i started my little dog on bulgar wheat and add broccoli and turkey - threw away kibble. he really is doing better with energy. i will try adding probiotics too, thanks!!
My dude was recently on antibiotics after getting a laceration that required 6 sutures. His belly started bubbling and gurgling the 2nd day. I could tell that diarrhea wasn't far behind. I believe strongly in feeding good quality food to our pets. Always read ingredients. There seems to be a big rise in hyperthyroidism in cats. I often wonder is this rise due to diet? Love your channel!

Hi Dr. Jones. My little dog (mini poodle/possibly havenese too) itches and scratches and chews on his foot and it breaks my heart watching then hearing him too during the night. I did change his food but apparently this new one isn't right either. I've been doing research for myself FOR myself and have learned a lot about the microbiome and have realized animals have gut issues almost like humans do. i am starting tomorrow going to start making your turkey diet and since I also have your Ultimate Canine am going to add this to each serving. Praying this will be the answer. TULA is adorable by the way...and my little Shawnie has also eaten on a table although he prefers eating with me and I often feed something to him either on a fork or spoon1 Thanks much.

Hi Dr. Jones, Just finished reading your newsletter about heartworms....I lost a good girl decades from them, I now use & know that CDLS, ( 10 drops per liter of clean water) will not only help with other parasite problems, but also keep the heart-worms from invading & multiplying. before I heard about CDLS, I used ascorbic acid in the water bowl....it also works.
What is that? Wasn't on this video but I'd like to get that please. My dog has seizures from heartworm meds so I don't give them

I feed my dogs since little pups probiotics . I feed the ones from Adored Beast ! They have one sourced from healthy dogs. They are the best ! And my dogs love it
Probiotics - homemade organic milk kefir and old smelly bones that have been buried. Or even some meat that's been in the fridge a bit long. I had some raw, local, wild caught mackerel that was in the fridge too long, I let it ferment in a glass container for a good 10 days, my border collie loved it.
I have been giving my dog Greek live yoghurt. 1 table spoon in his food, it has helped so much and also half a teaspoon of manuka honey. My dog has been suffering with allergies with his skin. Caster oil for his hot spots/dry skin works wonders. I have stopped giving my dog any detervitives, this is a posh term for any meat or veg that is not fit for human consumption. Look up what really goes in our pet foods. 🤔🤔 my Doggie now has a diet of fresh foods. Chicken, carrots, sweet potatoes, rice, pasta. His health has improved immensely and allergies have improved as well 100% 💙🐶💙
What about using good clean plain organic yogurt or kefir without flavor or added sugars?
Perfect! That's exactly what I feed my dogs. Always organic, and the kefir is either goat's milk or coconut milk.
I have been giving my dog Greek live yoghurt for the last month due to having allergies and I am starting to see the results already. Probiotics are brilliant for our pets. 1 large pot of Greek live yoghurt costs me £1.50. Buying probiotics in tablet or chews are really expensive £18 for a months supply... Just buy a pot of Greek live yoghurt and add a tbsp in their food but dont buy the low fat 1 as it has a artificial sweetener in it that is not good for our pets.... 😊😊
Are probiotics for dogs same as those humans have in probiotic yoghurt?
I literally don’t know what to do. I just took my little guy into the vet. He’s had diarrhea since after Christmas. Now I’m just giving him rice and boiled chicken. I did order something called Pro-viable. It’s a paste with tablets. However, I ordered the one for a bigger dog. I called the vet to say hey should I give this to him because it just came in the mail. I never got an answer back. I just don’t even know what to do. I just found out that he has Stage four knee problems. I’m sad bc he changed my life! He’s part of the reason why I got sober four years ago.
Can you mix probiotics in your dog’s food? My food is very hard to give pills too, so it has to be undetectable on her food.
Yes! Absolutely. My dogs get a powder probiotic that I mix into their raw ground turkey. Even my pickiest dog gobbled it up. I also give them kefir with their meal (mixed with raw turkey, chicken hearts, raw egg). The kefir is a huge hit. Just make sure to get an unflavoured one. I switch between organic goat's milk kefir and organic coconut milk kefir. I hope that helps.
Great information! I'm hoping to incorporate probiotics in my cats diets, but they are notoriously picky. I'm probably going to have to experiment a little as far as how to incorporate it into their food. Wish me well!!
My 4yo Dog loves carrots (for him, anything crunchier), so, I ferment carrots and he thinks he is getting a real treat and loves the fermented carrot pieces including of course the main probiotics that he needs. I never gave due to any health issues, and he hasn't really had any health issues, before or after so can't comment on this side of things. Perhaps there is a food that your dog might like fermented.
Mix into wet food. When my dog had pancreatitis the vet gave us some powder to try. My girl didn’t like it. I had been giving her human probiotic capsules wrapped in cheese. Because we had to cut out excess fat I pulled apart the human probiotics and sprinkled on her food. You also mix it in a little yogurt. I used 0 % fat for her.
What do you feed to your cats?

