I’m heavily inspired by Novo guitars by Dennis Fano - and my building philosophy is - not to reinvent the wheel- but rather try to learn from the greats.
I’m a guitar building beginner and I have been following The Great Guitar Build Off competition 2020. I learned a lot from the competitors and that inspired me greatly to build a guitar myself.
I built my first guitar under lockdown last summer 2020 and guitar building kind of hooked me.
You can watch first guitar build right here:
    • How I built my dream g...
I have bought a neck from GuitarAnatomy.com and the body is built of old pine wood floor boards from a house built in 1808.
Why is that a good thing? Because old wood is cool ... and also more resonant.
The point is to learn how to build great guitars. It can't be rocket science, but it's fascinating. My plan is to learn from the best by researching materials, components, and methods.

    Great video, as usual.
I’ve had the same issues with shielding grounding out the wiring. My Mickey-mouse fix was applying low-tack tape to either the wiring or the shielding where the wires make contact.
    Excited for more videos!

Hi Ramiro, Thanks so much. I thought about doing the same thing… putting some tape over the shielding. But right now it all works right now 😅
Thanks for always great comments 🙏🏻😃

Hi Markus. I have parts on the way for my next build but I’m not going to make the body myself. Mostly because I don’t have a clear idea of what to make. Maybe my own shape or some kind of thinline…?
If you have any ideas please inspire me 😜
Hey thanks so much for watching again, really appreciate it 🙏🏻😃

Wow … you were there. I have never seen The Police live. My t-shirt is a “fake” 😳
I saw Sting on his “Dream of the blue turtle” tour though. Amazing concert 🥳
      Thanks for watching 🙏🏻😃

@@MichaelLagerstedt One of the greatest show's I've seen was Sting at Miami University Ohio, on the Nothing Like the Sun tour. I saw the Police again at Madison Square Garden on their reunion tour in 2005 I think it was. Haha, this Saturday I'm going to see Andy in Patchogue, Long Island, on his Cracked Lens tour. That should be great!

Mike , if you use insulation tape or duck or thin plastic in cavity you can insulate and sheilding will not be affected/effected??

The boost I built in was a Fender Eric Clapton mid boost kit made for Claptons strat … it definitely does 😃👍👍👍

Other ways to get built in boost. Tried a “Blower Switch”

    • @MichaelLagerstedt
      @MichaelLagerstedt  Рік тому +1

I had to google “Blower Switch”. So you simply cut out anything else from the circuit so that the signal goes directly from the pickup to the jack.
I guess that can ‘boost’ a little. Interesting idea. 😉👍… Did you try it?
Off course it’s not quite like the 25db boost though.
Thanks so much for watching and for an interesting comment 🙏🏻😃

What a wonderful guitar you built.
But this beauty is perfect for who is a good player for many years of study and live show, and have expansive gear too.
Is not my case.... Infact my friends call me .......Joe Strummer.... 😂nuff said
