I feel like I'm the one being watched.
Creepy af
Saint Will ikr
looks like a Chracter dancing taked from a MonkeyISLAND game - creepy
Its even better in slow motion lol.
I didn’t notice the first time 😂
That was some "serial killer" stuff there in the time lapse
actually just about to put that comment in haha, it is really creepy lol (deep down i loved it)
balla
I about died laughing.
Lol
*That case looks so nice but after watching Steve's video on it it's so disappointing*
I had the Q300L and didn't save it. You'd think a case with so many holes in it would have good airflow, but as Steve found, it doesn't. The front and top are (I calculated it) 80% metal and 20% open. And then in front of that is "mesh" which is only 50% open. Putting fans there is mostly futile.
I really wonder how it would be if you'd put a 92mm fan with a lot more static pressure would handle the situation, it could be able to push through those holes more effectively than that 120mm would. But yeah, wouldn't stick anything worth more than 600 bucks in there, it'll probably be a grave-box for my previous pc if I really need to buy a case. The small layout with the psu upfront is really intriguing
EJSC then a 9400F is enough according to your theory, why even bother with multithreading.
my brother has this case and the window is way too dark and the Acrylic doesnt look good.
Yeah, I watched the same video a day or two ago, and as soon as Paul showed us the case the thought that went through my mind was, "Well, you're f****d." That was before I remembered that Ryzen runs hotter than Intel. Sure, the graphics card is the main heat generator, but when you have a case that already overheats, I'm willing to bet that every bit counts.
The looking at the camera while unboxing. Such skill.
yes
You staring at the camera during the unboxing was GOLDEN
You should wear a anti static bracelet. You could have lost a hand during this build. With no swiss army knife to stitch it back on. Try stitching your hand back on with that screwdriver. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
💀
Paul: And it only COSTS $1150
me: *cries in cheap*
@EJSC 8700($300) is more expensive than the ($225)2700. The 2700 will handle all streaming and gaming on a 2070 with consummate ease and there's an upgrade path to the 3 series, as well as a cheaper mobo. More performance would equate to what, 10% in some games, but you're missing out on 2 more cores for everything else.
Buy used and buy over time as opportunities arise. You can save a few hundred.
@EJSC What about the thermals compared the the Ryzen 7 2700?
@All my heroes are villains The Ryzen 5 2600x outperforms it.
AwesomeZFighter
cheap guy? what you use now, just do small upgrades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$1150, only go for a good RTX card now, keep the old intel k! enough!
Instead of using a trusty screwdriver
You should get a swiss army knife that "may" have a screwdriver
I love this meme
*hopefully
And the all important tweezers.
And an Alan Wrench
If you are building in this case I recommend you don't.
Yeah. Gamers Nexus made that pretty clear. Lol
@scaryempire159 anything else other than the inwin 101.
@scaryempire159 If anyone else is reading this and wondering which case to use, the NZXT H510 is in this price bracket. It's a fantastic case. The only real negative is that it's very minimalist in it's design, so the front panel connectors are limited to 1 USB 3.0 A type, 1 USB C type, 1 audio jack that supports the 3 wire connector(don't worry it comes with an adapter if your headset needs two), and that's all. There's a total of 3 3.5" drive bays and 2 2.5" drive bays, a full length PSU shroud and lots of room in the back for cable management.
@scaryempire159 was really looking at this case because it is very cheap, but how is the NZXT H510 better though? it has a solid front panel, how can that result in better air flow than this?
damn I wish I found out about the pc youtube community before buying my prebuilt...im learning so much everyday
I feel your pain fellow pre-built.
@@ryansullivan1331 Same.... I just ordered some upgrades.
@@michaelc9105 since this comment I've actually built one myself. Greatest decision ever. I wish you luck with your build!
You should challenge Kyle: first-one-to-stop-staring-at-the-camera-while-building-a-pc-loses-and-has-to-do-a-dare
Hey Paul! Thanks for highlighting how to turn the AMD Logo right side up! That is something that bothers a lot of people, and you are the first large tech youtuber I have seen cover it. I do want to let everyone know though, I rotated mine on my 2600x, and it was more or less very easy so I do recommend doing it if you don’t have the RGB cooler!
Also, weird you had so many problems with the Q500l. The 300l was such a slam dunk, and I think they wanted to bring that to ATX, but it came with some quirks. Well good build!
Hi Paul. I noticed you plugged the intel nvme ssd into the sata m.2 port instead of the m.2 pcie port above the gpu. It won't work am i right ? Asking bcos I'm planning a build on the same mobo.
Thank you for the cooler rotate! Looks much better. It's also much easier on the non rgb version of the Wraith Spire.
