Lyrics below:
Get your head down to the ground
Shake it all around, a dirty sound.
Get your knees into your face
And see if you can race real slow
It's a slowdive
When you die slow.
Oh it's a low jive
Do the Slowdive.
Get your head down to the ground
Shake it all around a dirty sound.
Get your knees into your face
And see if you can race real slow
Now you jump back like a hound
Emit a howling sound
Dig those limbs into the floor!
And holler out for more!
And you revel in the dips
When your backbone slips
Taking honeysuckle sips
From your rolling hips
It shifts and shifts
It's a Slowdive!
Slow dive!
When you die slow!
It's a Low Jive!
Do the Slow dive!
It's a Slow Dive!
Slow dive!
When you come alive
It's a low jive
Do the Slow Dive!
Slow dive!
Slow dive!
Do the Slow Dive
Slow dive!
Slow dive!
Do the Slow Dive
Slow dive!
Slow dive!
When you die slow
When ya come alive!
It's a low jive
Do the Slow Dive
Do the slow dive
Slow dive!
Uh
Get your head down to the ground
And shake it all around a dirty sound.
Get your knees into your face
And see if you can race real slow.
It's a Slow Dive
When you die slow
Oh it's a low jive
Do the Slow dive
I could watch Siouxsie move forever. She's mesmerizing
Yep! ❤
Yeah, agreed -she should had dated Messiah Marcolin at some point in the 80s though.
Siouxsie was so ahead of her time. Look at her doing acrobatics, her little flash of white crimped hair. Have always loved this woman from the first time hearing the Juju album. I love Rosin Murphy too. Very interesting how she is currently sporting SS's makeup (ok - colours a bit muted).
I agree she is so cool. One of my favourite musicians
I loved A Kiss in the Dreamhouse. All great songs.
What's her music like?
Great taste, Siouxsie and RM 😻
It’s a slowdive - when you die slow
Oh it’s low jive - do the slowdive
I like these lines so much, just amazing
I thought it's "when you dive slow"
The 1980's was the best decade to be young and alive EVER.
I wouldn't swap it for the world 🎉🥳🍾🎈👯
Nobody will ever come close to her styles she was and still is streets ahead of any female artist ever a pure genius
Yes as well as Nina Hagan! Sings Smack Jack! Luv it, do u??? Fave females then & Kate Bush! Cheers from🇺🇸❤️👍🔥
Bjork is a contender. But the Banshees were more than the sum of their parts, a bit like the Bunnymen or Chameleons.
@@trevorloughlin1492 ah yes theses two outstanding bands. Was so lucky to see Bunnymen several times in my area, & hag out after crowd, glad he’s still touring. Unfortunately my favorite Talk Talk became my fave still today just never got recognized here in 🇺🇸, very few gigs in 🇺🇸. Glad to have 80’s music. Still my fave time. And glad some still tour etc.
calm down
@@brain8484 ok brian or whatever your called 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Gothic-Disco" at its best! Priceless Being a fan from 1978 onwards she really took me/us on a marvellous journey - and she/they definitely knew when the party was over for S&Bs to bow out with grace, respect!
Siouxsie's utterly captivating in a distinctive manner.
My first girl crush, had a huge poster of her in my room. 1980, wow, literally a lifetime time ago.
Same here. She terrifyed me as a kid but I now realise I just fancied her
I too had a total girl crush on Siouxsie Sioux. I also had a poster of her on my wall in high-school (late 90's) It was the one with Robert Smith of The Cure and she has her arm around him. I thought it was just so cool. It was a big hit with my friends too. My mom? Not so much. Oh to be a teenager again.
Andrea shmandrea lol me too and i had the exact same poster next to my morrissey poster of course, i’ll never forget seeing siouxsie kiss another women i about had a heart attack, actually i got to see her in person when she was touring with the creatures pretty amazing
Cool
Kind of into them when in high school. In college, my girlfriend was a huge fan so, naturally, I got back into them. ;)
THE QUEEN OF GOTH.
for sure mate
@Karen Time What do you mean?
@Karen Time Girl, you know full well this is goth before goth went mainstream. Even now this isn't even postpunk anymore it's trad goth lmao
@Karen Time
OH MY GOTHIC!!!
The ultimate foursome lineup and notice it’s impact on their “Peek-A-Boo” song and video over a decade later. Cool, shared class.
This is the Banshees track that changed my life! 🖤🖤🖤
Last track on A Kiss In The Dreamhouse album. Hugely underrated album.
A kiss in the dreamhouse amazing album
A true performance band, they almost never even bothered to tell a story through their music videos. To to, say, The Eurythmics, who literally defined what a music video could be. One the Banshee’s most stunning videos was, _The Last Beat of My Heart_ where Siouxsue just sort of lets the words themselves tell the love story. A truly breathtaking video.
This is my all time FAVORITE song of hers! The BEST group EVER!
Specifically danced to this in NY clubs back in the day, when it was new. Listening to it today sounds like an up and coming band, borrowing the sound of early 80s New Wave music
Guess this explains where the band "Slowdive" got their name from.
Not exactly. Rachel did think of this name and knew of the Banshees song, but was inspired more directly by a dream Nick had where he came up with "Slowburn". True story.
so I thought
@@EmblemParade So why not call themselves 'Slowburn"?!!
TOTALLY this came out in 84!!!
@@EmblemParade the name came from the Banshees song, of that there is no doubt. Slowdive guys are fans of the band.
Glad there releasing new music videos of Siouxie.
Totally agree
they're and Siouxsie
My female idol at 14. Now at 47...she will always be my Gothic Queen.
