I'm really surprised Teddy hasn't been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He's produced so many great songs, and he's done a lot of producing for Korean pop artists as well.
Nothing beat that New Jack Swing sound. It was just too funky! It boomed in the cars and backyard cookouts. Oh yeah...house parties and skating rinks 🙌. We all have read/heard the dramas of being in groups. No one should forsake your brother or sister in your group but it happens. I miss them and Blackstreet.
If you really listen to it… I mean really listen it’s not good. Him basically telling on himself and I loved that song but once I really listened I was like damn this cat is a wild boy.
Some of the MOST INFLUENTIAL jams came from Guy back in the late 80s and early 90s! I Like, Let's Chill, A Piece of My Love, etc. etc. etc. Teddy Riley is a GENIUS! 🎶🎵❤️❤️❤️❤️
I know right!! What's with these GROWN ASS MEN fucking with little girls? 🤔 like they can't get a woman in their age range....JayZ did it with Foxy Brown he brought her on the scene she was just 15yrs old and his overgrown ass was pass 21 and he was fucking that little girl at that time..No one said anything not even her parents and she had two parents in the household 🤦🏾♀️smh
@@georgiasweetpotato7170 They want somebody they can mold into the woman THEY want them to be. Because when a woman gets to a certain age, she's not having any of that. Same way with older women, which is why Madonna likes them younger then her.
Whewwww when I saw this recommended for me I clicked so FAST!!! Ever since I started listening to Guy myself a couple of years ago I've been completely in love since! "My Fantasy", "Don't Clap, Just Dance" and "New Jack City" are my three favorite songs by them! Those jams are just so funky! I remember hearing their music played when I was extremely young in the mid 90s and it never dawned on me until very recently that they're not really known outside of the black community as most of their hits were only R&B hits. I don't understand why after 30 years they haven't had any honors at award shows and they're NEVER mentioned among all of this '90s nostalgia that's been going on the past few years, yet there have been several songs lately that have sampled their classic hits. Guy is such a beautiful and important part of R&B history. I hope they get their acknowledgment and flowers soon while they're still here. They have bangers for days to be honest. P.S.: Aaron Hall seems to be a huge mess though in his personal life and I believe needs mental help.
I always love when there’s a fairly happy ending ,at least they all still messing with each other..a lot of these groups have so much internal crap that they won’t even tour together..that hurts my heart because I love the 90’s era of music
i cant believe he produced The Show. he was a teenager. crazy 🔥😍hes underrated AF. && Aaron Hall has one of the best voices Ive heard. its interesting hearing how I Miss You was about his late son since the video is the opposite. the girl dies and the baby lives. used to make me cry when I was a kid.
Love your videos, it’s like you fill in the gaps for Unsung. There are so many 90s acts on my list that I want an update on. Btw Aaron sleeping with a 16 year old doesn’t sit right with me omg 🥴 but thanks for the work you do and keep the videos coming.
I didn't either but I heard him do that interview on how he took one of Luke's girl from him and how he did her was down right wrong and so disrespectful I was so disguised on how can you even speak on it on the radio made me look at him so different no wonder why Karma came back and bite him in his dirty a@@ then have the nerve to sing a gospel song afters I was so done with that interview I couldn't hear no more he should have been in jail for battery SMH then dating and doing an underage girl is just nasty
We used to call Aaron Hall “Boathouse Hall” because he locked his baby momma up in the boathouse and someone had to save her. I was in the CFL at the time and both entertainers and athletes share the same representation, publishing and legal firm and rumors spread more frequently than COVID. They say that Aaron hates the nickname, but hell he earned it lol 😂. Great video 👍🏾
Gene Griffin the manager owned the L.L.C and trademark to the group's name he had Aaron, Teddy and Damion sign over almost all over there publishing and royalties without a lawyer present which would have given each member about 30 million dollars apiece when the group members found out what he did they refused to sing that's why GUY broke up.
Let's not forget Piece Of My Love is a banger too till this day. Speaking of Aaron Hall and his hit Don't Be Afraid, um yeah, those lyrics are very questionable 🤔 🤣
I mean, that's the industry in general. Orgies, 3somes, same sex orgies , 3somes. Personally, it's nothing wrong with it. But don't put someone else business out there like that.
It's mighty funny I've been on an aaron hall guy and blackstreet marathon all night when this video popped up out of nowhere the last artist I played was Aaron lol 😆😂.
Teddy Riley definitely deserves more credit as a producer
@@misterbee66 yessss I was literally on a marathon of guy teddy and blackstreet all night when this popped up on my phone lol.
He's really one of the best of all time. Literally responsible for creating a new genre in music. New Jack Swing.

Oh so we have HIM to blame for that mess? 😂

Created a whole sub genre. That’s more than deserving of an induction.
@@brianas6550 New Jack Swings influence is still present in modern rnb
Those music snobs don’t consider new jack swing a real genre, or one that needs to be respected
Teddy doesn't get anywhere near the level of respect he deserves man is one of greatest producers ever!
I Miss You by Aaron Hall is still a timeless song

I absolutely loved the Guy/New Jack Swing Era. I hope they continue to work together. Nothing but love for them ❤❤❤
I got to see Guy at a 90s concert in 2019. I held my hand out and Aaron Hall grabbed my hand 😊. It was a dope concert. Definitely worth a stage seat.
Give Teddy his flowers the man is a music genius && created some timeless classics
Teddy has soooo much talent it's like he does everything
I never realized how much Aaron Hall and Charlie Wilson really do sound alike 💯! This channel brings so much nostalgia, thank you ❤️.
Ppl say R. Kelly was Aaron Hall as his influence or whatsoever.
Me either!!!
Listen to both Gap Band and Guy's versions of "Yearning for your love". Almost identical.
Yeah one time Charlie Wilson wrote a diss song about Aaron
Charlie Wilson influenced Aaron Hall...

Love the new intro btw 🙌🏾! The second video you did with Teddy Riley being involved.

From the late 1980's to the early 1990's, the New Jack sound dominated R&B. Guy was a huge factor for that. The group had a short but memorable run.
I just hope they’ll stay together and keep getting along!! Life is too short for the nonsense!! Love these dudes!! 😎

& this is where Chris Brown sampled "warm Embrace" from Guy's "Let's Chill"
