The AM radio knob. His voice mimicking the sound... "Just trying to find something you can tolerate. And you wind up listening to something just the other side of the glove compartment" . Cars and driving still kills me.

Yeah, American "education" is a global joke. Like you won't find content about dumb Scandinavians for example. Carlin is insanely funny, as you said. But he is incredibly compelling even as a social commentator. Absolutely love the guy! 💯

Holy Crap! I had never seen that show...done in his later years. Absolutely amazing. What a performance. My God he was so intelligent...so much more than just a comedian. My brain hurts after watching that clip. It made me laugh and it tore my heart out at the same time. MESMERIZING! Thanks so much for sending that in... and thank you for your intelligence, class, and sincerity that you put into all of your reactions. I know you're young, but you're an old soul. You know how to find quality amidst all the trash... and thanks for your focus, and putting a spotlight of what's real and true, versus all the phony crap. I hope your audience is young like you, because you are an excellent teacher, in your own way. I love your taste in music, and just today I see you have an appreciation for intelligent comedy as well. Most guys your age have never heard good ROCK MUSIC or would know who George Carlin is.😊

5:13 Just for comparison about the obesity problem in the US that the stats don't tell, having lived 40+ years mostly in Finland and some in Japan, I had never seen an obese (not just regularly fat person) person live before I started working for a few years in tourism and had to deal with American and British tourists that were absolutely enormous in girth
My most horrifying experience with obese American tourists was actually on my own holiday in Hong Kong main island in 2008, where a family of extremely obese black Americans tried to forcibly ride the mini-tram (for about 40 people) up the mountain side Hong Kong is nestled on, even though the panicked driver was trying to tell them (with horrible English) they can't board, since the tram couldn't handle it! The family was complaining about discrimination and trying to force themselves inside, because they seemed to think they weren't being allowed to board just because they were black. Just one of them (she had to squeeze herself through the door) boarding tilted the mini-tram, and it was a family of 6 and each of them must have weighted at least 200kg
What ended up happening, is that everyone else on the mini-tram voluntarily got off the tram to allow some of these obese people to ride it up. When the tram started moving it could barely move, I don't know what happened to it eventually, hopefully they made it all the way up there. I sort of understand why that family was so insistent, and equally panicked, since they must not had realized how much uphill walking was going to be involved and they seemed completely exhausted just by the walk up to the mini-tram station (which was already pretty high up the hills/mountains)

In my early 20s, I lived for a while in Las Vegas. You could put your name on a list as a local and if shows didn't fill up, and you showed up to wait, they'd give you the vacant seat so the audience would seem like a full happening. I added my name to Carlin's shows. I didn't get in the first show or the next, but I got in the last one. It was my second time seeing him after randomly running into his show after hanging out in Ann Arbor one day during college. After the Vegas show at the Orleans casino, he got on a plane, flew home, and died. I did say I saw his last show. That was 2008. There's a standup, born after Carlin, who was sort of his successor in style, but he died before George did. Check out Bill Hicks. Since you like George, you'll like Bill.

Seldom see anyone that disagrees with George's take on things, and he probably was right, and yet it remains the same? It is has if there is a force much more powerful then compassion, and common sense that blocks us from making any real changes. The saying " there is something in our story wrong", yes, it is us.
But it comes from fighting our way through 100,000 years or more of just surviving to make it to the top of the food chain and now we have overcome all our natural enemies, we turn on each other and have become our own worst enemy.

Then... he became a godless man spewing endless vulgarities. Forgive me for being judgmental, but Groucho Marx once said, "If you have to be dirty to be funny, you're not funny." The sad thing is that George Carlin does not have to be dirty to be funny - he just decided to be vulgar.
