One thing that hit me the hardest is that so many people live like this, thinking about tomorrow, always always waiting for that one thing, and that's why they're unhappy, bcs for most of us there is no grand purpose, the purpose of life is just to live. Life is about the little things, and the people in it, that make it all worth it. Like Ging (HxH) said "enjoy the little detours, because that's where you will find that which is more important than what you want."
Sorry, I meant to say two things: thank you for referencing one of the best anime I’ve seen in ages. And two yes, I had the same realization not too long ago. Life isn’t about big moments, it’s the little detours that get you to wherever you’re headed next.
@@ProQuo360 HxH is my favorite anime! Exactly!! I completely agree, it is in the nature of humanity to never stop wanting, it's what pushes us forward, but at the same time, it's what makes us so unhappy. We're always wanting for something, something more, something better. We have to learn to appreciate the little things and the journey more than the big goal, to achieve happiness.
Just wanted to say, my 9 year old Sister loved this movie. Even if she didn't get every reference, the message is clear to everyone. Saying this can't be a "Kids Movie" is a disservice to kids imo
There's no sentence I detest more than an adult saying "This is not for kids" while watching something that was definitely made for kids, simply because they're enjoying it so much.
@@Xackadee This was made for everyone. There are references that kids simply won't get, but they will still be able to understand the overarching theme.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 It was made for kids. The fact that everyone can enjoy it doesn't change that. The fact that there are topics and gags that adults are more likely to get doesn't change that. This is a kids movie. Just accept that and enjoy it anyway.
"I don't know if a kid would be able to handle this" Which is why Disney/Pixar don't make most things strictly for kids. Like Walt Disney said: "You're dead if you aim strictly for children."
I'm 12, and I watched this with my 10 and 9-year-old brothers. We do everything together which includes watching movies, they handled it surprisingly well, and honestly were blown away by the message of the movie, it's a great movie with a great message. They understood everything and loved it! This movie is just, stunning! The animation to the script etc.
I thought the ending was very beautiful, he gave away his life to save another, and so he was rewarded a second chance. makes you consider what would be the perks of saving a life yourself.
I realized about the scene when it showed the spinning leaf. When it's mature and is able to live and grow into a tree, it falls down, like how Joe says the 'spark' is only available if the soul is ready to live.
The message and the spiritualism in this movie hit me so hard and I’ve never agreed with, cried bc of, and related to a movie more 😭😭😭 Also fun fact: the lady who played terry was moana’s grandmother

It was an awesome movie!! So glad you all reacted to it! Also really nerded out when I found Wes Studi was in this movie!! That guy is awesome! I love how they highlighted the moment when you become obsessed with something it could hurt you spiritually. And how when you appreciate what you have around you. Even just breathing. Practice appreciating all around you and then you can help others see what you see.
They won't care they will just enjoy it over and over and over and over again till it gets donated when they grow out of it. Then more kids will enjoy it over and over etc. this is what's great about kids films they live on.
I just love how they pan out each time to something bigger to show how truly small we all are. That part made me cry so damn hard. This movie is unreal
I watched this movie before I made a decision to dropped out of college this spring semester so I can focus on my mental health. Even if I don’t know my future right now, all I know is that every little moment in my life right now impacts as much as the big accomplishments in my life. Thank you God for those moments. :)
I think of the lost souls as a part of being in the zone but when you become so obsessed with that one thing you become untouched with life and passion turns unto obsessions thats why i think joe was a lost soul before the movie
this movie is literally The Good Place, the jerrys are the janets, 22 is eleanor, the way that all of heaven, and the afterlife etc is administrated like an office
Disney/Pixar consistently proves that multi-layered stories can be enjoyed by kids and adults on different levels... and, perhaps, even more-so over time.

Coco, Inside Out, and Soul marked the high water mark for Pixar when they had an amazing 5 years in the 2010s. They had been in a 6 year drought before then, and we've been in a 3 year drought since then...

"Soul" really spoke to me on a very, very personal and spiritual level. I myself is a struggling musician, it was always been a dream of mine, to perform in front of an audience, to please and make people happy. Because I think music is something that brings us together. I really feel like I was in Joe's shoes, because I didn't wanna have a life that amounted to nothing. I don't want to be "regular" I refuse to live a life doing something I am not happy with. But then, there are times when I wasn't satisfied with the things I wanted. You come to enjoy them for a bit but when you're done... that's it. "Soul" really changed my view of life.

