I'm glad you held up that buttercup with a geranium and your viewers must check and double check; enthusiastic weeding can hurt - I weeded my geranium.

Love Mr. Lord's garden. Being in Quebec the winter limits what we can plant in the garden. Love his approach, very animated! His shady garden makes me jealous...

Great videos. You're my kind of gardener. Always got your hands in it. The camera person has a job keeping up with you.

I spent years pulling that geranium and just learned that it was a geranium! I also have the buttercups, ugh! Since just finding your vids I ordered Ann Folkard and Anne Thompson. Found only one place on the net in US selling them and all the way across the country in California. I expect them today or tomorrow, so excited! Thank you for teaching me about them!

“Ivy always win because it plays the long game” SO TRUE!!! I live in Oregon and it’s against the law to sell it, definitely hard to get rid of

I’ll be in England/Whales in May. And I’m going to every (*&#!!) garden I can find. Beautiful islands...

At 5:16 behind your hand is a perennial with black red leaves and white spire flowers. Looks like of like an astilbe. What is it please? I like it a lot and hope it can take the heat of the deep south, whatever it is. Thanks.

At 9:56 what is the tall perennial with blue flowers over your shoulder?

Mr Lord, what is the plant behind you at :36 growing on next to the conifer tree. It is white and green with only about 4 stalks around a foot tall. Reminds me of a euphorbia or mini palm shape but I am not expert. Its up against the conifer on the left side not the one you were going to trim up the bottom leaves. Thank you!

In the USA , I live in zone 5. What zone is your address?
My backyard is very shady, but I don't want to get excited about the plants that were being discussed until I find out what zone you garden in.
    Thanks

Patricia... as best I can figure John is in US zone 9 with an average low temp of 20 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. I do not believe that Ireland's average summer temperature reach US 9 because Ireland's winter temperatures and summer temperatures are moderated by the Gulf Stream so I am sure their summer temperatures do not match US zone 9. Do not be disheartened as many of the plants in his garden grow in mine and I am 6B. My advice is if you see something that you like , google the biologic name which John so thoughtfully lists and ascertain if it will do well in your zone. Good luck with your garden. Maria

Another way to tell the difference between the buttercup and the G. macrorrhizum is that it smells...not a very good scent in my opinion.