It looks nice the problem for me is the power supply positioning. This case imo isnt very well laid out
I have a Q300L! Really solid case, I really liked building my pc in it
Dremel tool time! Cut 120mm holes in the steel so you have airflow for the fans. 👀
4:27 starring into the camera the whole time lmao
man you just made a bomb
you combined intel,amd and nvidia
I have never seen so many complaints over a free, yes free video in my life. You complainers all are so great and smart build your own on UA-cam.
Loving the new coloured thumbscrew shirt! Might need to pick one up...
I know it was a total pain in the rear but putting that AMD Logo in the correct orientation was so worth it IMHO, well done...
Why AMD hasn't done it to begin with is mind boggling as it looks so much better and speaks to quality when attention to the little details is obviously a priority to a company when they do things like that...
Nice build as always...
I bought that MB about 2 weeks ago and there is nothing bad I have to say about it! Cheap but yet still packs features of a full atx
2:11 you got me excited about that nVME SSD price, I checked some benchmarks and it's speed almost the same as regular sata ssds
4:27 lol you stared at the camera the whole time 😂
Love that you were honest about the difficulties that you had. Very informative. Thank you.
saying the steel legend has decent power delivery may be pushing it a bit. looks to be a 4 + 2 phase which puts it at the lower end.
For $20 more you could get the thermaltake h200. Only room for one Hdd, but it has trays for two 2.5" drives (though these days m.2 is king). Case is very heavy and rock solid. Airflow might be a bit lacking with minimal front intake. But the case does have decent top, back, and bottom vents. Cable management options are fair
the most underated case of all time in youtube. there is no such case that can fit a full ATX motherboard in a mini itx case. i even fit a 280mm radiator and 2pcs 14cm fan at the top (depend on the motherboard alluminum heatsink can hinder the radiator, if ever just remove the heatsink). this can even fit a 14cm fan in any position except at the exhaust. the downside is just the acrylic panel. no more no less. YOU DID NOT EVEN INSTALLED 1 fan bellow the PSU and 2 FAN at the BOTTOM. complete the fan slot before you dictate and put a 14cm.
A german UA-camr was testing the B450 Steel Legend with a ryzen 7 2700. Overclocked it was thermal throtteling like hell even with direct cooling over the VRM's. Don't wanna know how the VRM-temperatures will be in this case. Especially if you already get a MSI-Card just get sth. like the B450 Tomahawk which will handle the 8 Core CPU without a problem and you don't need another RGB-software. Would be cool if you could test it as well though!
I put a pair of fans in the bottom of my case to make use of all that space and to light up my GPU. It looked really good :)
For anyone curious this motherboard has very hot VRMs with 8 core cpus at a fairly moderate voltage. I have a ryzen 5 3600 at 4ghz and 1.4volts and my vrms hit 85 but i've seen 2700x hitting 98 at 4.1ghz 1.45 volts
Would you recommend this mobo for the 3600 or save my money for a better board?
I'm keen to see your follow up video! If this is anything like my testing in a Q300L that "just in case" fan that there didn't seem to be room for is definitely going to be missed...
I immediately did the same thing with the fan of the stock cooler when I installed it and the AMD logo was on the side ;D
I have two AMD builds and the logo orientation was bothering me until I saw this video :)
Nice video. Learning a lot ... thanks! Getting excited about building my own gaming pc...
Paul, you forgot the last few steps: Take everything back out, put it inside a Crystal 280x and throw that Cooler Master case in the trash.
Thanks for having that motherboard in the video, I'm checking it out since it's mATX and on sale now!
Oh, the spire cooler has a large copper heat pipe in the middle, it's not just a solid copper slug.
Nice one sir. If I may can give you a small tip please. Just put some vaseline inside of the ring so it can slide easy just a bit on inside surface.
When will you test that build? We want to see the benchmarks. Thanks bro
The Q500l is the atx version as it supports atx, that's why there is a gap at the bottom of the case.
Another build video without benchmarks. Yay
Before any benchmarks could be run the conclusion was: don't buy this case. So no benchmarks are necessary. If you want to know why watch GamersNexus case review.
@7:45 I did a build in a mini-itx case and I had to turn it because the little raised "AMD" either hit the motherboard heatsink or the RAM. Mine wasn't the RGB version, but it was a pain in the neck...
Paul, you messed up the SSD placement! I had a customer come in today wondering why he wasn't seeing his storage device after following this video for his build, and it's because that bottom M.2 slot is SATA-only! You need to use the top one for PCIe SSDs. If you see this, you should pin a comment about it just in case anyone else gets thrown off by it. Thanks!
