- The story of Michael Blackburn's crossing of one of the most feared waterways on the planet in a 4.2m Olympic Laser sailing dinghy (2005).
They said he was crazy, but he raced across 200+kms of Bass Strait in 13 hours.
Filmed by West Ashton.
Bought the DVD and still admire the feat and all the work you do for aus sailing!
Amazing. Congratulations, and great camera work too.
This is just amazing I don’t understand how anyone could possibly be able to just keep going for so long and to be so calm at the same time
Practice and top fysical condition
I am amazed more people haven't seen this. Jolly well done. This is a fantastic well planned adventure.
Congratulations, what an epic journey and great achievement. Great team work with filming the whole thing as well.

Congratulations on an amazing achievement and great photography. Unfortunately I couldn't get the volume up high enough to hear.
So great!
I will try these adventures!
Massive effort & epic trip 🤘⛵️
WOW. I bet he was walkin funny for a while after this one..
That is 1 hell of a long port tack. All my respect for your challenge. Being a fellow Laser sailor I am very impressed. Well done

Amazing he didn't cramp up being on one tack for so long. I thought the 2 mile beat on port to the race course sailing out of Chicago Corinthian in a Northeaster was long...!
Fabulous!
Awesome!
I did the run from the south tip of Molokai to Diamond head in my Laser in the late 80's. Ok, I get it, what 30 miles, 75 degree water, but it was blowing 25 plus and the channel was pumping up some awesome monster waves. Awesome task mate, nice job, and great adventure..
Wow astonishing. 🇦🇺👍🍺🍺
Lets gooooo!!!!
Amazing! I’m about to Wing Foil across Bass Strait.
Hey Andrew, I just heard about that today, hope it goes great!
@@Blackers64 Thanks Michael. Doing on a Laser is so impressive. Especially in one hit!
