Hi there Pat. Pleased that you shut that door, there was such a draft. I was a little surprised that you are drinking that smooth pour Guinness and not the traditional Guinness. I have always fancied flying to Barra in the outer Hebrides. Landing and taking off on the beach. But the fare is astronomical. Walking From your Pub Shed, your garden path takes some negotiating. See you out on the next adventure. Take care, keep safe and keep smiling. Cheers 🍻 Pete.
Hi Pete, no don't want any draughts in the pub shed, just a warm cozy place, the Guinness was just a basic can but came through the hand pull very smooth, Barra trip sound something you have to do one day....... thanks Pat
I think whatever you do, Pat, you make everything seem so accessible to everybody - young, old, active, semi-active - and that's one of your most endearing qualities. You don't have to have specialist knowledge, or be an ultra-athlete, or have an unlimited amount of financial resources, to get outdoors and go exploring, whether that's around your local area for a day, or further afield. You inspire so many people, who are often filled with self-doubt, to give something new a try, which can open doors and give them a new lease of life. Many people would find travelling to Europe daunting and intimidating, but your gentle guidance, advice and encouragement, and the way you relate to people transcends barriers, and is often all that's needed for people to feel renewed, re-invigorated, and ready to take on new challenges. Quite simply, your videos are life-changing.
Hey up Pat, one word, Valencia. Ryan air fly there and it's blooming stunning, don't deny your self.... Ps sorry I meant to send a Xmas card last year but the run up was a little choppy and forgot, however merry Xmas 😂
So excited this morning to see you have a new video out!! Great info there for anyone travelling, I did have a little chuckle when you mentioned the spare underwear! I’m 61 now but when I was a school, about 13 years old and did cross country, I slid over in a large muddy puddle & yes the knickers had to come off with no spares, I had to sit in class without any as the PE teacher washed & dried mine, unfortunately when she came to return them, she called out a different girl, hence to say the whole class of girls & boys knew I had been sitting there without any. I can laugh now but back then terribly embarrassing. So ever since then, I carry a spare pair!!😂 Thanks for a smashing video & already looking forward to the next! No rest for the wicked as they say! 😂❤xx
Haha, yes a story you will always remember Sylvia, and I could imagine your embarrassment at 13 years old, but definitely worth carrying spares, who knows when they might come in useful. Always nice to talk to my viewers from the pub shed, it does feel like I,am chatting to old friends, anyway been sorting out my summer camping, I can hear the hills calling and will be getting back to some wild camping...... thanks Pat 😊
Great video pat and very informative and as always entertaining when coming from your pub. Safe travels on your journeys across Europe and I hope you have a great time👏👏👏👍#Thesheffieldlegend

Thanks for the great travel tips Pat and for sharing your knowledge and experience. Lots to see and do in Dublin on a day trip especially a visit to the Guinness Brewery. Kilmainham Gaol is also very interesting. If you decide to stay there longer there's fabulous hiking in the Wicklow mountains which are very close to Dublin. As always looking forward to your upcoming videos. Cheers!

Never had one of those but when my late father worked for the railway, we as kids had a travelcard where we could travel any distance across the network for free up to 15 times a year filling in the dates of travel on a lil card, after that it was a 3rd off, for close relatives of British Rail workers, until they Privatised it and it all went down the urinal thereafter sadly.
Hi Paul, yes always a good time in the pub shed, and great to be able to chat to my viewers, thanks for the offer of the Guinness glass, but I did buy some.....thank you again, all the best Pat

