HI, Brookes. Thank you for doing this for all of us. I have a question: on minute 1:59 you said that you can hold and then click on ''convert layers to tracks''. I do not see this option. Do you have any idea why? 🥺
Yes. I clicked on the ''+'' button, add a photo of an illustration I made in Procreate, then I tried to do what you did and I couldn't find the option.@@CharacterDesignForge
@@AGPacman That's because importing a photo means youre importing a jpeg, not a .procreate file. Thus the exact instructions I was giving about importing a file from procreate :)
is there a way to take a regular procreate animation and put it into dreams? i have multiple animatics id like to import so i can fill in the inbetweens because i ran out of frames in rtegular procreate
This video has made me excited to try the app, but as someone who is very new to animation, the ending was a bit intimidating lol Hopefully, as I use the app more, some of things will make more sense.
so if i want to learn animation and motion graphics should I start with basic version of procreate then move to procreate dreams or just start with procreate dreams without buying basic procreate?
So I just started looking at trying frame by frame drawn animation by using Krita (since it's free). I don't have much knowledge about the process outside of basics such as onion skins. How does this compare to my complete beginner experience? No matter what I pick up there will be a learning curve at this point, and I want to keep going with frame by frame animation, so would this app have features that make that approach easier....? I don't even know if anything exists to make that a quicker task instead of just manually drawing more in-between frames until it's smoother
Rescinded my original comment and did some more research. It looks like this is app will be a huge step forward in making animation accessible to more people.
When I animate digitally I get criticized by some that it looks flipbook style (there is no book) no matter how fluid I try to make it. I wonder if that is just the default name calling people use for 2D when they are used to CGI as none of the critics even like animation let alone understand it.
flip book style just means frame by frame 2D animation. it’s probably not an insult but either way do literally whatever you want. P.S. fluidity is overrated
why does the app barely function? it can hardly handle me pressing the home button anyone else? I was quite excited to get started after using procreate for so long, but i’ve been unable to do virtually anything in the app, let alone start animating. I hope it becomes more usable after a few updates D:
So I'm looking at this 5 months later, and the "convert layers to tracks" doesn't seem to be showing up for me. Am I doing something wrong or is the feature gone?
1:59 when I hold on the file I import from Procreate, the option "convert layers to tracks" doesn't show for me, any advices? The files I try to import have layers, but it seems I might be doing something wrong
I dont understand why the flipbook is complicated to use compared to the Og Procreate App. And selecting multiple frames to move is a dud. I hope these basic features get added version, including the Quick shape tool, Brush customization, etc
Are they ever going to fix that pen/touch bug? I'm really sick of my knuckle making random marks all over my drawings. BTW: How about some vector brushes?
Hey that’s not a glitch that happens with every single drawing app, if you touch skin to your screen it’ll do something. If that’s an issue for you, you should buy a drawing glove, the glove prevents your knuckles and palm from making marks on the screen ❤
I’ve bern wanting to have Procreate Dreams for a while, but I’m concerned my iPad is not really compatible with it and I’d just be wasting money since the app could not work bc of very limited layers since my procreate already have so little maximal layers. What do you think if I bought it but my iPad is 9th gen with 1st gen apple pencil? Thanks!

Too late I already opened it at 00:01 last night
is there a way to take a regular procreate animation and put it into dreams? i have multiple animatics id like to import so i can fill in the inbetweens because i ran out of frames in rtegular procreate
This video has made me excited to try the app, but as someone who is very new to animation, the ending was a bit intimidating lol
Hopefully, as I use the app more, some of things will make more sense.
I came here like a firefly to your lantern logo✨😍
so if i want to learn animation and motion graphics should I start with basic version of procreate then move to procreate dreams or just start with procreate dreams without buying basic procreate?
Honestly Procreate’s animation feature is very basic and far different from procreate dreams’s animation. I’d just buy Dreams
@@gordonramslay9955 thx for help
Watching this while the app downloads : ) so excited!!!
why can't you hold the pen after you draw a circle/square to smooth it out like in procreate...
art and animation are perfect
So I just started looking at trying frame by frame drawn animation by using Krita (since it's free). I don't have much knowledge about the process outside of basics such as onion skins.