Alot of really good popular tech youtubers out there, but I think Paul is my favorite.
Maybe you should try building in a be quiet! case they are well engineered and are very versatile.
Great video. Nice build, solid parts list for a decent price.....
Cheers
Gamers Nexus did not look favorably on this case yesterday. The airflow may be better with a smaller mobo. Be good to see how your temps are on this case with your build.
I'm really happy I came across this video. Console gamer here looking to make the big step for a more epic gaming experience. I wanted to see if the 2070 would fit in this motherboard because I dont want a bulky pc hehe. Wasn't sure if you had to buy a smaller graphics card in order to build a mini atx. I'm stoked cant wait to buy all my parts. Oh and I can put the 2700x in for about the same price at this point in time.. Cheers!!!
Dude u are amazing as always ! Clear and nice , no nonsense and direct stuff.... 🙏
4:27 PAUL! YOU MADMAN
Love the unbox time lapse
I’ve recently upgraded to that board and it’s pretty sweet so far. My only issue was finding ram that worked in it. I ended up using corsairs vengeance rgb pro dimms. And I learned the hard way that B-dies are the way to go for the most part
tbh with the amount of effort you put into fixing the cpu fan i'd prob would have just replaced the cooler with like a cryorig h7 or 212 evo
you should do a rebuild video with the 300 case
F!@#Guilt
Case? why you need other cases?
Trying to build your first Rig kid?
@@lucasrem No ma'am. the original smaller case he intended to build with.
This case is very cool should I say Cooler Master!
Then better now watch the review from gamer nexus.. aka worst case 2019 lol
The coolermaster HOTBOX
WayStedYou
Why hot? Needing to clock it on 4.6, buy some intel k board!
I like all the parts esp the case the color the rgb, Love this build. Simple and elegant
I recently bought that Intel 660P at 2TB and it was a steal of a deal.
thats because the intel 660p freakin sucks. its quicker than other ssd's at first, but it quickly becomes slower than a hard drive when youre writing larger files. its absolutely horrible and should only be used in the cheapest of situations, even a sata ssd stays consistently faster.
Omg i love this case ! Look how many holes it has mounting pump res combo or anything else is so much easier than drilling holes everywhere !
There isn't enough room for a pump res combo and why would you water cool in a $60 case?
@@robertp457 of curse there is room I stuffed one in my shift so in that is plenty of room.
And Watercooling a 60$ case with intelligent design is totally worth it
Can the PSU also be mounted at the normal spot?
Weird PSU placement in that case. The final product looks good though, but does it perform? Test it, Paul.
Damn I wish you didn't remove the shroud from the cooler. If you just removed the screws and rotated it, that's all!
seriously... I did it a few weeks back and it took me less than 45 seconds total
im fairly sure he was drunk when he made this video, because theres alot of dumb mistakes he made that were causing him trouble. all he needed was a longer screwdriver for the cooler.
Nah, I have R7 2700 and shroud is blocking screws, removing it is only way.
When I did my ryzen build I strongly considered turning that fan shroud. But decided not to mess with it. Just figured after market cooler down the road was a better idea.
G'day Paul,
I think Cooler Master sent this instead of the Q300L to get you to review it,
Apart from the problems you had Patrick a Gamers Nexus spent a whole week trying to improve airflow,
Apparently for airflow it is one of the worst G/N has tested & nearly as bad as the Walmart Case with the glass front on
Worse than the bitfenix oh god
@@chip1646 Basically the same as the same as the Enso in stock config, & this case has vents on every side where the Enso has none
The cooler master masterbox nr400. It;s a much better case with great airflow and a tempered glass side panel !
5:45 I died😁
Steve (well, Patrick really) didn't go into too much detail about trying to fit the PSU at the bottom.
Did you try it out? It looks like there should be plenty of room but it's hard to tell.
Hey man nice build but isn't this case like notorious for having horrible airflow as well as of course having the inside of the case be extremely hot?
Good thing you didn't go for the full ATX. GN reviewed it in that case and the thermals were horrible.
The coolers are good for what they are, but the shroud's cosmetic design is a fail. I'm not sure how it is with the taller Wraith Spire, but with the Wraith Stealth the little nub with the AMD logo on it can interfere with other components on small / tightly packed boards, so rotating it might be necessary. Don't bother prying the outer ring off, it only attaches back on one of two possible ways: sideways with the nub on the left, or sideways with the nub on the right, which you can achieve by simply rotating the whole cooler. If you want to rotate the nub 90 degrees so it's the right way up and doesn't interfere with either your ram or your vrm heatsink, you need to undo those four screws holding it to the heatsink and probably damage or at least scratch the shroud in the process. The screws are also really easy to strip because they bite into the aluminum so hard. And all of this could be fixed by simply installing the fan assembly the way Paul has it here straight from the factory.
