a heavier build . Do you sink in mr t !!! When you lie down and want to move after a few hours , do you find it difficult to move and that you’re sinking in .... do you also feel like you’re sloping or sliding off the bed ... as I’m feeling that and I’m gonna return my Emma
Iv really been struggling to choose a mattress for a long time, i know I’m very late to the party. My main problem is I’m heavy 19 stone and most mattresses are only rated to 18 stone. I just wondered do you still have this mattress (4 years on?) is it still alive? 😂 also which emma mattress is it? 🙏
We ordered our Emma mattress yesterday it is coming next week I can't wait as we have had our mattress for 10 years now so definitely need an upgrade :)
you maybe in for a disappointment as i read the review above, a long review that these mattresses do not last and are cheap made, i nearly purchased one glad i didn't
Cheers, all the way from Brazil! :) Found your channel while looking for real user's impressions about the Emma mattress, and you two answered all the questions I had in my mind about it. One important doubt I had was actually about the smell, since I have a dog's nose (in function, not form, hehe) and ended up getting rid of our latex foam pillows exactly for that reason. So... thanks to you both, I am buying a king-size Emma - and I am buying it today, as they're having a promo with 40% discount. Yay! Thank you & all the best ❤️
@@Tintenter Just to let you guys know, I bought my Emma that very day, it arrived two days later, and... I am loving it! :) Thanks again, and congratulations for the amazing channel ❤️
@@m4speedway When I first opened the box, there was a strong smell from the thick outer plastic (PVC, I guess) sheet that protects the bag where the mattress is enclosed. Once I cut the bag open with the provided opener, I've detected a whiff of polyurethane - which reminds me of coffee, for some reason - but not much more than that. Then I removed all the packaging material (and their smells) from the room and left the mattress on top of a duvet cover, on the floor, to get back to shape. We were still sleeping in our old apartment, so I went back to it and the mattress stayed in the new apartment. When we finally moved, three days later, the bedroom where the mattress stayed had no smell of foam or plastic or anything of that sort. Since my first night sleeping on the Emma, I haven't detected any smell at all, even when I sleep on my belly and my face ends up pressed against the mattress. We do use a mattress protector under the bedsheet, but it's a breathable one, so I don't think it would block any smells, if there were any. So... yes, I would label it as "safe for sharp noses". :)
Just given up on our 2nd Emma mattress. The dips have given me a bad back. Emma say we've got to have a 3rd replacement for another 6 months before they'll consider a refund. Sorry - I'm not risking making my bad back worse. DO NOT BUY AN EMMA MATTRESS.
Don't bother! I've only had the mattress since July 2019 and, after a only few months of use, the foam has softened considerably. This means that it's now too soft to support my back and it causes me significant pain. I don't believe these mattresses will last anywhere near 10 years! Worst mattress I've ever experienced.
Would you mind to tell us your height and weight? I was looking for this exactly information you gave, because i am 1.85m and 105kg. I think this matress will last less than a year. However, our friend bellow is right: why dont you try to use the guarantee?
@@victorantunes4119 I am assuming Scott is a big fella because he has not replied. The Ecosa a alternative mattress, I have heard it is more firm then the Emma. My parents have the Ecosa and they seem to be happy with theirs (2 years now) Dad is roughly 175cm 95kg.
I’m assuming this is the MEDIUM mattress? There is also a medium-firm option which is a fair bit more expensive. We’re used to a firm mattress but have been told that as you get older it’s better to avoid them, so maybe worth trying the medium.

Gret video and really useful, thanks. It looks like you've put the Emma mattress on an existing sprung base. Has it been on OK on that? I have the same situation - a base which is 12 years old but fine, and a mattress that's the same age but which needs replacing.
I noticed a smell on my new mattress, which is called off-gasing and is on all memory foam mattresses but some people can't smell it. They do say to ventilate the new mattress. I was actually feeling ill from the Offgasing after 2 weeks so I had a week's break, after that my side effects have gone although the smell is still present, but I'm very sensitive to all chemical smells. I'm still sleep trialling my mattress but if I decide I'm keeping it I'll put bicarbonate of soda on the mattress to help eliminate the odour. Do you ever feel hot in your mattress especially when it was new?