Great video Pat, stil interesting to see you visit cities and pubs in Europe, do share with us here. Hope to see another wild camp soon on Kinder, or closer to home with perhaps some typical traditional Yorkshire cooking!
Thanks John, going to get back out wild camping very soon, I have missed the hills, trips abroad are getting expensive as summer approaches so good to concentrate on camping for a while, and a bit of cooking of course....... thanks Pat 😊
Well it is like joining and old friend in the pub Pat, and thank you for inviting us in... As an exiled Tyke, I can attest to certain areas of the county which may disapprove of a shoulder bag on a bloke - but not Barnsley... They have embraced the man-bag... Wear it with pride next time out.. Thank you for sharing Pat and please, at least a few Shorts.. 🎥
Thanks for video. Got some hints. Always enjoy the pub. We use tear drop shaped cross body bags when traveling also. Ours have wires in the sling and wire mesh in the bag. Got them years ago on Amazon.
Glad you enjoyed it and always nice to sit in my pub and chat to my viewers, looking forward to some great wildcamps in the next few months.....thanks Pat
Hi Pat, cracking video, that hand pulled Guiness looked great, that must be a first. Sorry to hear about your achilles heel playing up hope it heals soon and you can stretch your legs soon, mind you a camp in the woods is always such good fun, or even a return to that look out perched over the city where you had a fish supper. Seeing the outro with the snow on the Pyrenees reminded me that I will be flying over that too tomorrow as i have to make a return journey for my fathers funeral on Wednesday. I've been absent for a while on UA-cam whilst I get my head around it. Although he wasnt into wild camping he did love to travel even if it was even only for a day, thats something he passed down to me. Some great tips especially the Oyster card railcard link up. I'm sure there will be lots of people who didnt know that one. I did chuckle with the vac packed underway but its such a good idea. You do see people making telephone payments all the time, I have yet to try it. It does worry me loosing the phone we use it for so much these days. Heres one tip that I have found useful and that is to take a multi point extensión lead, I often find you dont have an outlet by the bed and this helps of course going with my wife allows us to charge multiple devices and the best part is I have two of them one with a continental plug on it and the other with UK 3 pin. Anyway have a great weekend. All the best!!
Hi David, sorry to hear about your father, but a sad part of life that we all have to experience, hope everything goes well, the snow capped Pyrenees were such a beautiful sight. My Achilles tendon has caused me alot of problems, but is alot better now, it has probably taught me a good lesson on taking more care. The extra lead is a good idea with so many devices that need charging nower days, and he's we do now rely on our mobiles so much, myself included........ thanks Pat
Great video been following for a while and this is giving me some ideas. I am 41 in May, single no kids and have always wanted to go away alone but not really sure where to go or what to take. This has really helped and made me excited to get away. Thanks.
Hi Patrick thanks for this interesting video and things you take with you etc. I'm thinking of these day trips away as it's great way to see new places etc. It's good you can get cheap day flights spend time enjoying yourself and getting flight back home. Glad that you covered all the things you took as I did wonder what you needed to take. How to make your stuff safe on journey etc especially on a train journey. Thanks for this video and I hope you do more of these videos in the near future!
Yes I love the one day trips so much in 24 hours, and one of the enjoyable bits is planning, and making sure you have everything, and plenty of plan B's just in case....... all the best Pat
Nice to see you in the pub again Pat, good advise ive never been abroard so these one day trips seem a bit to much of a stretch for me, I think I need a holiday abroad before atempting anything like this, but it does seem like a good idea, the one day trips could give me a tast of the area, and would help in makeing a desision as to whether I would holiday in that destination in the future.
Yes I would definitely recommend trying a few trips, Ireland is certainly cheap to travel to, and no language problems, then you might feel more confident to travel further....all the best Pat
Thanks Patrick, as always a great and informative video. I'd also add my UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC free from the NHS) to the travel card wallet, and have you tried using the Guides feature on your iPhone Maps app? I use it for every new place I travel to whether it be at home or abroad - definitely recommended, it's just like have your own Guide book set-up for your travels and adds to the fun of planning for your trip. In there goes railway stations, hotels, bars, accommodation, etc. Give it a try. As for your passport, I also take a scanned paper copy too and as a last resort I also email a copy to myself, just in case I lose everything but can still hopefully access my email folders if I can get to a place with a computer. Safe travels Patrick, Cheers 👍🏻
Hi Rick, not used the guides feature but will have a look, everything seems to be migrating to a mobile phone now, but probably the way forward. Yes always take a paper copy of passport, for me and both my sons as well, just in case, thanks for the comments and enjoy your travels whenever they are...... thanks Pat
