To everyone in the FRS Community our thoughts go out to you and your family during this difficult time. We hope you enjoyed our latest installment. Please take good care of each other. Troy and Pascale
The journey is just as important as the destination, thanks for sharing it with us especially during these hard times of isolation , helps keep the spirits up for another adventure on the big blue
Really enjoy watching your vids as I work away in the office. I always dreamed of buying a 30 Ft + sailboat and living your life, but my life got in the way. Now at 69 with a pacemaker, I have the $ to buy a sailboat, but I just couldnt do it physically. I now live vicariously through you two. I prefer your vids over the others, because your video's make me feel the most like I am there, your "go cam" sways to neutral as the boat pitches back & forth and I almost feel like I am sailing with you. I dont watch the click bait sailing vids , and the others dont have your signature. Thanks for posting your life ongoing.
almost 79000 subscribers lifts you from minor to popular. That last sunset was amazing... Nice to see such beauty in nature while nature is throwing some grief around... you lifted my day.. Thank you both...
Stay safe and keep on having fun adventures. We will get through this. Perhaps not without some serious sacrifice, but in the end things will carry on. Thanks for the video.
We are all going through something that our world has never seen before. It has brought out much good and some bad. Your videos give us a relief from it all! Many of us have been touched personally by this, including me. Thank you both for the break from distancing, constant sanitizing, no hugs or hand shakes, and staying at least six feet apart. Plus, looking at anyone who coughs or sneezes like, do they have the virus? Knowing that many show no signs. But we are finding creative ways to deal with it. Make lemonade out of lemons! It's what we do! Tomorrow is Easter. We have two teenage grandchildren living with us. We will have an indoor Easter egg hunt for them! They are excited about it! My husband and I are necessary workers and still work with the public. We take all of the precautions that we can and pray for the best. Staying positive and helping community when we can!
Nice to see Babel Island again. I was anchored there just a few days later while delivering Love and War back to Sydney after her race to Hobart. We had to miss the stop in Eden because by then they were dealing with the fires. It all seems a lifetime ago now....
The stress of just working a normal job is almost overwhelming. Going to get groceries once every other week then coming home and cleaning it all before taking it in raise’s the anxiety level so high. You wonder if you done everything correct and safely. So today I decided not to worry as much and go cruising a bit around Australia with you guys. I pray for the ones on the front lines dealing with this pandemic. Thanks guys. It was a great video as always.
If you have space for a 5l still on board you can make methanol ( wood alcohol ) from wood or paper scrap in water through distillation. Also good back up to distill sea water to fresh drinking water.
Your production qualities here are just brilliant. This is more like a mini doco. I can see and do appreciate the considerable efforts you are putting in to these videos. The colors are beautiful and the cinematography is first class. I love your philosophy. Thanks and good to see you back.
Completely agree. I'm sure editing the video is the last thing you want to do, and remembering to film things must be a drag, but it is so appreciated by your viewers. Those last shots with the drone were just magical. Is that a new purchase?
I had to laugh when you mentioned the gannets fancying your lure. I’ve never had much luck fishing but one of the first things I caught when dragging a lure was a seagull. Like flying a kite off the back of the boat. When the boat speed picked up one of its wings would fold under the stress and it would pirouette down and then fly back up when the speed decreased, the seagull repeated this several times until It finally let go or became unhooked. Poor thing ! Great videos. Keep up the good work.
I have sat and cried in back of the Emergency department. It's hard seeing all the people so sick, worrying about taking something home to my family. Stay safe pray for medical personnel.
From two former first responders and fire fighters, we are thinking and praying for all of you who are on the front lines! Our hearts are SOOO with you all and we have cried for you. We have an idea of what you are going through since we dealt with hurricane Katrina here in the south. But it was on SO much smaller a scale that what you are all dealing with now. Just know that there are MANY of us who have you all in OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS! May you ALL stay safe! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!! If there is something that any of you think that we can do to help, PLEASE let us know and we will try our best to make it happen!!!!! MUCH LOVE from LOUISIANA HERE!!!!!!!
Wow. Impressive footage. I always find swells behind the boat unnerving as they throw you around while you are typically looking forward. I could not imagine doing that for 4 hours on the tiller at night in Bass Straight. But the company of dolphins and eerie green glow must have been amazing.
It is a beautiful day, boat is working well and I breathe a grateful sigh to see this new episode available. The phosphorescence is a special thing to see. Saw it a few times long ago when I worked on a two man gill-netter fishing for sockeye salmon. Has to be experienced in person for full effect. Just amazing.
welcome back. Thanks for 30 min of sane. Please keep safe and keep your distance. People are still not taking the situation seriously. Had to run out to renew some medication. Passed a Walmart on my way and the parking lot was packed. I guess you also heard about the toilet paper capers😊. Stay healthy and see you on your next video.
