I think this is such a great thing you’re doing here...these old pulling trucks are a part of my past to...I remember seeing him pull in the Richmond coliseum late 80’s
I know Charlie Lawson’s Ford “The Judge”and Hansel Sullivan’s “Junk Yard Pup” were also pioneers in the 2WD class. Charlie pulled the “Brand X” 4WD for years in the 70’s and 80’s and everyone knows the Sullivan name in pulling. My Uncle Lige pulled the “Rowdy” 2WD truck for many years against Charlie and 3 or 4 of Sullivan’s 2WD trucks over the years. Awesome video series you are putting together!!
You should try and find High Riser. I can remember the name of the guy who pulled it. Also Danny White out of Midaway Ky pulled Showtime if I remember right. That would be another truck and story to tell.
@@robguysgarage5422 I live in Lawrenceburg Ky . I grew up watching High Riser Showtime and Orange Blossom Special. My family knew Allen Gaines , Danny White . Unfortunately they have all passed now. My father is friends with Eddie Carey , glad to see he’s persevering Allen’s trucks.
The Ranger was 1986, so you couldn't have seen it pull in 1981 or 1982. Also Allen drove up to Michigan and picked it up straight off the assembly line.
All of your videos on the pulling vehicles are great! I'm sure you have already thought about this, but you should do one on Art Arfons! I bet those tractors are still around, and his shop would be awesome to see!
The Arfons are high on my list, hope to get there next year, I want to see their stuff too, I'm really curious what they still have, thanks for watching!
That metal flake is gorgeous
Yes it is, all of Allen's trucks paint jobs are awesome, thanks for watching!

Do you know what happened to the Orange Blossom Train?
Terry Woodcock in California has it and he and his crew got it running a few months ago and now they are working on the body work
A lot of those rock fences were built by farmers to get the rocks out of the fields.
Makes sense, thank you
Eventually there will be another legendary 4WD to film Black Gold is currently being restored to its S10 appearance
Yup, I have talk to the guy that is restoring it, and I'm currently trying to get a hold of Paula Geuin for an interview also
How about doing don nolans yellow fever pro stock, one of only a handfull of mm that ever was competitive in pro