Can't beat a drop or three of the black stuff. I go through phases where I'll drink it in the local over my usual tipple. Good to see you are in decent nic, despite the Achilles niggle. Looking forward to your next adventure, all the best Pat.
Hi Andy, yes after a few trips to Ireland got a likeing for your stouts, and it ioos so consistant where ever you go, next video definetly back out wild camping, I have along list of camps to do, and I,am not getting any yonger......all the best Pat
Just started watching your videos. Brilliant I don’t know what it is but you just sound so interesting to listen to! Do you do much exploring of Scotland? We have lots to offer up here!! Loch Lomond, glen co, the highlands so much more.
Hi Pedro and welcome to my channel, and hoping I will keep you entertained, I only ever camp in my local Peak district and after 40+ years I,am still finding new places to camp, have visited your beautiful Scotland and its islands on many occasions with my wife, but never really camped up there.....see you on the next wild camp.......thanks Pat
Always good company in your Pub Shed Pat, and i love your one day trips, your last one was awesome. Edit, i think it's the Proverbial " watching the world go by" Next time you on a Plane again Pat, could you capture some more Arial Footage, such lovely views from an Aircraft. Thank you pat hope the Achilles heals soon 🍻
Hi Patrick. I can fully relate to the enjoyment of travelling, my trips/holidays always start from the moment I leave the house, not once I get out of the airport at the other end. I did my day trip to Dublin last Wednesday, it all went to plan and I really enjoyed the day, (5:30am-1:00am) I wasn't tired at all despite being on 2 hours of sleep! I've booked another solo trip, this time to La Rochelle for 2 days in June, really looking forward to it. I wish I lived closer to the airport to make one day trips more feasible, but 2 days is still perfect especially if I can find a cheap hotel at the other end. I'd personally love to see more of these day trip videos, I really enjoyed the last one. I'm soon going to be 19, only just started solo tripping around the UK last year and now it's finally nice to be doing it internationally. Hoping in the next few years to visit Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as many places in Europe as possible.
Hi Robert, yes we have the same feelings about travelling and you sound like you will have a great and interesting future with what you have planned. Your Dublin trip sounded great, I think there is so much happening and a bit of adhrenalin, you don't have time to feel tired. Remember La Rochelle on a driving trip when I was around 20, still have the photos, and memories, only feels a few years ago. You'll like the place, nice French port ond some lovely resturants.....all the best for the future.....Pat
Love your work and travel and Guiness... could you please share the exact brand and size of your rucksac and where to find it. Viewing from the U.S. I would like to have the same exact model . Cheers
Hi there I bought my bag about 5 years ago, but if you put in " Easy Jet under seat cabin bag " on eBay it should bring something similar up....hope this helps..... thanks Pat
Thanks Mark, yes plenty of new ideas for future videos, I can feel the hills calling so next few videos will be back out wild camping........ all the best Pat
I'm with you - I enjoy Travelling as well (On my Mountain Bike that is) I like to explore all the back country Roads & any paths that Criss cross the fields😊🚂🚂🚂
All I can say is that your videos are worth watching. Granted, I can't take the trips like you. Nor do I have a pub shed. I don't drink anyway. But its noce to have the little escape like that.
Nice one for the tips on the guinness and travelling! Been watching a bloke on UA-cam called Noel Philips recently, sure you'll like it. Hope you're achilies gets better soon, much love you absolute legend
Another very enjoyable video. I’m sitting in Pisa airport with my wife awaiting our flight home and used an hour to watch your video. We have had a few days here. I love the travel times too. Barcelona may be next. Take care of your achilles tendon. Don’t stress it while it’s mending. Take care. Cheers Warren 🤠
Hi Warren, I was there last Oct, a simple trip but so enjoyable. My Achilles tendon is doing very well once I get going, try to build up some miles and taking it slowly, not impressed with get older lark. Looking forward to getting back out on a few wild camping trips, and mix it with a few one day trips...... all the best Pat
Patrick, yes please do film the one day European trips, that last one was great viewing. One thing I always take when travelling is a couple of over the counter Panadol Osteo 650 mg. A flight attendant told me ‘a couple of moderate strength pain killers make any seat/bed/or sleeping position feel comfortable’, and she was right!!
I always do a kit list on holidays albeit i do mine in google keep .. very modern! Seeing that wards brewery sign to the left of you reminded me of the time i was studying in sheffield back in 1992 the sheffield poly/hallam it department was next to the wards brewery on ecclesall road. Plenty on nights where i drank to much as a student then suffered doubly in lectures with a hangover and the constant smell of beer brewing in lectures 😂
Yes I think we can all remember the beer brewing, nice area round there now, with The Sheaf Island Wetherspoons pub next to the brewery building.....those were the days.....thanks Pat