22: “But Joe, you can’t”
Joe: “Then I’ll go as far as I can”

One thing that hit me the hardest is that so many people live like this, thinking about tomorrow, always always waiting for that one thing, and that's why they're unhappy, bcs for most of us there is no grand purpose, the purpose of life is just to live.
Life is about the little things, and the people in it, that make it all worth it.
Like Ging (HxH) said "enjoy the little detours, because that's where you will find that which is more important than what you want."
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Little known fact: They didn't show the movie title until the very end because that was Joe's beginning.
Just wanted to say, my 9 year old Sister loved this movie. Even if she didn't get every reference, the message is clear to everyone. Saying this can't be a "Kids Movie" is a disservice to kids imo
Rightt, above 12,13 yo kids will understand it perfectly, im 15 and i cried and kinda felt identified, sure under 10 yo kids can enjoy it too
It’s something they almost always say in their reactions, but I see where you’re coming from
There's no sentence I detest more than an adult saying "This is not for kids" while watching something that was definitely made for kids, simply because they're enjoying it so much.
The fact that the subject matter is deep and mature doesn't change that. It's a kid-friendly film, designed to appeal to kids, rated to be appropriate for kids and full of content for kids to enjoy.
This is a kids movie. Just accept that and enjoy it anyway.
"I don't know if a kid would be able to handle this" Which is why Disney/Pixar don't make most things strictly for kids. Like Walt Disney said: "You're dead if you aim strictly for children."
"Adults are just kids grown up anyway."
The hair animations are crazy good in this movie
I thought the ending was very beautiful, he gave away his life to save another, and so he was rewarded a second chance. makes you consider what would be the perks of saving a life yourself.
One of the we be you earned your spot in Heaven.
Coco needs to be your next reaction. I can't believe you guys haven't seen that yet.
I wish there was an after credits scene when he’s older and she walks in as a student in his music class.
Yea or met in a pizza place lol
YES
naah its not needed
Ehh it wouldn't really make much sense because its not like she'll remember
they originally planned that ending where they meet up... but ultimately decided on an open-ended conclusion, which I prefer more...
I like how the title wasn't shown until the end, marking the "start" of Joe's story/life.
That's so cool, I wish I'd noticed it when I first watched it Christmas evening.
I realized about the scene when it showed the spinning leaf. When it's mature and is able to live and grow into a tree, it falls down, like how Joe says the 'spark' is only available if the soul is ready to live.
My favorite part is when Jerry distracts Terry at the end when the count is off. Glad they found it funny too.
The message and the spiritualism in this movie hit me so hard and I’ve never agreed with, cried bc of, and related to a movie more 😭😭😭
Also fun fact: the lady who played terry was moana’s grandmother
Watched this on Christmas day with my family. Was not expecting this to hit me as hard as it did. The whole sequence of Joe remembering his life, and the music carries the scene. Pure beauty. And what a beautiful meaning ❤ I like to see it made you ad emotional as me.
This movie's message is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen
Just watched this movie today! What a beautiful story with an amazing message! I just graduated college last spring & working full time now, but was still trying to figure out my purpose.. I definitely needed to see this film. ❤️ Great reaction!
This story was a lesson on the importance of gratitude.
9:45 that's actually such a good catch about Jesus lmao never even gave that line a second thought.
"I dont know if a kid would be able to handle it"
They will and kids always have
Seriously. If they can handle Mufasa's dead body, they can handle a metaphorical Soul World and a vague concept of The Great Beyond.
They won't care they will just enjoy it over and over and over and over again
till it gets donated when they grow out of it. Then more kids will enjoy it
over and over etc. this is what's great about kids films they live on.
Fun fact: the actor who voiced terry also voiced the grandmother in moana
It's the cozy 4! , I was not expecting that they would react to Soul! Thank you!!!
Normies: Watch Soul
Me: (Palpatine voice)“A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.”
Yes the cozy 4 reacting to Soul. Glad I didn't go to sleep
Soul Brothhhaaaaa
I think of the lost souls as a part of being in the zone but when you become so obsessed with that one thing you become untouched with life and passion turns unto obsessions thats why i think joe was a lost soul before the movie
You all need to react to Coco next. It's a travesty none of you have seen it yet.
i feel like rana really believes she had an out-of-body experience
Jon Batiste does not get enough credit for how CRAZY he played and composed some of the music for this movie
I love this groups reactions, like specifically these people