Good info, Doc! When I read that French Bulldogs pass stinky gas often, I started my pup on probiotics from the get-go (product I currently use - Great Poop) and she’s rarely gassy and there’s no smell whatsoever when she does pass gas. I’m certain it has helped her gut biome.
Great Poop for Cats has been very hard to find, and I read that the dog one is now covered with some weird powder and doesn't work as well now.
What kind of pro biotics?

How do you ferment carrots? My dog has many allergies. The probiotics I have looked at all have flaxseed, and this is one of his allergens. Maybe making my own is what I need to do.
Dr, do you know if there is any correlation beteeen gut health and SARDS in dogs? My little guy was just diagnosed and went blind suddenly and I’ve been doing so much research (bc the a lot of vets I’ve spoken to haven’t ) and and I’m convinced there is a link. Sounds like a rod bacteria infection get him to the vet and they'll give you some drops

That’s definitely a Yeast infection and you should get him to the Vet ASAP! I know that it’s not always easy to do; Lord knows that most Vets charge a ridiculous amount of money for something minuscule and they treat you like crap when you question them. I’ve just seen this type of infection before and it’s caused my friends Dog to lose his hearing in the goopy ear. Sadly, he needed to be put down because he didn’t understand that he was deaf in that ear and he kept clawing at it and breaking every cone; shredding his ear and the side of his face in the hopes that he’d be able to hear again. Good luck to you! Don’t put hydrogen peroxide into your Dogs ear-it will make it worse. Try flushing it with bottled water mixed with vinegar. I know from experience that human ear drops can be used for Dogs-but do extensive research before proceeding. :)

Any suggestions for dog food for a dog allergic to most meats, has stomach issues.Ive done everything and thousands of dollars later, and after almost losing her, she's on royal canin hydrolyzed protein The only thing working. She's on high-end vitamins, probiotics, etc .Was brought up on raw, them cooked, and now this. I know she needs meat, and I don't like prescription food.

I've used high protein low-no sugar plain yogurt for years ... they love it! In fact the kefir I got one time had sugar and my dog refused to partake - smart dog.

I used diatomaceous earth to worm my dogs. Had to use probiotics to restore gut health. Wondering if i shouldn't use the DE for flea /worm control. It was food grade.
So I have been watching your old videos on allergies I didn’t comment on them since I wasn’t sure you would see the comment since there older videos but my pug has bad allergies I am going to start a food allergy test with her first to see if it’s that or environmental or both but my question is if her skin allergies don’t change much after the 2-3 months on the food recipe that you have listed does that mean she doesn’t have a food allergy and it’s most likely environmental? I want to blend no sugar greek yogurt with watered gelatin and freeze it for my dog's hot summer ahead. Will the freezing hurt the microbe population? Will the treat stay beneficial after the processing?

My boy takes a human probiotic, he's been taking for a few years now. How many dog owners dog has that toy lamb?? Our home has at least 8, big ones and little ones, they just love "Lamby" lol.

Has anyone personally tried his product? The probiotic for dogs? If so does it work or have good effects on your dog? Am looking for a good probiotic for my French Bulldog
I haven’t tried his products but I’ve been giving my Great Dane Service Dog/puppy frozen Peach or Blueberry Kiefer since I brought him home last August. He really loves it and his fur is so soft! I only give it to him twice per week and I usually do 2-3 tablespoons, but he’s a large puppy at 145-150lbs and about 34in tall from the ground to his shoulders. I’d give your puppy just one Teaspoon per week to start and gradually increase it to two Teaspoons ( depending on his size) and see what happens. I also buy raw Marrow bones from the local grocery store and give those to him. We feed him Fromm Salmon A La Veg kibble and Honest Kitchen’s dehydrated grain free Turkey. Those two companies are the only ones who don’t source anything from other countries, such as China, and are 100% made in America. I like to add baked trout or Salmon to his food with Coconut oil, Hemp protein powder, CBD oil (from Hippiechicksolutions in Maine,USA) Oregano, and a pinch of black garlic. I know that Garlic is usually considered bad for Dogs, but, I’ve noticed that the Fleas and Ticks don’t want to jump on him when he eats it in small amounts. What would anyone here recommend for an older female cat whose been pooping little round balls instead of normal cat poops? She drinks water but maybe not enough. Her diet is mixed wet and dry cat food. I do mix in slippery elm sometimes...what else?
Try raw or freeze dried raw with bone broth (no sodium is best). My 24 yo ragdoll perked up, and looks like a new girl. Add probiotics too. I use Primal freeze dried and Chowdah hairball buster probiotics, but any good quality products will suffice.

I never stop my Wolfdog from consuming other animals poop, she is a true scavenger, eats whole prey including the partially digested stomach contents, pelt, teeth..the lot. Never needs a vet!!
