In your opinion is this gun good for a new shooter
Is it easy to load
I used the tisas zizagana mag and I hated iam older guy and it was harder to load
I bought 2 of these when they were ridiculously underpriced end of last year. Honestly difficult to explain the exceptional value for the $ spent. I have Sigs, Glocks, Caniks, Shadow Systems, etc. THIS is a great gun!
I agree!!
I got one.. love it did not feel no recoil at all light feeling love it..I'm going to get the one with the chrome top
I had already purchased my BRG 9 ELITE before seeing this review and I must say that I am entirely happy with my purchase !! This is a great pistol for a great price!!!
Great review! I recently purchased the PX-9 gen 2 and love it! Thanks to both of you for the awesome educational reviews!
I have to keep telling myself "you already have all the guns you need. Don't spend the money!"
Same here. 😂🤣
The struggle is real.
I lectured someone last night on standardizing on one magazine for every 9mm in your setup.
I have sold S&Ws, Sigs, CZs and HKs to try to standardize on the most Universal (G) mags. [I still have Sigs & CZs, but I trimmed it down A BUNCH). And now y'all show me this. Dammit
@@Swampytheroot thats lame though . My go to are my caniks but i like to shoot my smith, walther, jericho excetra. Shame to deprive yourself of so many fun different firearms
Yep, but it was $190 shipped. Sometimes you just can't pass up a great deal.
I was so glad to see you wait to clear a lite primer or wherever. Usually wait 30 seconds to a minute. Just to make sure. I've see videos of people pulling them right out and holding them. Slow burning primer or whatever. They can still go off. Good job.
Thanks for the video. Good to see everyone back.
Thanks for the great review. I think you are the best reviewers about handguns. I really enjoy your educational videos👍👍
i like the way yall did the review. seems super honest and fair. i like the dinner part. ill sub.
Thank you and welcome to the channel. We've reviewed hundreds of guns with this format.
As always just another great review
Thank you sir
Just purchased this gun yesterday, thanks for a perfect review
Thanks
I like painting my targets blue. Contrasts very well with all sights and really pops out in the snow
ZQi is the ammo. Bought 2 boxes, felt a burr, used thumb to knock it off(couple were half ring) 4 of 50 in one box, 7 of 50 in the 2nd. All fired no problem.
I purchased my BRG9 Elite when most people has never herd of Buffalo Cartige Co. All black finish $199.95. Since it's more noun now. Your lucky to find it for $240. It has over 300R through it so far. With no problems
Really enjoy your videos, thanks! 👍
Glad to hear it!
Graham really enjoy these videos and welcome back Teya. We missed the smell reports and also good to have some eye candy for the men not just for the ladies with Graham. LOL Both of you keep up the great job.
Thank you!
Alien gear holsters produce and have in stock a good variety of holster options for the BRG9 Elite by BRG-USA
Thanks! Another pistol my left brain 🧠 tells me I need, and my right brain says, "Hold on now, we have too many 9mm with different magazines already."
Just ordered one to be let them sort it out.
Great review.
I have shot the BRG with XD mags and they worked from my experience.
glad your back teya.
Thank you!
*ZERO* idea how I missed this range review, but well done per usual! That spinner had your number on this one 😅
We put out a lot of content, essentially 52 guns reviewed per year! We forgive you, and thanks for catching up!
@@GBGuns Well thanks, and I've been around your channel for a few years, so I do my best to catch every video! So keep 'em a comin'!!
Thanks!
Thank you
New to your channel. Enjoyed watching. Great review! Seems like a very well made gun at a very affordable price.
Thank you and welcome to the channel. If you enjoyed this format you'll be happy to know that this the the exact format we use with every gun; that way the gun speaks for itself, no specially-formulated videos to make one gun look better or worse than another, in fact quite the opposite. You can now fairly compare one against another. Additionally, most of our videos are part of articles with more information. Check for a pinned comment to read the article.
You two are such a cool couple. I enjoy your reviews.
Thank you!
Just got one for 250$ new on sale. Absolutely in love with it, perfect for a full size EDC ❤️ so nice for the price that I'm going tomorrow to get another one to hand down to my son in a few years 👍👍 even at the MSRP of 399$, I'd highly recommend 🔥🔥
where did you but it at for that price?