How does this compare to my complete beginner experience? No matter what I pick up there will be a learning curve at this point, and I want to keep going with frame by frame animation, so would this app have features that make that approach easier....? I don't even know if anything exists to make that a quicker task instead of just manually drawing more in-between frames until it's smoother
How many gb can it take?
So what I've heard is that procreate Dreams is just procreate and CapCut merge into one which is cool❤
Rescinded my original comment and did some more research. It looks like this is app will be a huge step forward in making animation accessible to more people.
Thank you..🥀
But.. What do we choose at the beginning?
Draw OR Empty??
And What is the difference between them🤔
Is there a difference?
Very good teaching skills. Can’t wait to put another procreate animation together on the new procreate dreams. 😊
This was really fun and informative dude.
Is there a shape tool? Because I haven’t been able to make circles, lines, squares, or poly lines in procreate dreams by holding my pen down
There's none yet. Also, if you check, there's no proper area selection tool, if i correctly remember
Quick question can you draw with your fingers in procreat dreams
yes you can
How would you import a brush from procreate?
Split the screen to import the brushes from procreate into procreate Dreams
@@owlsgurl thank you
@@wrandoms7598 you're welcome 😊
Is there still a wrench tool?
This is so awesome! I’ll be able to buy it in a few days. Very exciting! Thanks for making this.
I have one doubt can we xreate character by using only proxreate dreams or is it just for animating?
My brushes are going so slow. Any idea how to fix this please?
*reads the title*
*stares at my ipad, Dreams open*
*starts panicking*
_run_
When I try to import a brush from procreate, the "importing one item" loading screen is frozen and makes no progress, indefinitely
I can’t wait to dive into this incredible app!!
Woah, I’ve been using procreate for years and I don’t keep up with it haha.
why does the app barely function?
it can hardly handle me pressing the home button
anyone else?
I was quite excited to get started after using procreate for so long, but i’ve been unable to do virtually anything in the app, let alone start animating.
I hope it becomes more usable after a few updates D:
So I'm looking at this 5 months later, and the "convert layers to tracks" doesn't seem to be showing up for me. Am I doing something wrong or is the feature gone?
1:59 when I hold on the file I import from Procreate, the option "convert layers to tracks" doesn't show for me, any advices? The files I try to import have layers, but it seems I might be doing something wrong
i have the same problems and still can’t figure it out
Procreate Dream final be like: FORGET COMPUTER ANIMATING! YOU CAN NOW MAKE 3D ANIMATION, VFX AND ANYTHING IN PROCREATE DREAM!
I dont understand why the flipbook is complicated to use compared to the Og Procreate App.
And selecting multiple frames to move is a dud. I hope these basic features get added version, including the Quick shape tool, Brush customization, etc
Wanted to give this a try but sadly it's only for the apple store.
Turn off “draw with finger” in the settings, that will fix it. It is usually on by default.
Thanks!
i have 2gb ram and 64 storage
@@salsabilaq3572
2gb of ram may be a problem, you should wait that other people with your same device talk about how the app works for them to be sure! :)
Can procreate dream support a blutooth mouse! I think it’ll help me with moving the layers better
Yep!
@@CharacterDesignForge thank you
Do you by any chance know if there’s a way to disable or change pressure sensitivity in dreams? I am slowly going crazy..
not outside of the imported brush's setting as far as I'm aware of, yet. Should be in there soon
6:30 this is so helpful omg
How do you make a costom canvas size : ( ?
Bro. How many ROM & RAM on your iPad?
is anyone else having a problem where all of the brushed have maximum stabilizing and streamline? if possible how can i turn that off?
Is quickshape in it? I can’t figure it out
Do you do any online classes
I’m so getting this
does procreate dreams have brush stabilizer .
Yep! It retains what ever stabilization and streamline settings the brush had in the Brush Studio before importing it.
Sorry what do mean when importing from brush studio?@@CharacterDesignForge
You did a great job on this project sir
Why thank you!
@@CharacterDesignForge no problem
the set looks great brookes
15:39 yeah! Rage quit that box!
Pls Can you draw shapes in dreams? If yes how?
My app has a problem where when I draw on the flip book it draws on all the sections
Not being able to edit brushes is a workflow killer, plus that means I am going to have the same brush in several setting which is clunky. Procreate Dreams feels too beta still, and very incomplete.
Just got an iPad Air with procreate! Just waiting for the pencil to come in! It’s killing me cause I want to jump right in!!
