From what I read you need a nest aware subscription and have to live in the US. Really sucks you have to pay and it is US only whereas Apple’s implementation is subscription free and works in more countries.
Given that Apple markets HomePod as a multi-room solution and smoke alarms are designed to set off all alarms in a building at once, I wonder how this then behaves. You see it specific which room the alert came from, and it connected to that pod.
It depends on the setup. In my house if you set one off the others don’t activate. It was the same way in the apartment I used to live in, albeit that one had a central alarm outside every building that _would_ activate.

Wouldn't work in my building, if one alarm is triggered, whole building's alarms get activated (it's a centrally managed fire alarm)

It was the same way in the apartment I used to live in, albeit that one had a central alarm outside every building that _would_ activate.
it wouldn't know which room the alarm came from, the homepod itself was named "bedroom homepod", which was the one that heard the alarm

It’s a critical alert.