Got mine for $189. Sportsman outdoor
@@jjames9803 thanks
189.00=205.90 sportsmans outdoor
Got mine for $169 plus ship and ffl fee. So for $225 out the door, I can't complain. Not a better deal out there right now
I keep telling myself that you have all the guns you need. I am so tempted.....lol
The mags from my xd-9 service pistol work just fine on the brg-9 and vice versa.
Good gun ~ Glocky looking, shoots well. Good video
Doesn’t really look much like a Glock. Hardly at all
Welcome back Teya
Thank you!
I like that they didn't fixate on it having a grip safety. Personally I don't see it as an issue, it can even be a good idea, the 1911 has one and we know how that turned out (2 world wars, lol). I tend to think it is maybe a good idea, if something gets caught up on the trigger it may very well depress the safety blade, but if you're not gripping it, no bango.
I've only ever experienced one grip safety failure and that was on an XDm after several thousand rounds.
Gun day = Fun day 👍
I also had the same problem with the ZQI ammo, it locked up my mini firestorm 9mm.
Great review!!! Now I want to try one. Any advice on how to convince the wife to say go for it baby?
I traded my Walther PPS in for this gun because it had only a 7 round mag and was wondering if I made a mistake and glad I watched this video. I believe I made a good choice!
The PPS is available with a 7, 8, or 9-round magazine.
@@GBGuns yeah but 16 is better than 7,8 or 9 😉
Yes XD9 magazines work on the BRG9. I own both and the Springfield XD mags are better than the factory BRH mags.
I recently picked up this gun, but had quite a few fte's firing it right out of the box. That's something I will have to figure out. But after reading that XD9 (full size, 16 rounds) mags seem to work in it, I ordered 3 of them from Joe Bob's Outfitters for $10 each. They slide in perfectly, slide locks open on empty mag, but still have to get to the range with them. I think they will work just fine! :)
How would you compare this gun to the Tisas Zigana PX9 Gen3?
I have XD mags that work in my BRG9.
i have never changed the back strap on any gun i have bought that had that option. i have just always adapted to the way the gun comes out of the box. maybe it's something i should start doing.
It is the way
IVE NEVER FELT THE NEED, SHOOT AS SHIPPED.
Agreed
Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding
Love your channel.
How does the BRG compare to the Zigana px9 g2?
Compared to the PX9 Gen 2 the gun feels more solidly built and has a more defined trigger feel.
@@GBGuns Interesting, I just got a PX9 (partially based on your review) and found it to be solid with a pretty good trigger. But then again the BRG is a bit more expensive too.
Sir would you be kind enough to review the xd9
Here good question Stoeger STR-9 vs BRG9 witch one would you buy keep Gram?????
I have a weird question: Do the BRG USA BRG 9 magazines work in the Tisas Zigana F/K/T?
Getting close to the 100,000
Very close and without buying subs or selling out.
Now 1 less to go. 😜👍
The mags hold 17rds easily although they rate and mark them for 16rds. I just bought one of these for $179!!!!
It blows me away some of the questions asked! Teya thanks for finding the time for this really late review lmao 🤣 I’m helping you out Graham hehe. Does it feel different from the zigana px9?
Yes, this feels sturdier and has a more defined trigger than the PX9 Gen 2. The PX9 Gen 3 almost feel unrelated to the Gen 2
@@GBGuns thanks for the comparison. I have a zigana gen1 and it’s a good shooter, but this brg9 and this different metal had my interest. Is the back strap safety metal or polymer?
@@GBGuns The PX9 Gen 3 is one of the best triggers I have felt out of the box. I like the compatibility features of the PX9. Glock sights, Sig p226 mags and XD/XDM holsters.
@@rotadyma with you.
This looks like a pretty neat gun. I like the more "straight" trigger on these vs the curved ones on XD9s or older XD(M)s.
I think I heard someone else on another channel say that with the BRG9, you need to depress the grip safety in order to move the slide...is this correct?
I haventnoticed be absent I always have a form grip on the gun when I rack
I checked mine after reading your question and indeed you do. Like Graham, I had not noticed before.
