It's crazy how many people are out there now. Back in my days, 30 years ago, there used to be nobody out there most of the time.

We've noticed that also over the last 5 years or so. Really wish I could have visited 30 years ago! We really enjoy the solitude out in the desert. Still glad that Death Valley has so many dirt roads and prospect trails to explore as most visitors never leave the pavement 🤠

30 years ago they were 10 or so tea kettles at tea, kettle Junction, now everybody discovered four-wheel-drive, there are so many tea kettles there's hardly room to nail yours up

SoCal is seeing a lot of flooding now. Is this water being retained somewhere or is it being diverted to the ocean. Appreciate your comments on that.

California got hit hard just like Nevada last few days! Seeing reports just this morning that some of that flooding in California was deadly. Unfortunately there is no new containment built since this happened last spring, just as we covered last year. The standard operating procedure is to pre-emptively release water in anticipation of the flooding. Earlier in the week water managers did just that. I watched some videos of the releases there, here is one from Oroville last week if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/P5aWP31r9Vs/v-deo.html
Since there is no new storage, they are going on "best predictions" as to how much rain will come and how much water to release. Of course come summer, water managers will most likely be talking about the lack of water needed for the hot months. There is no meaningful action on Sites Reservoir yet this year either. It really makes no sense. Groundhog day!

the us goverement is using HAARP the weather weapon, and you can say i am going tinfoil hat but look at all the things that happen every year... rather than every 4 or 5 years,

it's the same old California corruption and mismanagement, bonds were issued decades ago to improve the water supply but they're too lazy and corrupt to even dig a hole in the ground. It hasn't stopped them from wasting $13 billion on a train to nowhere in the San Joaquin Valley however.

Dialog would be helpful for those of us who have zero idea what is going on.
