So MANY BABIES!!! They're beautiful! What a happy tank. These are awesome and you're awesome for teaching us about shellies.
I just love these fish. They look like they have black eyeliner on, and some pink blush! Very attractive, entertaining fish. Definitely a favorite of your many tanks!
It's lovely to see these fish again!
Hey alex!
I have really fancied getting these fish, since seeing them on your live stream a while ago. So glad you did this video, loved seeing them again.
Your looking so much better since the surgery. Each video/ and your live stream you did after the surgery, you can see your improvement, less amount of pain in your face! 💕 keep improving 💕
Their reputation has always suggested no plants. They do their own aquascaping. Your idea of plants in rocks, is great! I am getting some of these next month, still working on the tank! Thanks for the idea!!
I've been researching care requirements for these fish for the past 4 days. What a coincidence that you should release this video today!
They are really the cutest things. The fact that they dwell in shells is truly fascinating.
You should be very proud of that Shelly tank, it looks amazing and the fish are beauties! 😍
Awesome tank! Love it!
What cuties! Glad to know they're doing so well 🙂 I love it when you have gratuitous fish footage, too.
Those sardine cichlids look very cool as well!!!
I got 4 female and 2 male multifasciatus on June 9 and put them in their own 10 gallon tank, and I just found fry in the tank today.
I had never heard of these before... discover new fish all the time in your vids! These guys are super cute. I like the music you used in the "gratuitous footage", it's cool. Reminds me of TRON for some reason, lol. Seriously am I the only one who thinks of TRON listening to that???
They are such an awesome fish! Great update on them. You're looking great! It's good to see you are recovering so well!
They are pretty neat....can you do an update on conga tetras? Love you Rachel...your videos are great!
glad to see you back in the fish room thank-you for showing us your shellies there one of my fav's, glad your feeling betting and up and around finally
They're so subtley pretty 🌸
Multis are awesome! I have 4 fry and an adult going in a 20 long right now. The little bulldozers are always moving the substrate around. Super cool to watch. Thanks for the update.
❤️this fish 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Shelldwellers are stunning and the Sardines are fantastic! 😀 You look also great Rachel 👌
I used to have 3 of them. They were really cool!
Hope you enjoyed your trip to Ontario.
Very informative as always.
Love this tank.
I'm, liking these shell dwellers more and more, can you direct me as to where I can order some , and how many I should start off with?
Secondly and more important is good to see you moving around after your surgery seem to be healing well just take your time ok. I love your channel, great content.
I love watching your videos Rachel and your fish room is awesome and amazing and hope one day to meet you and see your fish room
They look great! Hope you're taking it easy on that knee while in Canada!
Super cute
Would love to buy some Shellies from you when your ready to sell and ship.
3:44 Speaking of eating, I spied a disappearing fry in the background here.
the 2 Sardine cichlids sreaming ""we're here too, we need attention"" hehehee
Love music!
I always wanted to try shellies!
Dis you say sardines, those guys are really cool. Thanks for sharing sister.
Thx Really cutty
I had been thinking to get these in a 20L, like a lot of other folks. When I saw you set up this one, I changed my mind and now aim at a 55, with the 20L as the sump.
I love plants in the tank, which don’t always mix with cichlids. Since you’re having success with rockwork plants, I think I’ll try that. Is the sponge the only filter?
Looks great.
Yes. There are two sponge filters (one at each side of the tank)
I'm setting up a shellie tank. I want to try to breed them. Is there any other fish I could keep with them that wouldn't stop them from breeding? I love your videos! Thanks
Hi Rachel, thanks for making your videos. Question: do you sell the shell dwellers? And if not, do you know a place where I can purchase them? Thank you!
yaaaaaaaaas queen!
long time viewer here you make great videos I was wondering if you could do a species spot light on the dragon goby or violet goby as there seems to be a lot of conflicting information about how to keep them
Oh Circle of life you talking about more particles falling to the babies and out grown-up just sucked a baby right up breaks my heart I know it happens it happens to me all the time too with my guppys
Have you thought of getting more/female sardine cichlids? I hear they're a schooling fish
Love those sardines! Can you have them in larger numbers? I'll try to find some in the near future...
Yes. They are best in bigger groups and large tanks. They are unfortunately VERY fragile in shipping
Hi Rachel, what's your opinion on sugar being one of the listed ingredients on the Sera O-Nip tablets? I ordered some recently without reading the ingredients list and was surprised to see sugar listed in the fish food.
love these little guys!! easy to breed! any plans to get other species of shell dwellers?
Hopefully!
look into lamprologus ocellatus. A little monster with massive a attiude! good fun to watch!! they are a harem breeder and not the best parents.
Are you planning on selling any. I can't find any where I live.
The shelleys and the sardine cichlids are probably the only cichlids I would consider keeping ^^ I really don't like the otehr cichlids' looks x)
Rachael, what happened with the telmatochromis temporalis shell?
I sold them to someone who was very eager to work with them
How do you syphon the gravel without sucking up there babies/disturbing their home???
I pinch off the hose so the suction is gentle
are the plecos breeding in the tank too?
They are not at maturity yet
Gratuitous footage? Should I wear a brown paper bag over my head while I watch? ;)
Rachel, I notice that some of the Multi's have long, stringy poops. Are they having constipation issues or is that a parasitic infection or what?
It's from the freeze dried food in the onip mix. Long stringy poo is a terrible way to diagnose issues unless you take diet into consiseration
First!!! Hooray!!! I love my Multis too!!
They are super awesome fish! Might I ask what is the other fish that is i the tank with them?
"cyprichromis leptosoma utinta" i believe
Thanks!
LOL, you just like saying Neolamprologus multifaciatus :)
I'm sure you're losing tons of baby fries because of the catfish species in the aquarium.