100% correct
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeahr
Another excellent, extraordinary handgun assessment 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Say, GB, which one you prefer: Tisas PX9 Gen 3 Duty or the BRG 9? Do tell, please 😎
I get asked that question a lot. Hard to pick a favorite between the two. I think generally the BRG is a more pleasant shooter, but I enjoyed the PX9 Gen 3 trigger more
@@GBGuns well, bro, I bought the Tisas PX9 Gen 3 Duty after watching your video review. And it turned out an excellent quality handgun at an amazing price point. Now your reply got me thinking about the BRG 9... 😄
I just could not pass up the price of $189. From Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. Regardless of how many 9mm I have.
Dahlonega armory has it now for $167. Sportsman is sold out.
i just ordered mine for 189 from sportsmans yesterday
That ZQI failure and seemingly all nickel or brass plated steel cause the same failure in a number of my pistols. All that to the point where I just stopped buying multi metal designed ammo. It ends up with the worst of both worlds...the steel expands/contracts enough to offset any benefit of a slicker coating.
My Stoeger won't cycle Winchester steel case.
Buds is selling these for around $260.00ish right now.
i wish my wife could shoot like her, nice review thank you.
Can you shoot as good as Graham!
At least your wife does shoot, your Blessed to be in her life.
Semper Fidelis.
Do u like the BRG9 better than the FXS9 ???
2A is FREEDOM
If you have to pick one between brg9 vs tisas zigana px-9, which one will be your choice? Thanks in advance ☺️
did you get the answer ? looking at the same two
I picked up one of these a couple months ago at my LGS. Took it directly to the range to see how it would shoot, cold, straight out of the box. But I was very disappointed, had several fte's, sometimes more than one in just one mag! The case would hang up halfway out of the ejection port. I ran maybe 3 or 4 mags through until I got frustrated with those fte's, called it quits for the day. Should I lube it up (Ballistol), then try it again? Try to smooth out the rails a bit with my dremel? They seem just a little rough to me. Or was it maybe my grip, not tight enough? Thanks for your thoughts, long time subscriber here! One more thing, I picked up a couple Springfield XD (full size) mags, 16 capacity, since I heard they work in this gun. They go in perfectly, slide locks back on the empty mag, but have not shot with them yet. And say HI to Tia for me, I always enjoy her thoughts on these guns!
Without seeing it first hand my first thought is to use some lube (we like Lucas Oil), make sure you have a firm grip, and maybe seek some hotter ammo (more muzzle energy, you can use our chart as a guide www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/the-9mm-range-ammo-guide)
@@GBGuns Thank you for your reply. I just lubed it with Ballistol, will more concentrate on my grip next time, and will pick up maybe some 124 grain ammo, see what those changes do. I love your videos, say HI to Tia for me! :D
@@GBGuns So after lubing it, I took it to the range yesterday, and it ran flawlessly! Ran a couple XD9 mags through it, no problems at all, so obviously it functions fine with (full size) XD mags! Very accurate too, now I'm much happier with it! And thanks for replying to me!
Graham. I bought the BRG 9 today and was looking for extra mags and saw another video of a guy that used a XD9 mag in the BRG9. I was wondering why his fits and yours don't.
Maybe his are a different generation. I tried the XDM Elite mags from their competition model
My XD9 mags work just fine also.
Joe Bob's Outfitters has them for 12.95.
Whether magazine are compatible with the BRG 9
@@GBGuns XD-MATCH guns are just completely different than my original (and copied) XD9 guns, HS2000.
I have had lots of issues with ZQI before. I refuse to use it. From super hot to incorrect primer seating. Not cool.
I've seen other people saying the mod 2 XD9 mags do work with it, what sort of XD mag were you trying?
I believe they were from the XDm Elite
If you 2 had to pick only 1 between this and the Tisas Px9, which would you choose. Thanks Dennis.
BOUGHT 2 TISA, ONE M@P SHIELD, GLOCK 43X, TAURUS G3C LAST MONTH, ALSO GOT THIS ONE COMING THIS WEEK.
It was selling fir $189 few days ago online
i just ordered one yesterday for 189
You say the XD mags don't fit... Another channel said they did. Always curious about those kinds of discrepancies.