Really interesting and informative. I agree, that a lot of the fun in doing even the simplest trips is in the planning and travelling - picking a place to go, choosing how to go and what to see on the way and researching what to do once you've arrived. Do you also take a pocket torch?
Hi Malcolm he's agree with everything you say, it is the planning that is so interesting, and yes there will be a small torch in my pack somewhere...... thanks Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 If you and your mrs like the 1940's/1950's dances Pat, a lot of us that were at the Chesterfield thing go to a night at Dronfield Contact Club on thursday nights at 8pm. You'll get shown how to do all the dances and its only a fiver! Otherwise, see you around. Hope you like my sketch in the book at your favourite place btw :)
I love Guinness. I’ve got some beers from Pentrich brewery which is near Ripley in Derbyshire. They’re unusual beers and always cloudy but are great beers but you can only buy them directly from the brewery.
I was surprised how much I could relate to this video, the planning and travel of trip usually ends being more interesting than the destination. I also thought I was the only one that went to extreme lengths with my paperwork and photocopies of everything. I'll probably use some of your security measures as well. I haven't got Guinness but I'll raise my glass of Hobgoblin to you, cheers Patrick.
Thanks Ian and yes agree the planning is one of the enjoyable parts of these trips, so many different places and always looking for a bargain, and with the copies always best to be safe......cheers and all the best Pat
Bit of a performance all of that planning and packing lark isn't it pat but you're a great lad and I'm really glad you are enjoying your mini excursions. I recommend Luxembourg
Thing is I always like to be doing something, can't site there a minute, so if nothing to do I plan a trip keeps me busy and my brain active. Luxembourg sounds good, many years since I,very been so worth another visit........ thanks Pat
Yes Guinness is so consistent, and having done a few trips to Ireland I,am really getting to like the Stouts, Cork is nice with Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish all to choose from...... thanks Pat
Hi Faye, I loved doing these one day trips, they are all micro adventures, that can be done in one day. But I have missed the wild moorlands and hills, so for the next videos we will be back out wild camping 🏕️ and so looking forward to it...... thanks Pat
Hi there Ian, yes surprising how small they go , I bought the travel bag a few years ago off eBay, if you put in Easy Jet flight bag lots will come up should be on similar……thanks Pat
@patrickdickinson6492 cheers Pat, best stealth car set up I've seen on YT although I hear those powerbanks are good too but I can see you are a wizard at electrics👍🏻