We purchased the hybrid pro and after 2 months we are now returning it as both me and my wife are waking up with bad backs due to the mattess dipping
Love ur sense of humor guys❤️
The raised bit is a known fault with the mattress and will not go, only get worse to the point it wakes you up if you lay on it. I had three mattresses that all had the fault and finally trying to get a refund which is taking a lot longer than their advertised 3-10 working days
This is actually a great real world, long term review of this mattress. Well done!
I don't call '11 months', a long term at all.
@@g7usl definitely long term for a UA-cam review!
Shhhhh @@g7usl! Shhhhhhhhh!
I'm thinking about buying one and was interesting to see how you felt about the mattress after 10 months. Video was really helpful, I'm convinced now to buy my first foam mattress.
How's it going?
I’m getting mine tomorrow! 🎉 Thank you for your awesome review! 💖 I live in my caravan all year round and needed something softer than the existing one. But can’t get room with any other comfy madras but found this one vacuum packed thick madras. 🎉
Mine is horrible got a massive dip where your backside goes so if you try to side sleep you roll back because of the dip.
Total waste of money. Wished I never bought it!!
In Taiwan here, and you guys helped me made up my mind buying one! Thanks for the genuine share
Regards
How has your 2nd mattress been?
@@alvor2762 completely agree I had the same experience. Would never buy a hybrid or memory foam mattress again.
Now have a hypnos and it's amazing
@@matthewsle Well I did buy a type of Hybrid and it was the Brook + Wilde Elite. This is really worth a look. Very comfortable, comes in 3 different levels of firmness. 12 months trial and is a bed in a box type. Really exceptionally good compared to Emma. People who collected the Emma told me they collect more of these and the Simba mattress than any other make. From my experience I am not surprised.
@@alvor2762 Did you check on how many of each brand they delivered in the first place? No? OK.
correct they dip so the only part of the bed you can use is that dip (yet they use this to their advantage by saying it moulds your body into your sleeping position) yet basically what its doing is rendering the rest of the mattress as useless,..i had a nectar that i returned as it gave me a bad back and it made me sweat(never experienced this on any other mattress before) , totally put me off full memory foam all together, . but thats just my experience and memory foam suits others,
I tried this out earlier in John Lewis but I found it too firm.
You can’t beat a good nights sleep. Thanks for the comment and stay safe.
*Do you recommend this mattress for heavy guys like 115kg's?*
Thank you Mr and Mrs T, you two are so cute. 👍🏼
Even people selling these Emma mattress at carpet right say they will stop selling them cause too many come back too many problems with it
Correct they are awful
With the price of eve mattress i personally think it should not imprint the shape of the sleeper
Those dips are really really bad. Comfort wise but also for your physical health. Seeing this makes me think about returning my 2 weeks old emma mattress because if i can expect dips like these then its a really bad mattress which will cause serious problems in the future
My memory foam is rubbish as well. Absolute scam imo
Which one did you get the springs one or the original?xo
@@jamesjfj1342 so why which have them as best mattress for the last 5 years i think cant be that bad ive had 3 now me and my 2 kids and we all love them
I’ve just had my Emma mattress delivered today and I really hope it will be better than my current spring mattress. Figured foam would be better as the springs act as a conductor to the wireless connections! Absolutely shocking to find that out so hoping this will help my health.
Amazing reviewing, helping a first time mattress buyer here in india in 2024!
dip thing was really helpful - i think that's the nature of memory foam regardless to their advert it will never retain its shape...thanks

I love mine! Still my favourite mattress after 5 years of use. No dips at all.
Hi, can i aso you what model do you have?
@@ericar.6091 it's the original version
I spin mine around not flip... I found after a few months I start getting shoulder aches and pains.. Spinning the mattress stops this... Apart from that it's excellent
I want a mattress that I could get used to instantly and one that won't dip. I've had other low quality mattresses and even though it bounces, there's no dip
Hi get sealy mattress can't get better sleep within minute 4 hours on end 😴
That dip is why I am looking to buy a new mattress so Emma’s is not for me
Thanks for your honest personal review. What is the composition of the mattress and the duration of the guarantee?
We bought ours from Lidl, we have had it 8 months, incredibly uncomfortable, I have resorted to sleeping on the floor as this is more comfortable until we can buy a traditional mattress, my wife still sleeps on it but the dip is now unbearable for her as she can no longer turn in bed now! The mattress is very hot in summer months and the smell has still not gone completely after 8 months. Beware of not buying direct as Emma do not offer any customer support if bought from Lidl! When we get a proper mattress we will cut this up to make outdoor bench cushions and a dog bed.
I'm a heavier chap myself. I'm wating for my Emma to arrive and your comments have reassuerd me :)
Did I buy one ? Is it worth it ?
I bet u are regretting it?
You need to know the real truth:
If you do a bit of research, you will find that nearly all the new names - Emma, Eve, Matt, Simba, ...
Interesting and quite logical! Any brand recommendations?
Thanks!
The Simba got a really bad dip either side. They replaced it and same thing again. Got rid of it.
We now have the Remfit 600 and it's been amazing. No dips and far more comfortable than Simba.
Might be worth trying after the Emma.

Interesting. I bought this memory foam mattress after reading all the fantastic reviews. However I sent it back because it was absolutely terrible. Like sleeping on a park bench. is this the premium one (hybrid with springs), or the original mattress (all foam)?

Found your channel while looking for real user's impressions about the Emma mattress, and you two answered all the questions I had in my mind about it. One important doubt I had was actually about the smell, since I have a dog's nose (in function, not form, hehe) and ended up getting rid of our latex foam pillows exactly for that reason.

Thanks again, and congratulations for the amazing channel ❤️
Katia did you notice smell from Emma mattress. My nose is like yours so the off-gassing from memory foam is a nuisance at first
@@m4speedway When I first opened the box, there was a strong smell from the thick outer plastic (PVC, I guess) sheet that protects the bag where the mattress is enclosed.
6 meses depois amiga, que tem a dizer sobre o seu colchão? Um abraço de Portugal :)
thank you very much for your honest real-life review. Does the mattress have springs as well or is it just foam through-thickness?

Great review. You both sound like a great pair!
I got mines today! Got a 5cm silent night topper to make the mattress last that little bit longer
How is it holding up? Just bought the Emma Original and I have a decent memory foam topper so I’ll have a similar combo soon!
Thanks for an informative video. I wondered how the cover surface feels
It doesn't appear to be completely smooth.
If there is a problem, ask a new one if they gif 10 year warranty.
Would you mind to tell us your height and weight? I was looking for this exactly information you gave, because i am 1.85m and 105kg. I think this matress will last less than a year. However, our friend bellow is right: why dont you try to use the guarantee?

Hi! Can you do a 1 year after review? How was the dip? Is it still good?
I noticed a smell on my new mattress, which is called off-gasing and is on all memory foam mattresses but some people can't smell it. They do say to ventilate the new mattress. I was actually feeling ill from the Offgasing after 2 weeks so I had a week's break, after that my side effects have gone although the smell is still present, but I'm very sensitive to all chemical smells. I'm still sleep trialling my mattress but if I decide I'm keeping it I'll put bicarbonate of soda on the mattress to help eliminate the odour.