I tried some and they didn't fit.
Q: why does YT not allow video of backstrap changes?
A: UA-cam thinks that's "modifying the firearm" or "Gunsmithing". Laughable I know, but it's their house so we have to deal with their rules.
A little Glock'ish, H&K'ish with a little Springfield'ish. Next year BoobTuble will forbid you to pull the Trigger ! :>)
$179.99 Starting today 01/15/2023 at Fin Feather Fur Outfitters !!!
Its why I'm here lol
How much do you spend on Christmas and birthday presents for your dear folks. I bought a 9mm-2/12 rd mags, for my step son. I told him I had a gift, this was his Christmas and birthday presents for the rest of his life. Then I gave him the gun.
I read, and watched, the reviews on this weapon. I have bought several as gifts. You buy these and it gives forever. If your name is the purchaser?
THE GOVERNMENT WILL NEVER KNOW WHO HAS IT!
I’m almost 72. Life sentence doesn’t mean what it used too. But just in case my fallback is:
Free room.
Free food.
Free dental.
Free medical.
And, for a total of about $220.00? Done deal.
Can it shoot the 32 round XD mags? Thanks!
I don't know, we don't have that magazine to test
XD9 mags work...XDM mags won't! slightly different mag body geometry on the XDM vs original
XD9
I’d get a surgeon to quote removal of that pesky thumb. Thanks
Keep all your Mags loaded, Empty Mags are like Dead Power Tool Batteries, Useless when you need them.
REAL BRG9 review:
I am not a Pro reviewer, I've had many guns and use
bulk ammo!
1) First mag: "Loaded chamber indicator" barely moves,
unlike XD's!
2) First 5 mags: spent brass fly's straight up and down
your back like a Lugar!
3) Mag release unlatches toooo easy and twice
mags partly drop for no round loaded malfunction!
3A) Finger groove cut along entire top side of grip:
this appears to allow fingers to edge down to mag
release and loosen it; unlike more limited groove
with a lip on XD.
Likely this was done to look different than XD9;
BUT was OVER DONE allowing unintended mag
releases.
4) 5 times failure to fully eject, starting when dirty
after 5th mag!
5) ever notice other testers using GLOVES: two-tone
SS slide gets REALLY hot, untouchable in range session
unlike XD.
6) 6 times failure to fire: primer dented BUT all rounds
fire on 2nd strike; light strikes. Cheap ammo as XD
has same issue although half as much.
7) "Small" backstrap really medium sized, BUT straps
clearly marked to ID them. With "Small" grip is same
as standard XD9.
7A) Included kit lacks essential Nitro solvent and PP332
punch to change backstrap. Some say solvent may pose a
hazmat issue in shipping; still no reason to not include
the punch.
8) When dirty dirt regularly gets blown into face unlike
XD's.
9) All standard XD and Meggar mags work perfect, I
prefer shiny mags as you can find them when dropped
on patrol instead of kicking them down a storm drain!
Other reviewers appear to not do night patrols.
10) Sights are different: they are riveted to a base
plate sized for both front or back slide cuts, rear might
be XD compatible but front looks not...LOL finding a set
of night sights!!
11) 2 pins securing the gun began backing out after just
10 mags (160 rounds);
I've never seen this on my 6 XD's and thousands of
rounds!!
12) In my comparison tests the BRG9 shot just like a
XD9 except for prior 3A issue. Not softer or harder:
slide, mags, slide release still feel just like XD9. Has
a proven "duty" trigger, not a $5000 gun's match trigger.
Summary: this is the first run of these in the USA, most
other countries lack a seasoned population of gun
owners to vigorously shoot and then find and complain
about more bothersome tactical and ergonomic
issues. BRG9 points and shoots well!
BUT nothing is perfect, be aware of these issues. LOL
I took it out again yesterday, after 7 mags those pins backed out again:
my shooting buddy said his chassis version Bersa was doing the same thing;
this has nothing to do with breaking-in. Online reviewers recommended using
BLUE Loctite on the pins to fix. Same for those too low thumb grooves
activating the mag releases and lack of night sights I use on all my EDC guns.
