  • This is one of our favorite roots here in our channel. So much that we have published many videos about it: benefits, recipes, etc.
However, we still see many people using turmeric the wrong way in their daily lives.
Also known as curcumin, it is an amazing anti-inflammatory. There are many papers and scientific studies which compare turmeric to anti-inflammatory medications sold in drugstores, and show turmeric's therapeutic power in treatments for pains, arthritis, arthrosis, etc.
Anti-inflammatory drugs can cause many side-effects when used for a long time. For example, they can overburden the liver, which may cause hepatic steatosis, also known as fatty liver disease.
If you use turmeric for a long time, you will notice the reverse happening. Turmeric stimulates healing and avoids the fibrosis that happens in liver cells, thus improving the organ's functioning.
Not to mention that it also reduces joint pains, improving function and articular mobility.
There are also many other amazing benefits for those who use turmeric the right way, every day.
But there are many people using this powerful natural remedy the wrong way, and so, they can't get all the benefits it has to offer.
Learn the right way to consume turmeric and potentialize your nutrient absorption.

I mix a half teaspoon of turmeric powder in a glass with cold water. I squeeze a slice of lemon and add a finely chopped garlic clove and I stir them all together. It's my morning "orange juice" and it keeps me 'wired' all day and night. I've never felt better.

1)Wash your meat with turmeric before cooking - it kills the bacteria
    2) mix with warm water and honey and apply to the face - watch out your face might turn orange for a little bit of time but it heals the damaged skin on face naturally
    3) mix turmeric in protein shakes - add more benefits
    4) salad dressing
    5) vaporizing - get the Vick’s or any steam inhaler - put a half table spoon of turmeric and add some herbal leaves in water . Kick the sinus out in minutes
    6) massage - ask your masseuse to apply turmeric with warm natural oils or hot stones to skin - see the difference
    7) mix turmeric with ginger garlic and lime like a paste and add it to meat patty’s - ummmm
These all things I practiced from my childhood while growing up in India - because my mom forced them lol . But now I realize how important it is .
    Peace .

I was down with Jaundice a few years ago. My liver tests were off the charts with high Bilurubin etc.
I started having turmeric with water in morning, empty stomach, and giving a 1 hr break after after having turmeric.
And within 1 or maybe 1.5 years, my liver tests results were back to normal.
Note: I don't drink and controlled high cholesterol food. Maybe that also would have helped.

I am on the journey to reduce my high blood pressure recently due to high sodium intake and possibly clogged arteries from eating high glucose as well. So I made some minor adjustments so far and willing to try out other food such as turmeric, etc. I already changed my diet to eating kale, spinach a few months ago and that has helped reduced the inflammation big time so it definitely worked. I haven't had pain/inflammation since July was my last pain attack? So far so good. Hopefully to have my high blood pressure sorted ASAP it seems to be a difficult one but will get there have to be discipline.

I've always been a great fan of tumeric.. would be glad if anyone could clarify my doubts...
Does consuming tumeric in powder form effect the kidneys in the long run?
I mean would the residure form the powder harm the kidney or accumulate in the kidneys?
Would letting the powder steep first before consuming be a better choice?
Many stores are selling 2 types of tumeric powdwer..one is tumeric mixed with other spices and the other is pure tumeric powder...read the label before buying...
Hope someone would answer my doubts.. really appreciate it..

I was advised by a nurse who was using Turmeric for Arthritis joint pain. I got a recipe online on how to take it, in a cup of warm water add: a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of the turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix n drink every morning before you consume anything. I personally use a very small amount of the black pepper, more like a dash and it's suppose to help me with my joint pain n gastritis and over all health. This is just one way that you can take it and I was able to consume it. Maybe it can work for you. ✌

could have avoided the sales pitch and given more details on mixes with turmeric... i.e. "how to correctly"...

    • @kma3647
      @kma3647 4 роки тому +2

The "sales pitch" is necessary. It answers the question of why would you use it:
      -Antiinflammatory
      -Promote heart health
      -Promote memory, mood
      -Protect the liver
      -Certain types of cancer
Of course the catch is that they stay qualitative and never tell you how much difference they make or how they compare to the current standard of medical practice. I always take this kind of a "sales pitch" with a huge grain of salt. If turmeric was that good and substantiated by studies, Pharma would have patented it and monetized the heck out of it and quickly. That's not to say that there aren't benefits. There are, but it's not going to instantly cure your arthritis or bring your Alzheimer's-afflicted grandmother her memory back - and people need to know the honest truth about what it can (and CAN'T) do.

Curcumin is not a synonym for turmeric, it's the active compound. This difference is important when it comes to supplementation, especially for dosage. Curcumin will generally be more concentrated (excepting dilution with fillers and such) than turmeric. The herb itself may have higher bioavailability, but will take substantially more in weight and volume to produce equivalent effects to a curcumin extract.

The best way of getting the benefits from turmeric is to consume the whole plant. In the absence of that, the whole ground powder would be second choice. Adding black pepper may increase its effects, but more isn’t always better !
Adding oil of any kind is a processed food and will do nothing but clog your arteries adding to a host of other degenerative problems. Coffee is a stimulant that will eventually destroy your adrenal glands and hormone production. Turmeric YES, with maybe a pinch of black pepper, the rest of the ingredients are unwanted and unhealthy.

Nothing is poisoning, everything is poisoning. The difference is in the quantities
      1 or 2 coffee it's OK .
      More is wrong.
      1 or 2 . Vs cancer
      More helps cancer

No this post is Full of Bad and missing information. Now if you use Crisco or any cooking oil similar to Crisco then you have some of this right. Get rid of Crisco and similar cooking oils they are killers. But cold pressed coconut oil, virgin olive oil, ghee, real butter are All beneficial. Saying adding oil of any kind is a horrible and misleading gloss. And as for the coffee this is all wrong too.

Freida Paynor ......in India turmeric is normally mixed with Spoonful of yoghurt and a spoon of chickpea flour ( also known as Besan and easily available in all the Indian stores )......stir it all well and apply on your face, neck , arms and hands. Wash it off once it’s dry !
If you can’t find the Besan, then even turmeric with plain yoghurt will do the job......it might be a bit runny though!

The cheapest way to take tumeric is as follow:
    1) Buy a pound of ground tumeric for $7 from an Indian grocery. This will last you for about two years.
    2) Buy 1/2 pound of whole black pepper corn for $5 from Indian grocer.
    3) Buy a pound of any kinds of nuts from any grocery
Get a coffee mug put hot water in and mix about one teaspoon and sip it as tea.
Before sipping the tea, put about 5-10 pepper corns in your mouth and crush them with you teeth.
Eat about one ounce of nuts while drinking the tea. The fat in the nuts and the pepper corns help the absorption of the tummeric.
NO ANIMAL FAT AND NO PROCESSED OIL HERE.
ANY LIQUID OIL IS PROCESSED OIL.

You can make it into a tea as well by adding a half of a teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of honey and a pinch of black pepper. Just use a small cup for the tea which makes it quicker to drink. You can also add it to smoothies and you don't even taste it at all. Hope that helps a bit, good luck!
