In crop flood irrigation system underground sometimes we get a "waterhammer" when someone opens the gates to much. Caused by a air bubble bouncing around in the pipeline. Blew the stacks off three vents and ruptured the line... Cost was enormous$$$$. I amagen your facing the same type of problem just on a much greater scale than we ... My advice; Limit the flow. Never go full boar. Check ✔️ for sinkholes, that could cause catastrophic failure of the Dam.... They have like ultrasound devices that scoot across the surface like a lawnmower. Cuz Florida gets alot of sinkholes there used quite a bit there.

One thing I find destressing is, with the water levels so low, why can't something be organized to clean the trash boats and other junk off the park grounds? Instead, everyone just keeps videotaping the trash. As I live too far away to assist in such endeavors, I'll just have to keep watching.

Awesome video and info as always... I know this is a simplistic observation just release more water from Lake Powell toward Lake Mead. Prioritizing one over the other doesn't make sense when Powell made decent water level gains this summer.

I don't appreciate talking to a 'site'...what is your name? Good information, especially the fact that Lake Mead is the deadliest park service. Amazing. Why? I live in Pasadena, CA., and have owned 5 boats for many years. I found that, after boating in numerous lakes and in the ocean, Lake Mead was and always will be our "favorite". We made Lake Mead our #1 lake in 1982 and planned our vacation plans to go there until 2010 when we sold our last boat (yes, the lake water levels were plenty when we haunted Lake Mead!). I am very sad to hear that there are that many deaths so far in just this year; seems unreal to me as we have never....and I mean never been threatened in any way on or around the Lake. I guess boating restrictions about preparedness and schooling must be exercised further and more stricter. I continue to believe in boating and Lake Mead and follow its fill partners from up north...Glen Canyon and Lake Powell. Sorry to blather, but boating, lakes, water conservation, etc. are one of my main followings...and, of course, your excellent channel,. Thanks for all your efforts and support! Much appreciated!

An ideal situation would be to dam the Colorado down the river to backup water to the foot of Glen Canyon dam, getting rid of all the loss of sediment below the dam down to lake Mead. As Glen Canyon filled with silt then the river could still supply water to the SW.