I also said:
"Summary: this is the first run of these in the USA, most
other countries lack a seasoned population of gun
owners to vigorously shoot and then find and complain
about more bothersome tactical and ergonomic
issues. BRG9 points and shoots well!
BUT nothing is perfect, be aware of these issues. LOL"
After loctiting those cross-pins took BRG9 out to test them BUT
rear sight shot loose after 2 mags after prior 17 mags, uses metric
1.5 mm allen... what else will go wrong that UA-cam reviewers never said??
This addresses the XD-EXTRA TIGHT SIGHTS ISSUE; most sight
removal tools BREAK on Mil-spec tough XD sights... this was not
well executed: it's a very bad day if your sights just fall off
when fighting for your life!! Not EDC level gun!!
About July 20th finally contacted Buffalo Cartridge, returned and
they replaced the gun BUT not an exact two-tone replacement, all
black on Sept. 9th.
On the range, for the first time, this BRG9 shot 200 rounds without
losing a sight OR having those chassis pins back out. Their
representative said they'll either send me another gun or replacement
slide. I'm hoping for a slide!
I'm still not sure it's good enough for EDC!
LOL
brg does not respond to emails if you have issues with their firearms. bought a gen 1 brg9 and it would not feed underwood 147 grain hard cast bullets. emailed the company several times but never heard a word back. I would be very cautious about this company for that very reason.
update to response below: I never recevied any emails from brg period. My 28 plus years in law enforcement (police officer) tells me that you only responded now because you do not want negative publicity concerning issues with this gun to be made known to the public. I provided my email, cell phone number and address on three occasions and never got a response. The problem was resolved after someone chimmed in and suggested I deburr the feed ramp area. I did this and now the gun functions as it should. He also reminded me that you get what you pay for and this is no exception. I stand by my assesment concerning your company's response and the information that you state below is not accurate.
Sorry you had this issue. We checked our records and it looks like you reached out via email on 1/26/23 after business hours. A response email was sent on 1/27/23 and resolution completed that very same day once firearm registration was confirmed. We hope you are satisfied with the resolution. Please reach out at anytime. We will always stand behind our products!
is ki price to batao
How do you know so quickly that the failure was not ammo or gun related? Seems like you’re trying to make excuses for a failure rather than just address it for what it is.
Because I've reviewed hundreds of firearms, understand how they work, and have fired thousands and thousands of rounds. If you paid attention in the video we show you what the issue was. I've seen that exact thing happen with most of the major ammunition manufacturers. Even if the error rate for ammunition was just 0.001 I've fired enough rounds to see it several times. We did in fact call it exactly what is was.
What!!! Watch the video..
@@Jeff-xn1ew I did
Well I also am pretty experienced with shooting. I shoot about 20,000 rounds annually. 3/4 of that is factory. The rest reloaded, I reload 15 different calibers. And having shot many guns and experienced many failures, I would never feel so confident after a failure to declare that it’s “not the gun or the ammo, it’s just something that happens.” That’s not how this works, and sounds like you’re trying to make excuses for both the gun and the ammo. But in reality, one or the other or both failed in some respect. Does that mean they’re bad? No. Even the military expects unexplained failures every 5000 rounds. But to brush it off like that with no more than a cursory investigation is not a good look.
I like your channel. I’m trying to be constructive and helpful. Not overly critical.
@@randalljeffs7272 I never heard that in my 15 years on active duty, not even during the 3 years I spent as an armorer. Did you not watch the video? We showed what caused it and it's certainly something that a 20k/annual shooter like you should be familiar with.
UA-cam is starting to get annoying. Why wont the let you show people how to change a grip to a different size grip
They consider that "modifying a firearm"
You shot placement was bad because your stance was bad and you were leaning too far forward and your arms were too stiff. Relax keep an isosceles Stan's bend at the elbows.
Either shave that beard or stop being a baby. “The slide serrations are sharp 😢” it’s a $200 gun! I wanted more mags but they’re like $30ish? So I just bought a whole other gun cause, economics 🤔
This was not a $200 gun when we made this review.
When is the GEN 2 being released? I know it’s supposed to be in 2023!? Great job btw!
No optic cut on a new gun in 2022 is a huge miss