Love the old boat but you guys deserve a boat that can carry every thing you need for life. Food stores, water maker, washer, shower,a nice fridge and freezer and a spare room or two.
Just to know you are safe and still enjoying sailing makes a whole bunch of us heave a sigh of relief. You two are a rare internet commodity, honest, funny, determined and extremely entertaining. Lockdown has shown the good side of many people. Keep safe.
One great thing about the virus lockdown, plenty of time to work on the boat. Grinding out stress cracks in the cockpit and re-glassing them. Stay safe, hope you find more Metho !!
Thanks for the post. I am super grateful to live-a-board my sloop as it is one of the few ways I can 'social distance' and enjoy what I love. I am happy to be exploring the Puget Sound here in North America/Canada but that footage of Tasmania was amazing! Oh, thanks for the tip on dragging the halyard while reefing, I will try this.
Great to see you both again, we've missed you. New FRS opening roll edit masterfully put together. Way to kick off your homecoming with a nice sailing sequence to Babel. Amazing two days, looking forward to the island visit. Thank you for keeping us socially connected while we physically distance during these changing times.
Thanks again. The vapour trails from the dolphins are as you described amazing, having sailed myself now since I started following you both 19,500 nautical miles across the oceans to NZ. Keep up with the great videos.
Have you considered using a solar shower? It's a 20 liter black bag you fill with water and hang up in the sun. Even on a mild day, the water is hot enough to shower in a few hours. At 2 lpm, that's a ten minute shower, longer if you turn it off while scrubbing.
Muy lindo video, la naveción fue lo más, me gustó que compartieran la razón de la decisión de volver cerca de sus seres queridos. un abrazo grande desde Argentina
I follow several sailing channels and your channel is the best by far... I can hardly wait until you have 100k subscribers. It is not a question of "if", but more a question of when. Stay safe.
Doing well here. The music industry in the states has been hit hard economically and with the loss of many older artists that I grew up listening, many from the virus but some due to other causes. Many talented souls have left us.
Troy's sailing skills are top notch, I'd trust him anyday. Pascale... you're the most beautiful Firstmate I've seen! I want to be where you are!! Great video guys, thanks so much for sharing! Be safe, take care and stay healthy! Ready to put this virus scare behind us !!
I am incredibly relieved to hear from you and that you're safe and healthy. The closest thing to difficulty I'm having is now that the weather is warming getting matterial is difficult. Minor, very minor. Already had the virus as did the rest of the family and we've all recovered. Made some of your bacon recipe while you were offshore, disappeared fast!
Ah Pascale, I really feel for you when you look just a tiny little bit outside your comfort zone, although I'm sure you're in good hands. Thanks for your videos guys, in these times it's good to have a distraction.
I was thrilled to see your post. Hope you guys are safe and secure. Pascale's smiles and giddiness while surfing the swells was a delight. In my 60's now and beached (well I do sneak out for some day sails). Seeing you folks warms the heart.
Setting the bar high, as usual ... you two rock! Welcome back, guys. No sailing allowed in U.K. right now, but doing our bit to save other humans. 👍🏼✊🏽
Ocean sunsets, your sincerity, and Pascal’s laugh - just what I needed to unexpectedly put a smile on my face today. Welcome back - stay safe, stay well.
Great video, as always, missed you all the way from Michigan, USA, just notified stay at home order extended to 30th. Happy you made it back safe, stay that way... Too every body who's out there everywhere!!!!
To everyone in the FRS Community our thoughts go out to you and your family during this difficult time. We hope you enjoyed our latest installment. Please take good care of each other. Troy and Pascale

Thank you both. You beautiful people - inside and out. xx
Just a lovely sail and a bit of night sailing safety instruction. Thanks guys ✨
Thanks for showing and talking about the Cape Barren geese. Love birds.
Pascals musical laughter lifts my spirit.
I rode every wave with you. The dolphins are magic. The albatross is a majestic bird. That’s a top yacht ya got there.
The journey is just as important as the destination, thanks for sharing it with us especially during these hard times of isolation , helps keep the spirits up for another adventure on the big blue
Absolutely!
Agree absolutely having the halyards at the mast. Keep it simple!
Well said Troy!! Humble minor celebrities the two of you are. One of the best sailing channels in my humble opinion.
Really enjoy watching your vids as I work away in the office. I always dreamed of buying a 30 Ft + sailboat and living your life, but my life got in the way. Great tip on that main halyard while reefing. Thank you both for all you do.

Here, here I think is the term. Couldn't agree more. This is professional class work. Not only that, but they have to sail a boat as well.
Completely agree. I'm sure editing the video is the last thing you want to do, and remembering to film things must be a drag, but it is so appreciated by your viewers. Those last shots with the drone were just magical. Is that a new purchase?
