Absolutely! Soke Little John has always been the real deal - blazing speed, surgical precision and let me tell you he hits like a truck. I had the honor of training under him for a short time as a teenager, and watching him train was absolutely hypnotic - he’s like a machine.
Ignorant people who think a 2-man kata is a real fight don't understand purpose of a kata. These men not only understand every move, but they understand the application. Even more impressive, they are so aware of each application they, very quickly, can remember a series of these moves in concert with a partner. Also, the stamina it takes just to do this short kata says how strong and physical condition they are. Kudos, gentlemen.
Soke Lil John Much Respect and Love for you sir. GM Ronald Duncan(Rest in Power) took me to MSG when you fought Oso Tayari Casel. May the Creator continue to bless you.
Those movements look pretty crisp and nice but it was very choreographed and it was real speed but the way he was moving I'm never going to believe when anybody says he blocked Bruce Lee Bruce Lee's weight faster than that he makes a guy look like he's standing still nice movements though I won't front on that
Katas and these types of martial arts are good for choreography in films and demonstrations, which is not a bad thing.I fucks with choreographed fighting. On the flip side, this style/training/katas wouldn’t work on trained (MMA) fighters.
@@briancottingham1674 Your statement just shows the sheer ignorance of todays generation. "Little" John Davis was a multi champion FULL CONTACT karate fighter in the 70's and was featured in a famous fight with Kung Fu expert Oso Tayari Casel (another multi-champion full contact fighter of the 70s) that was in Madison Square garden to over 19,000 spectators and broadcasted over the Wide World of Sports show in 1975 This was almost a full 20 years before the first UFC came out and even longer before "MMA" was even a thing. THEY DID IT DECADES BEFORE! So maybe get your facts straight and your head out of your you know what.
Everything is modified to fit the environment and situation at hand. A punch is a punch. Just depends on how you apply it. Several MMA champions have come from traditional backgrounds. They did just fine.
Larhann Stuckey that’s my point. It’s great for the street. But, if you put gloves on them and put them in the ring with a MMA trainer fighter it’s a wrap and you know it. Look for truth and not loyalists to a particular style
That was both power and beautiful at the same time... Something you just don’t see enough of anymore! OSU!
Exactly!

Of COURSE the moves are choreographed... It's a two-person kata, not a sparring match.

Great for self-defense. Won’t hold up in the ring Vs a MMA trainer fighter

diane centeno not meant as an insult. But, it must be put in proper context.
