I absolutely LOVE my 2nd gen HomePod. Have 2 in stereo pair and they sound phenomenal, ESPECIALLY when I’m watching movies or tv. Like, the Spatial Audio effect, I can feel every BOOM, base, crash all of it when watching tv/movies or listening to music. I truly believe the HomePod is the most slept on accessory in the Apple ecosystem
I have a basic Vizio soundbar with wireless speaker and subwoofer. It seems to be causing my AppleTV 4K to flash a black screen on occasion, would Homepods be a comparable audio experience?
Love all your points! I wish there was a way to adjust the output sound. Also, I feel like that's an easy update to do, maybe one day if we all complain! haha
Any know how I can use my 2 Apple HomePods through my Xbox one series X ? I currently have an Apple 4K tv box for streaming but can’t figure out how to get this to work with my Xbox .
I’m also considering this set up and from what I’ve read you need to have eARC on your TV To send the Xbox audio back to the Apple TV through the HDMI cable. Unfortunately my TV doesn’t have eARC.
Thanks for the video and update! And just a question!! Why is it ALWAY! Endgame at the last battle that is playing on people’s TVs when they are talking about smart speakers sound quality!?!? lol just something I noticed! 🤣🤣
I also have a stereo pair of white HP2's at my desk in my home office. They're great but I wish I got the black. The white kind of looks like a roll of toilet paper.
I have to agree with this review! the evolution of each update wish APPLE had more technical public notes! but TV/ movies etc sound so much better!!! that enhanced dialogue mode is a GAME CHANGER!!!! also the sounds are great for a 2 speaker system! yes I miss having a dedicated subwoofer! if only APPLE released an update that can give us 2 additional home pods that act as rear speakers!!!!! that would be epic
I have a Google Home Max at home but I am starting to think about buying these instead. Not least because Google Assistant has gotten worse over time in my native language. I'm growing tired of the Google ecosystem.
why would you use Spotify 🤦🏻♂ I mean it has to be the worse music streaming service out there it sounds shocking bad compared to Apple Music and the ui just sucks I mean what is it trying to be a book subscription or a podcast subscription or a music subscription if you where going to have a music subscription you would go for tidal hi res which as from April is the same price as Spotify but I still think Apple Music gives you more money for you buck
You have to be joking if you think that Tidal’s Algorithm can even touch spotify, and the quality is tied quite closely to ones belief in MQA - I really like Qobuz when I tried for a few years but that the end of the day the grassroots music scenes are only found on spotify as it is so populat, smaller bands dont want to pay for multiple different publishing fees - fair enough if you don’t like the UI but it is clearly just the main contender in all streaming services, it’s no wonder that they have the aspiration and funding to branch out to exclusive podcasts and audiobook publishers.
I subscribe to Apple One and UA-cam Premium and UA-cam Music is MUCH better at discovering new music for me than Apple Music. Apple Music has a cleaner interface as always but UA-cam music is better. Never liked Spotify. There’s also minimal difference between the two in terms of quality. I love Apple but shills are hilarious.
Wow Apple fanboy much? Hahaha Anyone and everyone knows that Spotify is the ultimate streaming app for music and is leagues ahead of anything that Apple music has ever done or ever will do. The only thing Apple does well is hardware, everything else is garbage like Siri is in AI.
I took mine back to Apple after 24h. Why? Simple - Forced keychain & forced two factor security. I have many apple devices, ipod, ipad, iphone, airpods and love them all. I noticed the first unnecessary and invasive “obligation” as soon as I turned the Homepod on when a message appeared on my screen “two factor security is obligatory” - I refused. The homepod also requires the “Home” app and that app requires you turn on icloud keychain. If you don’t a full screen block message states “turn on keychain to continue” (Apples stealthy data logging, sensitive history and password hoarding software). Super invasive and unacceptable for a speaker. This is a wireless home speaker Apple, quit the control trip or you’ll lose users/buyers like you did with me. If I am “forced” to adopt your ludicrous attempts of securitization on another device then that will go to and be replaced by android. Keep doing it and I will rid myself of each apple device you do it on.
Worst speaker, ever don’t buy this crap it lasted me like 2 and a half years. POS over priced and no aux. lags, Siri is slow and has trouble connecting to the internet. It only worked as it should work for like 3 months. Worst purchase ever
Huh... I didn't find that to be the case for me. Bass was more than enough, anything more would've been too much for me. I've tried placing these HomePods in a bunch of different locations around the house, and the best sound comes from when the HomePod has a wall behind it. Maybe try placing em at different places around your place and see what sounds best.

Hundred percent! I wasn’t a huge believer until I used these and they’re amazing.
Be sure to get apple care they fail after 2-3 years
Having two of those for a stereo home theater setup totally surprised me. It’s a pretty great set and it has all the iPhone tap features and all that!
Right?? I think it's a game changer for sure!
Dope video. Love the perspective
Thanks bro!
I love my HomePod 2nd Gen!
Dude, it's amazing!

HomePods would probably sound better, if not similar to your soundbar + woofer. It sounds incredible honestly.
How do I find out if my tv has the capability to use it as a speaker for my tv using my ps5?
really good review thank you a lot!
Love all your points! I wish there was a way to adjust the output sound. Also, I feel like that's an easy update to do, maybe one day if we all complain! haha
Do you recommend one HomePod 2 or two HomePod minis ?
One HomePod 2 for sure.
Get a pair HomePod 2's. Life is short!
Can homepods connect to ps5 directly without apple tv?

How can I connect them with my ps5 I need that please???
Your TV must support eARC via HDMI. You’ll also need an Apple TV 4K
@@HeyMarkL I have Apple TV 4K HDR but I don’t have eARC in my tv is there another option?
A regular ARC will do. Plug the Apple TV on HDMI ARC and PS5 on the regular hdmi on your tv.
@@kylee8428thank you ! ❤
how do you pair the HomePods to the PS5?
I would like to know this too
You will need Apple TV to return audio.
@@jusdat1278 thank you
Apple TV + Homepod + eARC or ARC input in your TV
I gotta stop using my monitor speakers and get these 🔥
Oh, it's worth it! Soooo good.
You still use speaker monitors in 2023?!?
Thanks for the video and update! And just a question!! Why is it ALWAY! Endgame at the last battle that is playing on people’s TVs when they are talking about smart speakers sound quality!?!? lol just something I noticed! 🤣🤣
Can you use one as tv speaker or must work in pairs?
You can use one if you'd like.
I also have a stereo pair of white HP2's at my desk in my home office. They're great but I wish I got the black. The white kind of looks like a roll of toilet paper.
Still have ? Still recommend?
Yep still have this setup. It's amazing!

Apple Music sounds WAAAAAY better than Spotify.
Sure does

Give me AI on HomePod and then I am in
Turn off the Dolby atmos if you want a different sound
You go from; "wow it's so much better". But then you say "it got a little bit better". Hmmm

MQA WIIL FINALLY END ON THE 24th July all will be FLAC ON TIDAL so you will need to re download if you have MQA downloads
If you wanna pay £11.99 for crap streams then fine I will just pay £10.99 for the best streams

its because of the OG hoempod have issue. the second is better & reliable
But they are much less meaty in the bass, very disappointing, and Dolby Atmos tracks sound weird as hell
