    God if I only had videos like this when I started playing 41 years ago LOL but I did have some of the greatest guitar teachers ever Glenn Tipton, KK downing, Ted nugent, Tony iommi the list goes on and on and on. But we had cassette tapes or you could stop it and rewind it and all that good junk. Awesome video Rob I enjoyed it sir.

      It's like in the movie Stepbrothers, where they're messing around with Samurai swords or something, and somebody says, "Man, imagine if we had these when we were kids!" And then the other guy says, "Even better... we have them NOW as grownups!" 🤘🤣

    Thank you for another great guitar learn Rob and thank you for doing this video in Standard E tuning. Yes power chords can be lots of fun and very easy to remember. Didn't you once say that playing two strings together is like playing a power chord Rob ? For whom the bell tolls learned me how to use power chords better and also I found it easy to learn to play creeping death after that. Enter sandman wasn't that easy when I first tried to play it, but I did manage to learn it in the end. Plus with standard E tuning as some know is how to learn to play kill em' all.

      @RobArnoldWorld  11 місяців тому +2

      Right on Darren! I'm not exactly sure what you mean with your question, but when you're in a drop tuning, like drop D or Drop C, playing the 6th and 5th string together open, creates a power chord!

    great video my technique is to work with power chords but by ear and once as close as possible to the music or the riff to be sure I'm going to see the tablature after having stopped playing the guitar 15 years and ba in 1 year I have a better level than before and those thanks to your videos and those of other UA-camrs

    Hey Rob would you have any tips on preventing fret hand cramping on power chord heavy songs? I've been playing for about 6 years and it still can be an issue for me.

    • @RobArnoldWorld
      @RobArnoldWorld  11 місяців тому +2

      It's still an issue for me too man! Honestly in my experience, the only way to get past that is through simply building stamina. When I was out on the road, playing all day and performing every night, my hands, wrists, and forearms were locked the F in. Maybe not for the first few gigs of the tour, but a couple weeks in, I could go on autopilot and think nothing of it.
      Anyway, nowadays, I definitely feel the burn, and tire far more easily. And I attribute that to simply playing far less, and far less consistently. 🎸

    Hey Rob I'm really stuck and I'm kinda freaking out a bit. I've been playing just over a year I can play powerchords barre chords. I've posted on reddit asking if someone can create a couple random drop d riffs in 150 BPM to mess with as an example and I haven't had any luck. I've been trying everyday to get that riff that fits and I just can't get it right now. My goal is to make a metalcore song with a whole music video but I'm really falling behind that's why I'm freaking out. You're one of the best guitarists if not the best I've ever seen. What advice do you have and are there sites where you can actually ask guitarists to write riffs for you and buy them? I'm really new to how all this works.

    • @RobArnoldWorld
      @RobArnoldWorld  11 місяців тому

      Hey dude... happy to hear you're setting some goals for yourself and want to follow thru! Are you saying you'd like some riffs to replicate, or to use as is in your productions?

    • @redmothic43
      @redmothic43 11 місяців тому

      @@RobArnoldWorld I want a riff or to start a band that I can make songs with as I'm not really pro at guitar. I'm very new to this

    • @RobArnoldWorld
      @RobArnoldWorld  11 місяців тому

      Well man, I'd say the only way to make that happen, is to set your sights on making it happen. Only hard work and persistence will get you there. It may be a slippery slope, but where there's a will, there's a way! The hardest part is simply getting started, and staying committed. You've got this bro!🎸@@redmothic43