Oh gosh I love that you guys reacted to this. I felt this movie SO HARD.
This movie surprised me on how great it was. Great message, great visuals, great story. I really hope they make a sequel or something.
Nope doesn’t need a sequel Soul is a perfect movie on its own.
every time.. i cry everytime i watch the last part of the movie. So beautiful yet simple
Well this is a welcome surprise to my Saturday
Instantly became my favorite Pixar movie when I watched it
I need it in my collection
So at 10:39 Rana grabs something off Suraj's face and eats it... thank you editor for that gem! 🤣🤣🤣
this movie is literally The Good Place, the jerrys are the janets, 22 is eleanor, the way that all of heaven, and the afterlife etc is administrated like an office
Suraj so engrossed in film, tries to close prosecco bottle using orange juice lid 😂
_Soul_ was truly a Disney Christmas gift at the end of a diabolical year.
*Every moment was mesmerizing, entertaining and thought provoking.*
Disney/Pixar consistently proves that multi-layered stories can be enjoyed by kids and adults on different levels... and, perhaps, even more-so over time.
This was a great reaction and commentary, It made me want to rewatch Soul all over again
I sobbed watching a chopped up reaction...this movie would wreck me if I saw the full thing lol
Two things
1. How fucking high was Rana in this video?!.
2. The editing to get as much of the movie in as possible was phenomenal
Rewatching the first scene, as a New York City public school student, I'm struck by how much detail they put in. Even the way the sound of his voice sounds exactly like one of those basement rooms. I'm simply amazed.
I went into this movie thinking it would be so-so at best...then it punched me right in my heart and made me ball 😭.
So glad to see this!! Really enjoyed your reaction/discussion as always💕
From outside it might look like you're just looking at tv. But from your own pov youre experiencing art.
I just finished watching this and immediately came here to see y’all react.
This movie...man I don’t know how to describe it. I’m someone that’s felt...just horrible for the last five years. Almost like I was dead. Just so anxious, and sad, and not worth it.
I can’t exactly explain what it was about Soul but I think this is the first time in a long time that I’m smiling and meaning it. I feel like I’m taking my first breath of air after years of being underwater. I can’t stop smiling and feeling and just living right now.
Thanks for the reaction as always yall. :)
Believe it or not, but I don't remember crying in the last 3 years, at least. But I did shed a tear or two while watching this, and it felt nice. It definitely had me thinking more, and had me appreciating everything I have.
This was one of the best animations I've watched recently
I love your profile picture!
@@sophiefredrickson9370 thank u ☺️☺️ i love both Got and 100 mutually
New subscriber! I really like the dynamic you all have. The two on the end are the observant and more quiet ones who give the more in depth reviews at the end while the two in the middle are the chatty ones who keep us interested and entertained.
The last line of the movie is so inspiring
We appreciate you guys!! I hope that if any of you ever feel down, you just come and look at these comments and remember that this channel is some peoples saving grace and personally when I’m feeling down I like to watch you guys to cheer me up which I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking
I like the ending where you don't know what he's going to do because that isn't what matters. It's his choice to live and fully embrace life, both the good and the bad, that's important
Glad you guys did this reaction, I loved it
Love it! Y’all’s reactions get me through life!
Y’all should definitely do this more often, I really enjoyed watching this with y’all. Definitely more Pixar’s movies are in order here!!☺️☺️
The Knicks joke might've been one of the funniest Pixar jokes ever
Coco, Inside Out, and Soul marked the high water mark for Pixar when they had an amazing 5 years in the 2010s. They had been in a 6 year drought before then, and we've been in a 3 year drought since then...
The last Pixar movie released was an original: Onward
Um this is an original too
@@GabesEdtiz I was referring to when they said this is the the first original in 5 years
@@GabesEdtiz and that’s kinda obvious
@@kerwincastillo3168 ohhh ok
@@kerwincastillo3168 sorry got mixed up
I have a feeling that the more I watch this one, the deeper it will resonate with me.
Little did everyone know that terry was on their glass of wine the whole time 39:29
That final line hit me so HARD, it hit my soul
Finally one time they say “that’s death” and it actually was lol 😂
Part when 22 became lost soul and everything that was going on inside of her just crushed me when I was watching Soul at the cinema. I was sad and terrifying at the same time. It hit me hard....
You guys should definitely react to the show “The Good Place”...tackles morality in a light hearted way but also thought-provoking
Yeah, I clicked on this for the discussion because I already knew how great the movie is. You guys are awesome.
42:27 you’d be surprised! Some people always find SOMETHING to be angry at if they feel that something threatens their beliefs or values