At 73 now, still into these great songs! My dude was DJ at club for 10 years.... still together. Miss those times....especially Talk Talk. MTV didn’t play these bands songs , lousy to not have...
Mine Too
How did you find out about Siouxsie at 14? A friend? I wish I would've known about them at that age.
Siouxsie is a real classic
Definitely 👍
Looked so divine in this era and the white streaks amplify that image so well. People rave about Madonna at that time, but there's no way that she could've tolerated what Siouxsie put up with on stage, nor have the gumption to stand up to it.
Here in 🇺🇸 we never saw these. MTV not grooving with Siouxsie. Thanks for uploading.A nation salutes you.
David Ellis Wrong. MTV's 160 Minutes introduced a lot of oblivious people to REAL music.
120 Minutes.
I remember vividly seeing the video for "Cities In Dust" in regular rotation. Likewise when the video for "Peek A Boo" came out. That was on constantly.
@@ionia23 yep used to see Peek A Boo all the time on regular air time and then the rest of these vids on 120 minutes.
I probably only found out about all the videos of Siouxsie and the Banshees, and got them because I was on the mail serve list back in the early 90's. Connecting with other SATB fans on email back then was so exciting! You lose touch with your old email pals, and you wonder what they are doing now, you know?
Love Stephen Budgie and John dancing on this song
The ultimate Banshees lineup.
makes me wanna get my haircut like hers and dye my hair black like I did when I was growing up in the 80's I was first introduced to Siouxsie when I was 16 in 86 by my best friends I'm so grateful for my best friend influenced me in so much awesome new wave gothic music!
Groovy! I’m 73 an ole 80’s new wave band fan for ever still... great comment, takes me back .... to better music!
0:23 That's a cute dog!
This woman Siouxsie
I fell in love with her at thirteen
I'm now fifty-five and remain in love with the Goddess
🖤💃🖤
Yep.. Im 54. Loved her for 40 years... A muse.
I fell in love at 31. I'm now 31 and still in love with her.
I'm addicted to this song
This is my favorite dark lady 💖🖤❤️
Don't sleep on Nina Hagen
Best thing they done. Still unbelievable.
what an original artist
This song was always my favorite
Who never knew, until this very day, that there was a video for this awesome track?
truly unmatched
I love the "Oh my God" at the end. Very sensual.
That came from violinist Anne Stephenson. Sioux's instructions to her and Ginny Hewes were to "play slow and get tired."
Nick from Argentina,Thank you for music. I love you Siouxsie..💗
Siouxsie Sioux is the real Madonna or Lady Gaga. She did it all. And better. Such a great musician and band. They havent made one bad song.
Commenting on a piece by Igor Stravinsky: “Igor Stravinsky was the real Justin Bieber. He did it all. And better.”
no lil nas x is the real madonna or lady gaga
so T R U E
Theyve all ripped her off. Siouxsie did it all better tho even before she was famous. She got press for what she wore at gigs and stuff. And she is so dignified unlike Madonna who is old and making a fool of herself. I love Gaga tho.
J'adore depuis mes 15 ans. Merci ! ❤️
Love this song
Yes it's true. Singer/guitarist Rachel Goswell of the British Shoegazer band SLOWDIVE confirmed she did in fact name her band after this S&B song.
And then there's a Canadian band that named itself after another Banshees song... Cities in Dust.
Shes so beautiful
my ultimate fave Siouxie track!!
One of the first songs i learned to drum along to. This song is surely etched in me!!
Que voz y mujer más magnética!!! Enamora.
👌 I ♡ the 80's!
I actually watch this everyday.
Same!
You are righteous.
many good songs from this band but this is still my fave
I get the feeling, whatever Siouxie said they did. I probably would of as well. Damn right!
Love me some Siouxsie!
Perfect in everything
Very underrated song
Very underrated individual. Everyone ripped of her. Madonna, Cyndi lauper.
Marilyn Manson too!
I haven't herad this like in 35 years. I have it on cassette (kids, know what that is??). I completely forgot about this one.
she is so iconic!!! she is my main makeup inspo
I don't know anything but her voice is sexy
Always loved this song since the early 90s love it, and the video is so Avant guard .
Still amazing 👌🏾
Best live gig I ever saw . Amazing band . Susan Janet Dallion , ur a legend . X
Amazing

ENJOY, I wish I could rediscover them all over again. 40 years later and I still love it.
Can't go more than a day without the banshees.
Love it!
THIS IS THE BEST MUSIC VIDEO OF ALL TIME
One of my fav song ❤️🖤🖤🖤💅
this one unreal new vibe comin around
This sounds even better now.
sublime
What would shortly after became The Cure´s aesthetics for the next couple years .The Banshees´s influence on Robert Smith is immense and seldom recognized (specially by the latter ).
Love this.
Everything about this video screams 80s lol. I love it!
Me too! Greatest time for videos & songs like this one! Top of the new alternative then, still luv it today. Especially Talk Talk ! Cheers mate👍❤️
I couldn't believe this sound struggled on the charts I saw the the video on a show called mvtrhree in the early eighties and bought the album
noone gonna talk about how modern this video looks? could totally see this happening today
Awesome
I fucking love this album!! Thankyou for the upload
Wooow magnífica canción
I feel like a horrible fan, I was never aware that there was a video for this glorious stomping tune.
I bought this as single and for you non- old-farts it's 45 rpm. I had their albums but I don't remember this been on them. They were here 1982
I didn’t either !
@@akegan It is most assuredly on the A Kiss In The Dreamhouse album. I have played my original vinyl version enough to know that it is there.
Great!
i like the bass
Most excellent. ❤
i love this song so fucking much
Great
3:27 I’m in luv
