They are already in the game just don’t produce thrust. You can take the fan blades from the fans in the warehouse. They just haven’t added thrust to them yet. At least I think that’s what’s they said.

As your trying to go forward, you push the weight back a bit, and as you try and go back, you push the weight forward a bit... The weights always settle center balanced when not moving forward or back... The weight should be on the bottom to keep the ship upright. Glitches are cheating :-P
And if he made sure the point of rotation is relatively centered vertically on the craft! With it being hinged near the top, the thrust vector is misaligned with his CoG causing the tilt.

Nigel why? I can explain how this would work if you want. By rotating at the exhaust the point at where the thrust comes out won’t move so then it won’t tilt because the thrust will always be below the center of gravity.
you could use logic to pulse the thrusters (4 thrusters) and a gyro to correct by changing the independent thruster pulsing and increase the pulse to go up and decrease to go down! that wold work and only use 5 thrusters (1 to go forwards), and maybe less fuel for pulsing not straight power.
It’s not a terrible flyer in terms of available resources and limited use thrusters and various other blocks and mechanics in survival mode but I agree, it needs manual pitch.

Too heavy. Thrusters drink fuel like a ground to orbit rocket rather than acting like a classic aviation jet or turbine engine. It would get 100m and run out of juice.

Pretty sure you can use bearings and wheels as a reaction wheel system - wheel does clockwise, craft goes counterclockwise. 6 buttons for +/- yaw,pitch,roll, one thruster for up, one for forward
I learned a neat trick, if you have a coffee cup or some other trash item in your inventory then starve at your base, dont pick up your loot, it wont despawn and you'll have a marker to follow.
Yup, totally agree with you about suspension glitch. I think suspension glitch is too OP, so I try to avoid using it. I think it's very good flyer and I learn a lot from it. A lot of my creation inspired by your videos.
you can also try to use reactionwheels for the quadcopter. Edit: you can also put a gunner seat on the bottom of the quadcopter and have an aerial boskiller. For a (Semi) hovering flyer you have to have 3 (or 4) logic gates in a loop system with te output to an or gate, connect the thruster and a button to your or gate. if you turn the loop on the thruster will pulse, wich is something like half throttle. If you press the button in the or gate, the thruster is permanatly on and the flyer will go up. You will also have to balance the weight in order to make the flyer hover when the thrusters are pulsating, so dont have to turn on and off a switch all the time.
The way i built a flying explorer uses two thrusters as well, but one of them is pointing down, another points back. The 'lift' thruster is offset to tilt the craft back some while the 'propulsion' thruster tilts it slightly forward. Both are on buttons instead of switches so by altering the two it is fairly simple to lift off and fly around. I did use suspension glitch for steering, though i think a reaction wheel will work just as well, all be it with a more complex control system.
Wrong, the weight will be equally divided among the 4 thrusters meaning that yes it will have more power but not necessarily less fuel consumption considering you have half the weight for each thruster to pull, but it takes 2x the amount of fuel, it really only affects controllability and power, it’s also a huge sink for component kits as well.

there needs to be air resistance so then you can make a proper quadcopter with fans, also there needs to be water resistance in scrap mechanic so you can also make boats with propellers
What if you mounted the thrusters with the baring closer to the outlet of the thruster that way the pivot point is inline with the center of thrust even when the barings turn. If you want a photo I can try and send one over the discord for a concept design, but it's not complicated 👍👍
i made a 4 thruster flyer but it was heavy and complicated, it worked great but it sucked so much fuel that I got sick of doing oil runs every time i wanted to use it. Back to a 2 thruster flyer with 2 infinite stabilisers, fuel tank and no chest, inventory is big enough for a good size loot run.
You should make a piston contraption that shifts a very sense block forward and backward to control pitch. If a piston is on a high speed it won't have a problem with response time
You probably could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by placing the thrusters up high, so that your center of mass is below them. Then it will self-stabalize via gravity, wanting to stay upright in flight. Similarly to hanging a weight under a boat hull to keep it stable.
possibly it could work differntly for a 2 point flyer and also scrap physics but for drones and rocketrs irl anyways that is just a myth, for a object relient only on boyancy like a boat it works, but whit trust its a diffrent issue
I Workd on the Same Projekt, best way to get rid of the Roll is countermass and the stabiliser in the Front and Back and the Turbineforce in the Centermass (no Switch, Turbine in full Power and w to Power)

Kan something you could do is put a third thruster on the front to counter act the auto pitching as well as saving resources for a tricopter instead of a quadcopter
I have a quadcopter in creative with roll, pitch, and yaw using logic to toggle different thrusters on/off with button controls, but it can get pretty difficult to control.
One suggestion : how about you make it a black muscle car powered by pistons and make it a car that transforms into a flying thruster powered hower car and even put mountable spudling guns that can pop out of the hood of the car in the push of a button and put a bed hidden in the back of the car . And thrusters will fold out of the car from the wheels in flight mode so that when you get attacked by stupid farm bots you can escape from them and attack them . And if you want you can even put a use less level 1 engine on the hood .
kan you need 115 component kits to get the thrusters because it takes ten to make a thruster and 50 to make it max please take this advice and if i am wrong please tell me
i did a flyer with 4 engines and it doesn`t seem so bad on fuel cos you don`t need to be on the power all the time, you can glide a lot. i feel that scrap mech engine forces the use of suspension glitches especially when they have such a hard grinding regime, oh and i used a suspension turning glitch and that saves on turning fuel wastage.
When he was testing the flyer all I could think of was the first iron man. When Tony was testing the boots for mark 2.

I think your flyer won't tip during vectoring if the thrusters point of rotation was at the exhaust instead of at the top.

With level-5 "driver's seat" you can change bearings rotation degrees and speed, for control thruster's rotation (turning left-right on the fly)/

You should make this a virus crashed ship and turn it into a flying machine
the attachment point for the thrusters are too high which is causing it to lean forward when flying in the forward position
Maybe something like a potenciometer? And a flying machine that lets you pitch,roll and steer all in one

There’s only 4 upgrades between 1 and 5, so it’s only 40 to upgrade.

I made one with 20... It was chaos... Least to say...
When ur done completely with the flyer make a boat that takes ur vehicle across the water
