These videos are real teaching tools , nice and slow and repeated in different ways . Also, the visual association helps retain the association with the words. Very well thought out and presented. the touches of humour make it fun too , thank you

Here's another suggestion for a future topic that would be fun, practical, and is largely ignored by language teachers: onomatopoeia! (These are words that imitate natural sounds.) This is a broad enough topic that you would probably want to break it into at least two parts: animal sounds, and other sounds. E.g. in US English we have: dog: woof or arf-arf or ruff-ruff or bow-wow cat: meow cow: moo sheep: baa donkey: hee-haw rooster: cock-a-doodle-doo hen: cluck cuckoo: cuckoo (the bird is named after its sound!) crow: caw duck: quack goose: honk frog: ribbit (this might be new in the past 50 years or so) bell: ding-dong or ring-a-ling There is a closely related class of words which name sounds, but do not strictly imitate that sound, e.g. lion: roar loud noises: crash, bang, boom, ...
Спасибо. It would be helpful if you could say a few words about the origin of each word. Roughly half are very similar to English, or are very similar to related Russian words (e.g. холодно - холодильник) but the other half are very difficult to relate to any other well-known words.
It's all there, you just have to put in a little effort yourself and find them. If you do, you will get much greater benefit than just being told the root and forgetting it after 15 minutes. Eg. a wave is волна, dust is пыль, crockery is посуда etc..
Possible future topic: in English, there are dozens of Latin words and phrases which are relatively common in educated speech. Is this also true in Russian? I'm talking actual Latin, not the thousands of Latin cognates to similar English words. The following Wikipedia page is a rather extreme version, listing many hundreds of such words and phrases, some of which are ordinarily limited to specialized realms of discourse such as law or religion. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Latin_phrases_(full)
Thank you for the suggestion! Off the top of my head: "de jure" and "de facto". We pronounce them the same as in Latin: "дэ юрэ", "дэ факто". I'm sure there's more.

Thank you! Yes, looking at the words' roots is always interesting. I will definitely consider it in the future.