Another great video from the pub shed. Really informative. I know what you mean about being on a high when you get back from a trip, keeps you young. I've only got 1 question. Any of your trips gone totally side ways and left you stranded and do you have a back up plan for that eventuality? Ps I really fancy a Guinness right now 🤣.
Hi David most of the time OK apart from a few delays, did get stranded in Carcassonne and had to make my own way back as I will of mentioned, and yes always ahve a plan B.....thanks Pat

I would be interested in the total cost of the day trips (on average) including parking charges food etc. It's a great thing to do but I wonder if these days the cost of the flight is a minor part of the total bill?
Good point!....the flight is the cheap part probably £30 to £100 return, while parking at a airport is most expensive around £50 miniuim, the rest is beer and food and you fit that to your budget.....thanks Pat
Logically laid out. Meticulously planned. Built, tested, and trimmed through experience. Very Patrick. Thank you, sir...

Great to share a few drinks with you, still not convinced I should walk round Barnsley with a man bag.....haha.....thanks Pat
@BoredManOutdoors
Fancy seeing you in 'ere 😉🍻👍
@@DaveandBuddyOutdoors The GOAT.. I'll settle for a virtual pint with Pat any day of the week 🍻
Man bag in Barnsley , can’t say I’ve seen one lol , I have seen a thirteen million pound bridge though lol.
Good video Pat, as always I enjoyed watching it. Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers 👍
Thanks Jim 👍....will be back out wild camping while summer airfares high then few trips end of year.... thanks Pat
Thanks for video. Got some hints. Always enjoy the pub. We use tear drop shaped cross body bags when traveling also. Ours have wires in the sling and wire mesh in the bag. Got them years ago on Amazon.
Sound a good idea, , I'll have a look at them..... thanks Pat
Always great to see a video from you Pat.
I was watching this with 'a wee dram'.
Entertaining and informative.
Cheers 🥃
Take care
All the best

Glad you enjoyed it and always nice to sit in my pub and chat to my viewers, looking forward to some great wildcamps in the next few months.....thanks Pat
Always a treat when you're video's come on mate! I enjoy them all from the shed to the hills.... I'm having a pint with pat. Thanks mate
Nice one...always nice to share a pint and have a natter from the pub shed.....thanks Pat
Oh when i was younger my joy was riding my bike through the the beautiful lavender fields of Provence. Love to do that again
Wonderful!....I would say go for it and relive those great memories.....thanks Pat
Fantabbydosy Pat, very informative with your very own inimitable style & humour. ❤🙏🏻👍🏻
Thank you kindly......great to share, and entertain.....thanks Pat
Another top video Patrick, you are a very organized man, I would probably end up getting lost, and I would drink to much , Haha Cheers
Yes I like to be organised, but after a few beers and a drop of wine, anything can happen...... all the best Pat
You need your own Tv programme, as many people would learn a lot from you. Looking forward to your next adventure, Pat!
Very nice of you to say, it is a pleasure to share my adventures with like minded people.....thanks Pat
The extra lead is a good idea with so many devices that need charging nower days, and he's we do now rely on our mobiles so much, myself included........ thanks Pat
I'm the same I love the process it's great missioning
Yes Dave, a great way to spend a day......thanks Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 respect pat
Great video been following for a while and this is giving me some ideas. I am 41 in May, single no kids and have always wanted to go away alone but not really sure where to go or what to take. This has really helped and made me excited to get away. Thanks.
That is awesome!...so good to know its given you a few ideas.....all the best Pat
Yes always take a paper copy of passport, for me and both my sons as well, just in case, thanks for the comments and enjoy your travels whenever they are...... thanks Pat
Terrific video, Pat.
Lots of interesting tips for people traveling.
It was good to be back in the pub shed. :)
Yes always good to be back in the pub shed, sharing a pint and chatting to my viewers .......... thanks Pat
Bruges for the weekend is great great beer it's medieval great things to see mate
So good, I have heard Belgium beer is very good..... thanks Pat 😊
Glad you enjoyed it, a great way to spend a day, and the view out the plane window is worth it for that alone......thanks Pat
Another interesting and informative video.
Glad you enjoyed it, looking forward to some challenging wild camps in that area.
Hi Patrick really look forward to all your videos, please keep going cheers!
Thanks, will do!...I love making them as much as you enjoy watching them........ thanks Pat
Love your work and travel and Guiness... could you please share the exact brand and size of your rucksac and where to find it. Viewing from the U.S. I would like to have the same exact model . Cheers
Hi there I bought my bag about 5 years ago, but if you put in " Easy Jet under seat cabin bag " on eBay it should bring something similar up....hope this helps..... thanks Pat
Another great video. Interesting and entertaining, Please keep them coming..
Yes it's the travelling, not the actual getting there..... thanks Pat
All I can say is that your videos are worth watching. Granted, I can't take the trips like you. Nor do I have a pub shed. I don't drink anyway. But its noce to have the little escape like that.
Its great to be able to share my adventures, wether on a trip or in the pub with you.....all the best Pat
Hi Pat, very good tips for days trips, thanks! Good luck for all the next ones!
Thank you, just an extension of my wild camping list, just alot more documentation......thanks Pat