The smartest case I"ve ever seen!!!
Hi I say a very important thing when i see the stock cooler. The cooler is oxidated and this is a problem for a life span and the temps the. oxidated copper is bad. use a polychrome paste or other :)
you can place the psu on the bottom just like the q300l
I can’t wait to see 3rd Gen Ryzen and the builds to come... 🤤
Bxggs it’s gonna be lit!
Nous Burger for sure
Bought that same PSU for my dads new PC. Super happy that amazon had it on sale.

dads PC, old guy? Golf simulator? google maps?
Local, unable to find any good solution?
@@lucasrem elder scrolls online
Yeah getting the wraith spire fan off was a pain.. I too roatated the logo and also put some tape over the bright amd logo too. Took me 20 mins just to get it back assembled. Bet at the factory it goes in a matter of seconds.
will p
You should use TSMC logo, AMD was, over now....
upside down, what ever you need boy!
Steel legend is amazing board, dont worry about using matx, if you havnt seen the gamers nexus review the 500l is beyond horrible with atx size gear in it
Yeah, but the first charges where bad, because vrm temps were too hot to maintain a 2700x meanwhile full load like rendering, because the thermalpads where too thin.
Idk how a mistake like this could be done..
@@Xenoray1 yeah id agree with that, sad thing is id still accept it though cause, both pauls or gamers nexus, thermals be da÷=$@" cause no matter what its a major upgrade to my current pc, rofl
I have the same motherboard in the build. I'm using a ryzen 5 2600 with the wraith stealth stock cooler and I like it alot. I'm going to overclock when I get a new cpu cooler but the stock cooler isn't bad. Never goes over 70C while gaming at stock.
@@Nick-uz6cu Definetly get other coolinf First, its suppose to oc well on that board so good luck.
Why wouldn't AMD make that cooler so the logo is at the top by default? Or at the very least make it easily adjustable . . . Also that unboxing experience was freaky as hell. Did you actually just stare at the camera and do that or was that green screen and a floaty head put on your body? lol. Great vid as always.
I can't build without a basement in my case. A combination of I suck at cable management so having something to hide my mistakes. also I like how I can keep my power supply on it's own airflow loop instead of the case air
Dude, I love your build videos!
glad you mention compatibility of ram for ryzen, it'll save a lot of people the headaches
not really unless you get crap that has "amd compatible" written all over the box and description and they like the jack the price up on those just because of that. most of the ram people use with ryzen doesnt have that in the description, people have just figured out what works from trial and error
I have a love hate relationship with these videos. I love just watching build vids, and Paul is awesome, but I'm also reminded how screwed we are on price in my region (which is not the fault of Paul or anyone else on UA-cam, so I'll still watch them). The CPU and GPU alone destroy that $1150 budget (unconverted to local currency).
Also Antec p6 is $40 and has more SSD mounting and 3 hard drive trays. Along with a PSU shield, unfortunately it's riveted
You should see if they can make a few of those front panels for you and maybe you can sell them in your store.
Man i wish i had pc like this
Goddamn.. That viewer eye-contact.
I have the b450 ATX Steel Legend and love it. Only issue is it doesn't have a VRM temp sensor and it worries me, but I can get a temp gun thing i suppose.
I build a system for a friend of mine in the Q 300l and ist very nice to work with and looking super good espacelly if you keep the low price tag in mind
Nice build Paul 👏
What monitor would you recommend with this build, Paul? Also, thank you for the video.
high resolution or high refreshrate monitor
4:27 - that face though
Love this build, Excellent job, Thank you.
Plz do some thermal test. I'm kinda disappointed after watching the test from GN.... want to know your thought of the thermal performance.
" want to know your thought of the thermal performance." If you notice no fresh air can get to the CPU. It's not going to be good. The CPU is basically trapped between the power supply and the backplate of the videocard.
it looks really nice, my only concern is that the power supply takes a lot of space in the front that could be used for fans, though i suppose you could pop a fan on the top and that would be fine too right?
Well for all new parts it'll cost 1150 but I just looked at all the parts on the used market it'll cost around 600-800 which is a big savings g
By some reason your unpacking montage reminded me of fellow brazilian youtuber and pianist Vinheteiro
5:49 why was Linus there?
The Crucial P1 is another good NvME for the same price. Also, knowing the thermals for this case re: GamersNexus, widening the holes in the front with a Dremal and using static pressure fans may help. It may not though too lol.
Cool build
