The greatest disappointment comes the moment the closing music is playing telling me your video is ending! This video stands out as a "top ten" in its discoveries and music and nature scenes. You deserve an award or recognition for "Outstanding Detectorist Film of 2022"! This path is truly a gem Hans and I thank you for your diligent attention to detail and film quality. God Bless. David

I doubted that, because the Czar's Army never went anywhere near Hans' place in Hesse during that time, but a short research proved that you are correct.👍
I wonder how that ended up there.

thank you my friend, I'm happy to hear that :) thank you also for your help on the buckle. I found an austrian buckle to be a weird find in my area but russian is even weirder. that's one beauty of metal detecting.. it keeps you wondering.

hi Hans, i was driving from fl. to New York and I took my metal detector with me. i found a field that had flea markets & Circuses in the past, I stopped metal detecting 2 years ago, I was too old and had trouble walking. today i was going to detect even if i died in that fiend. i found three Elephant bells in some tall grass. Large, med & small. the large one -3 1/2" Med 3 1/4" small 3" in Diameter. the large is about the size of a baseball. I had a problem getting back to the car. i fell 2 times detecting. it was worth it. It's my best find ever. i'm going back to the sofa and watch you detect. Hans, I want to thank you for all the years of pleasure you gave me, and more to come. i'm going out with this great find. thanks, looking forward to your next video. your best was the iron nut you ate, very funny. thanks again. steve

Dear Hans! The belt buckle with the two headed eagle not an austro-hungarian one, because in that types, there's a sword in the eagle's left claw, not a sceptre. I think this one rather is a ww1 russian infantry belt buckle. I love your videos, keep up the good work! Greetings from Hungary!

I watch a few metal detectorist channels here in the USA and I just came across your channel this evening. I watched two of your video's of you detecting on an old walking path. I love you content, both the detecting and the surrounding landscape and animals. My 6th great-grandfather came to America in 1767, landing in Philadelphia after leaving Germany. His name was Joseph Schlosser and he was born in 1745 and married in 1763 in Lembach, Frey-Grafenau, Beyern Germany. My last name is Slusser which was changed from Schlosser in the late 1700's by one of his son's named George Schlosser (Slusser). I hit the subscribe and like buttons and will be following your channel.

Lots of us share this passion for metal detection... May I add to this comment to you. In the U.S.A. You can find arrowheads that go back well over 10.000 years ago, you need only to walk the land. From a native, I wish you many more finds in the future. From an avid detector, for over 37 years. Again Thanks for your videos, I enjoy them!!!

What wonderful finds. The shoe buckle and pipe lid were especially nice. Your nature shots were fantastic. I believe the silver cylindrical object is a mechanical pencil. It might have attached to a woman's chatelaine or a man's watch chain. Very enjoyable video. Thank you, Hans.

Thank you, as always, for not only sharing your finds, but the beautiful nature surrounding you! The woodpeckers are lovely - we have a pair of Northern Flickers that have been visiting in the past two weeks. Nature and history unites us!

Hi Hans. I think the silver find is writing pen with lead refills. Maybe. Cheers from Australia

Thanks Hans, lovely video as usual. I am always interested to note the differences in design of the artefacts you find compared to what we have in the UK. That shoe buckle is a good example - over here, 17 - 18th century shoe buckles are very different to that. Happy hunting!

thank you my friend, I'm glad you like my video :) It's indeed interesting how some finds are different in design. I think it is a regional thing even in germany. however there are a lot of designs that were common in germany as well as in the uk.

    Excellent camara work.
Love the woodpecker shot, I hear them up the woods here sometimes but they're hard to track down. The ones I have seen here are green. I like the design work of Germany 1930s and the 40s,strong and admirable of a people.