Very informative video thank you pat. Answered a few questions I had.
Glad it was helpful Colin, so many places just a hour away..... thanks Pat
Patrick, yes please do film the one day European trips, that last one was great viewing.
One thing I always take when travelling is a couple of over the counter
Panadol Osteo 650 mg. A flight attendant told me ‘a couple of moderate strength pain killers make any seat/bed/or sleeping position feel comfortable’, and she was right!!
Hi Jim the pain killers sounds a great idea for a comfortable trip, something to try....... thanks Pat
Good 👍 video looking forward to the next one
Thanks Ashley, next video we'll be back out camping, the hills are calling...... thanks Pat

just a brilliant video love your content !! Come and do the south downs way
It would make a great walk, South then the North downs maybe if I ever have the time....thanks Pat 😄
Really interesting and informative. I agree, that a lot of the fun in doing even the simplest trips is in the planning and travelling - picking a place to go, choosing how to go and what to see on the way and researching what to do once you've arrived. Do you also take a pocket torch?
Hi Malcolm he's agree with everything you say, it is the planning that is so interesting, and yes there will be a small torch in my pack somewhere...... thanks Pat
Nice one Pat, very imformative. Good to meet you the other day in Chesterfield btw. All the best MrJiggs
Yes great to see you, if I don't see you again, same time and place next year, or whenever the next Chesterfield 40's is..........thanks Pat
I visit just to watch Patrick draw a pint. It's so satisfying.
Feels so good as well as the glass fills up with foaming beer, then settles into a pint of amber nectar....... all the best Pat 😊
Inspirational, love the channel and the pub
Thanks Chris...... all the best Pat
I love Guinness. I’ve got some beers from Pentrich brewery which is near Ripley in Derbyshire. They’re unusual beers and always cloudy but are great beers but you can only buy them directly from the brewery.
Sounds great Cheryl, so many nice beers to choose from now.......thanks Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 The brewery does have a website. My ancestors used to live in Pentrich during the last revolution in England
Hi Pat don't know why but this video only popped into my feed on Saturday 20 th. Regards from Chester.

Great video Pat 👍 That Guinness looked nice and smooth. Which cans did you use? The original or canned "draught"? Cheers! 🍻
Luxembourg sounds good, many years since I,very been so worth another visit........ thanks Pat
Ah, the pub shed. My favorite place I've never been to.

Hi andrew just the basic tin of Guiness, no widget just a standard can bought from Tesco in a pack.....thanks Pat

Hi Darren, yes I remeber, just got a wave in.......thanks Pat
I would be interested in the total cost of the day trips (on average) including parking charges food etc. It's a great thing to do but I wonder if these days the cost of the flight is a minor part of the total bill?
Good point!....the flight is the cheap part probably £30 to £100 return, while parking at a airport is most expensive around £50 miniuim, the rest is beer and food and you fit that to your budget.....thanks Pat
Pat for the shorts u should put up a minute in a pub abroad or restaurant perhaps a nice beer u try there, just a thought. Cheers mate
Or even a local pub, perhaps a new beer on the hand pull. A quick short would work a treat
